Sukuna is one of the best villains in New Gen I've ever seen! NO CAP

If there is one thing that I think Gege does really well, it's making a villain. He can make villains that you hate with a passion but likeable in their own way. Sukuna is not only a purely evil antagonist done right, but an inner demon done right as well. I feel like he perfectly fits the "demon" part because he negatively affects the protagonist and plot of the story unlike most series. He is something that is overwhelmingly evil, does whatever he wants without mercy, and can't be trusted under any circumstances. Sukuna may be a simple villain but that simplicity is what makes him stand out. He doesn't have a complex goal to conquer the world and humanity, he's not someone who was broken in his past life and wants to take revenge on the world that did him wrong, he is purely and simply evil (a quote from Halloween that I love). Despite all that he's done I love Sukuna, he's a good character and great villain.

He's a great character, I love him and hate him at the same time. Akutami really did a perfect job at making him a pure evil villain, badass and funny. It was only a matter of time that this guy was gonna get 10,000 favourites when Shibuya got animated.

I am arguing here only based on the names you mentioned.
Although I prefer Aizen as a villain (more entertaining and interesting character), I think Sukuna is well done in its own way. He has a default, but well done, personality, and he is not prone to “ok let me be your friend for a while”, like so many villains do in some shonen. He can quickly become the center of attention when he decides to appear, which says a lot (others mentioned the same here).

However, for me, I can not say he is worse than Gilgamesh because Gilgamesh is one of the most annoying/irritating/arrogant/punchable-face-mf characters ever. If you mean that Sukuna is more ruthless than him, than yes, I agree. Otherwise, Gilgamesh gets under my skin way more because of his legendary shitty personality.
Sukuna at least has some charm to him, while Gilgamesh just irritates you every time he appears.

Not one of my favorite antagonists, but he’s alright. He might not break new ground or be particularly unique, but he’s got that sort of dark charisma which makes pure evil villains compelling and he’s definitely fun to watch. He’s the best villain the show has, though that’s not exactly saying much.

I think he’s a fun villain - sometimes “pure evil” villains don’t make sense and fall flat but Sukuna hit the mark just right. I think he’s a terrible piece is sh*t but he’s a fun character. In terms of well-written villains, I do not think he is the best. I like my villains a little morally grey (I don’t like true villains I guess.) Think AoT in which you can’t tell hero from villain as it’s just people forced to choose the best option from a list of terrible options.

He's a great antagonist, but he isn't like Aizen, who doesn't need backstory. I think a backstory can help him. I really like him as a villain, and that means I hate him. To y'all mfs who like him meaning you like him, y'all need to calibrate your moral compass, because you're mental.

@ryzxgum He is not even close to Aizen. He's more like Ichigo's inner hollow copy, but still better than most of one piece villains that's for sure.

@dzudoKing indeed no one is close to aizen, because aizen is the absolute bottom of the barrel. sukuna the upgrade of ichigo's inner hollow, the fixed version basically. even one piece's most irrelevant villain who we'll never see again after a mini-filler arc is more entertaining than aizen. it takes a certain level of skill to be as garbage as aizen which we'll never see again. oh wait there's yhwach, nevermind.

ryomen sukuna is badass. I love both the voice actors for him. the Japanese and the English. I watch it dubbed because I love the English voice. it gives me chills in a good way.

I personally don't like Sukuna, but he is one of the coolest and badass dude in anime. It's not like hes acting cool, but its because he actually do have the strength to maintain his badass apperance. I just feel pretty neutral.
