Hi!

I'm wondering about two things after finishing the last episode of the anime:

1. There seem to be some hints as to Robin having changed and behaved oddly different from before and at the same time Doc disappeared from view, which makes it look like the show is collecting clues that Doc put his brain into Robins body. The characters seem to not have had this idea though. Am I reading too much into these clues? Or has it been spelled out already and I missed it?

2. I don't understand the two-baby situation. I mean I have no idea where the second baby suddenly came from and what the important difference between them is. Which episode/part do I need to rewatch to understand it? I can't find it.

All of it is being answered in the manga. These theories that u have are completely valid and if u wanna know whether they're true or not u should read the manga or w8 for a second season.

Hi, thank you for your quick reply!

I was worried that I missed something important while watching the anime or maybe an explanation that was not translated well in the localization I watched.

I guess I'll try and be patient for a second season!

There are pretty short scenes that "explain" these questions, altho nothing 100% in the anime.

The anime does hint at Robin having sex with Kiruko, as to wether that was forced or not we do not know yet, but it's important to mention that Kiruko at that time was still a minor, while Robin was well into adulthood, but we do not know more than this.

The anime also tells us that the other baby was a clone, as far as we know, the doctor cloned the baby probably to give that body to the director, who wanted the brain transplant into a younger body(I don't know how the hell that would work with an adult and a baby, so I can be wrong here)

Oh, a clone! Of course that makes sense! Thank you I missed that.

That doctor/scientist has a bit of an unlucky streak, right? First being overlooked at promotions, then hunting shoe soles for three episodes and just when he figured it out, it basically didn't really matter anymore and in the end being at the scene of the baby-switcheroo as the person in charge! I'd say we have our candidate most likely to be hit by a meteorite in that show.

That's right and the doctor wasn't promoted because the director wanted first to transplant her brain into the young adult woman whom she promoted and then wait for the baby clone to mature enough for her to transplant her brain once again into it.
Also because of the switcheroo, we don't know if Maru is the clone or the actual baby of Toki😅

Yeah, I got that part about the planned body-swaps of the director. But that was also a part of what I find confusing about the two babies, because considering how ruthless the director is portraied, I wouldn't think she'd have any qualms leaving the mother without a baby and just use the 'original' for the body-swap.

To add to what others have already said... Maru said that he has to find "heaven" in order to find someone who looks like him and give him a shot (As in a needle full of some liquid). This will "cure" him or something.

Well, the 1st question is spoiler, so here's the thing

For the 2nd question Maru was a 2nd generation Hiruko born from his parents by no artificial means and they were never taught sexual education. The Hirukos were dying mysteriously in their research center. So, they cloned the natural born hiruko to better understand them.

P.S. The series is not a typical series, many things aren't explained you have to understand them. Otherwise, you'll have questions like the second one or about Robin you made.

Well, the baby wasn't for that. The director wanted deputy director Aoshima's body. That's why she promoted her.

P.S. Aoshima raised Maru until Maru met  Kaminaka Shino who taught him about his ability. And she is the aforementioned director in another person's body.

Robin was running a shelter for kids, and he's a rapist pedo. So you can assume kids hadn't the best time with such person.
Neither Kiruko or Haruki lived there, so they didn't had a full view of it.
Kiruko has suspicions, she warned Haruki to stay away from him.
Robin was also culprit of people disappearing from the city they lived. If I remember correctly, he would lure monsters inside the city and kill them gaining fame which allowed him to do whatever he wanted.
If you remember episode where Kiruko/Haruki lays on bed after night of rape, there's a short bang sound. It's a gunshot sound. Her/his body remembered the sound. It suppose to be Robin shooting Kiruko when she was holding Haruki in her arms after monster attacked him and ate his body.
Doctor never was evil dude. He had dead Kiruko and Haruki who wouldn't last. He performed surgery transferring Haruki brain into Kiruko body just to save at least one of them.
Robin never was a good dude, he's psychopathic kid loving rapist. Haruki had naive view of him because he never had a chance to learn his sick nature. He only believed public image and I don't think he even interacted with him much in the past except the scene where he saved him from thugs which Robin was hunting because they hurt his business.

There are some assumptions in your comment although most is OK to me.
We have little clues on what happened during the orphanage period between Robin and Kiriko, only very light hints that should be taken with some salt as this story makes a habit of sending us on false trails. It's not clear if Robin did work for the orphanage or if he was part of the whole team that managed the cart races, and the story about the guys selling false tickets would hint for the later. He's definitely a shady guy  though, no question about it. But it is not certain that he shot Kiriko, the way it's shown in the manga as well as in the anime hints that he witnessed the shot, but I'm not convinced yet he fired it. We don't know what he would gain doing so. There's still a lot to uncover about Robin.
As for the doc, even if he saved Haruki, he has so much on his hands I find it difficult to consider him a nice guy.

Doctor is a good guy. It's confirmed in the manga.
