 Publishing company Kodansha announced a sequel manga to Yuki Suetsugu's Chihayafuru manga on Wednesday, revealing an illustration (pictured). The sequel, titled Chihayafuru plus: Kimi ga Tame, is scheduled to begin on Be-Love's January 2024 issue on December 1.Suetsugu serialized the original Chihayafuru manga in Be-Love magazine from December 2007 to August 2022. Kodansha shipped the 50th and final volume in December 2022. The manga has a cumulative 27 million copies of its volumes in circulation. Madhouse adapted the manga into three anime seasons in Fall 2011, Winter 2013, and Fall 2019. Sentai Filmworks licensed all three seasons in North America and released them on home video in September 2017, March 2018, and July 2021. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in February 2017 for digital release and released the 40th volume on October 3. Chihayafuru won the second Manga Taisho award in 2009 and the 35th Kodansha Manga Award in the shoujo manga category in 2011. | Jumped when I saw the words "Chihayafuru" and "sequel" and thought, "SEASON 4?!" Am a bit sad now. I'm happy she is continuing the series, though. Hope this means they'll make more anime sooner rather than later. |

| Lol, I had already forgotten that the third season was relatively recent. I even wanted to catch up with the ongoing by that moment. Well, it looks like now even shoujo can get a full adaptation of a large number of seasons. Fruits Basket was no exception. Congratulations. |

| Chihaya may come up as an alumnus of the club, but I don't think the child will. Because this is the story right after Chihaya graduates, right? Unlike Another, the sequel to Fruits Basket, I don't think it's about the main character's child. The official announcement says that the main character is a boy who is a new member of the club. I wonder if it is different and better than the previous one... |

| @_MushiRock11_ It's a pity that this was only the announcement of the sequel to the manga and not the anime. But I still hope that other similar sequels will see their own anime adaptation. I'm still waiting for the Fruits Basket sequel adaptation, for example. |
