Of course Shall tries to comfort Ann as always but he's also got important business to take care of.

This episode dealt with a mix of drama and storytelling. Knowing more about Rafal definitely felt like important as part of the overall narrative imo.

This episode gives depth and complext to sugar world without being too informative.
Can't believe there are only two episodes left.

Ever since Lafalle showed up, there's been much more blood in this series. And the whole situation is quite messed up. Didn't expect something like this from this anime.
The fairies at the end seemed like they were brainwashed.

The old talk about long-living creatures. One of you will die early or whatever.

So Diamond is still a diamond.

Certainly, Rafal is a leader, have charisma to brainwash.

The red fairy/Gladeion has self declared him as the fairy king and has now challe and anne in his palms and he is killing all humans he sees along the way to become king and also torturing the fairies also.

Rafal said the same thing to the both of them. He can be the fairy king and all, but that won't convinced them. I believe that Challe and Anne will prove that human and fairy are allowed to be together. Where no one is ruling over the other.

In the end, Gladice is just a manipulative tyrant. I really hope Shall will kill him soon.

“A king like that is a fraud” very powerful and moving speech from Anne that will hopefully open the fairies eyes to just how evil Gladus is. He’s worse than the humans he hates so much. A king that rules by fear is doomed to fail. Taking his fellow fairies wings is no different than how humans control them.

At the end of the day, I think he’s jealous that he’s been alone this whole time while Challe found happiness with humans. His whole argument about humans dying soon is a common one you’ll see in these types of fantasy series and is always flawed.

Yes, human lives are short, that’s what makes them valuable. “It’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all” closing yourself off from love because of the fear of being hurt is foolish.

We did learn quite a bit about the lore of the world as well in this one. It’s interesting that both Gladus and Challe were created by the fairy king to be successors as opposed to a human. If anything Challe acts more like the king than anyone as it was the king’s desire for peace that birthed them.

I don’t think they just showed diamond for nothing. At some point we’ll probably get that third fairy. Maybe born from Anne or Challe’s desire which would be fitting.

Good to see Keith back in the show. Both he and the Paige artisans have good intentions, the emotion of the situation just got to them. But at this point it is best to let those stronger than them handle this situation and focus on what they can do.

Challe’s possessive side really been on display the last few weeks. Gladus touching Anne neck got him feeling some type of way lol.

I didn't like the kidnapping storyline at first, but after Anne's encounter with other fairies it gained a new perspective. Lafalle only manipulates everyone, both Shall and Anne too. Glad to see they weren't swayed though, and instantly sought each other out. While there is some truth about incompatibility of fairy and human life span, they still can have some time in life to live happily with each other, what's wrong with that? All those moments and memories would be their treasure, not a sorrow.

Poor fairies can't even have a happy life even when their leader is also a fairy and Anne is in the middle of all of this, she wanted to make them see reason but what else can she say when most if not all humans there are just as awful and now then Lafalle that also shows evil can take any shape and form

This ep reminded me of that recent thread about Challe’s love language being touch.
He was so comforting to Anne, always at least one hand on her shoulder (plus covering up Lafalle’s touches with kisses again!)

Rafal implanting seeds of doubt in Ann and Shall's minds, manipulating the other fairies, blackmailing Shall to help him kill crafters, and blackmailing Ann to create candies. He is the worst, amazing. I want to enter the screen and punch him (lol). And I am amazed with his VA, Saitou Souma, because I often meet him in chill characters. His chill voice in a deranged character is so good.

Meanwhile the crafters ensemble are growing and still working - like what Ann said last episode, this is what they can do. Collins understands that Ann will be happy to see progress on their work when she comes back. By the end of the season Keith will likely go back to the Paige workshop.

"This person gave my wing. Rafal took it from me." Shall making the other fairies think on their own. I got scared of Ann telling them their king is cruel, but they do not yet comprehend what 'freedom' truly is.

Quite a heavy episode. Hopefully we'll see some positivity in the last 2 episodes.

So the red fairy wants to be the king. Ironic indeed, for a king to want to free fairies by taking their wings and enslaving them.

With Anne, Challe and Lafalle whisked away to an abandoned castle with warrior fairies on guard, the unkempt "brothers" gemstones wielded out from a sword, the latter is out for the kill, trying to reclaim the freedom of the fairies' out of which Riselva had forged the sword, even if that sword is protected by humans.

As to how Anne will be saved, leaving it to Viscount Hugh and Challe would be better while the others continue their work on the sugar confection, adding Keith into the progress. Until then, Anne has to contend with Lafalle's sweet white lies and harsh truth, not to mention the loyalty of the fairies who were bought by his promise. However, what Anne believes in, the fairies like Lusul El Min could not comprehend, and there is no point telling them more when Challe gave them the simple context.

The villain character truly is playing his part as the glorious bastard, well played Lafalle.

A good build up episode to the season finale and for a change, the main cast is very reasonable about the situation. So no dumb "power of friendship" solution on the horizon so far, but based on the story it'll probably boil down to something like that at the end. Anyways, I'm glad to see, that their initial respond wasn't the usual picking up arms, despite their lack of ability to do so.

I also liked the return of an old character, who's important to Ann and with her return, we got a glimps into the slightly more complicated nature of the enslavement of Fairies.

Rafal has brainwashed all those fairies into thinking that he's their savior or something. Will they ever realize that Rafal is evil?

Can Rafal be stopped?

The only thing that made me somehow "happy" in this episode was the fact that Keith is back... But that's about it. I've never disliked a villain more than Rafalle so good job, writers! He's truly horrible, vile and... I'm at loss for words.

I really understand Anne's little breakdown. He's promising these fairies freedom by taking their wings... He doesn't want fairies to be free, he simply wants to control them himself. I really, really hope he won't become the next fairy king. He doesn't deserve to be. Not just by the way he treats Challe and Anne but he's truly horrible. It's really sad to see how naive Lusel is. It's partly understandable given what humans do to fairies but Rafalle is not the right fairy to fight for them. Not with his cruel methods.

But I guess this answers my question, no third fairy born out of the diamond (not yet). I have a really bad feeling about what's next. Only two episodes left to resolve this (hopefully)...

Also I understand what Elliott was saying. They can't do anything for Anne and Challe and have to rely on Hugh and his men. It's not a nice feeling but the least they can do for Anne is to finish their work.
You're the light shining over The black and gloomy nights
So long I've been waiting To run into your arms
Oh, my only one desire You're the one I need
Through the thousand years ~ Evermore
