best opening ever ?

i don't know but direction and creative wise this opening is so much different and miles above most of the openings and also how the song is made just adds so much tension and emotions in it and fits with the show.

PLZ DON'T BE TOXIC, IF YOU DISAGREE PLEASE PUT OPENINGS THAT YOU THINK ARE REALLY BETTER IN YOUR OPINION, I'LL LOVE TO CHECK EM OUT.

edit 1 : by best opening, I mean the quality of those openings themselves excluding your love for your fav series or nostalgia.

edit 2 : don't post your message if it's not related to the topic

edit 3 : I don't have recency bias I have watched ton of opening and this opening is truly that damn good on technical and creative standard.

Valid statement. I don't think there's any other op that is as creative and well-directed as this one. Just the fact that it can be reversed and the visuals and the lyrics STILL fit is truly insane and never done before.

But personally speaking, Cruel Angel's thesis has a special place in my heart and will forever be my #1 Anime OP. Despite being nearly 3 decades old, it is still, to this day, considered as the greatest anime op ever made.This just tells how iconic the op is

I would say the best is Duvet from Serial Experiments Lain. But I will say the animation in the like click season 2 opening is absolutely amazing.

It's definitely very good and has a unique touch in terms of direction. It's not my favorite (I even think Dive Back in Time) is better, but I like it a lot.

Some of my personal favorite openings are from Erased, Eva, AoT, Lain and Steins;Gate. There's also like openings from Oregairu and Assassination Classroom that are extremely nostalgic to me. idk

A very good OP, visually I would say it deserves a spot up there with the best.

What I like the most about this OP, though, is that I feel like this is going to encourage a lot more openings/animations to get even more creative.

I want this medium to continue evolving creatively.

Honestly not a stretch imo it IS one of the top 10, like the visuals, the quality, the song itself, its relevance to the plot, the lack of spoilers for its season, personally it checks the criteria but Ik opinions are subjective

As I said I’d give it top 10. I think Shingo yamashita has made better ops before though, just from a technical storyboarding perspective plus I like other songs better

no brother i think if recency bias would have been a thing with me then I would have had made ton of posts like best opening ever for a lot of animes. i genuinely felt this technically by far best opening I've ever seen
