With her being extremely apt at feeling emotion, even over huge distances and from people and animals she does not know or see, wouldn't she necessarily be forced to empathize with every depressed, sad and lonely person in the city? I believe their sorrow would be enough, so why just Atom and some scared animals. I would go so far as to say that she should be suicidal, if she were to experience everyones emotions so intensely.

I think she rather takes things in a positive way to help people and make them feel better, she helps depressed people because of her empathy but she doesn't have to feel bad about it, except when it has a bad ending or someone is surrounded to her.

Do you watch the news? If so, are you depressed all the time?

@Achmetha0626 But she recognized Sahads sadness and wanted to help, and yet doesn't seem to care about regular people. I imagine they feel their pain just as intensely as Sahad.

@Lofen
I stand by what I said. Say a family member or a friend has something happen to them, you're going to care a lot more than if it's some stranger.
We know that the robots, especially the high-end ones, are a lot more connected with each other than with people.

Even though she feels everyone, it makes sense she wouldn't feel the same way about everyone.

I think she's like a sentient barometer, more about sensing than commiserating

watching the news made me very depressed. i had to stop.

i think OP makes an interesting question though, my guess is uran sees others pain as something to heal instead of symptom of larger problems.
