“To each their own,” as my mother would say.

Personally I consider this a masterpiece about two injured and stubborn people learning to love themselves and each other. Each MC is strengthened and completed by the other.

In my opinion, this is high romance … JMHO

They are both learning what emotions are because of their weird lives and traumas, they can't really put it into words but is pretty clear Chise and Elias love each other. Is a fairy tale romance.

Duh.
I watched both seasons

Main genre is clearly fantasy.
2nd genre is drama
3rd genre slice of life

Plot has few touches of mystery to keep it interesting
then at the very end comes "romance"
has less romance than most "romantic subtext" anime lmao

After 36 episodes characters are not sure of their feelings because he's not human and she is dumber than a rock.

Don't ever tag shit like this as romance ever again.

Again, they know they love each other, they just don't put a label on it. The whole show is about uncommon and abnormal stuff. Not everyone needs labels to dictate how they are supposed to be, live or feel.

True i did actually started this cuz i saw reels and chise in last ep of first season in wedding dress so i thought well il get alot of romance. There is no many but this shows as some people say they learn about their emotions and they love eachother tho plot and characters revolves around magic and unusal stuff and im still addicted to the anime. Its complete anime but if u seek for full romance then not, but u see bound between both mc. I forgot i started seeing this for romance . And bond between both mc characters shows more mature way of handling romance and connection than most of romance shows that actually tries something. But still i wouldnt put romance tag here, its not 20 min per episode revolving around romance. Still 10/10 for me.
