| Akane gets the most screen time this episode and even though she was teasing a lot earlier, it seemed something was bothering her. And a date? Well, that came unexpected. Despite her usual cool exterior, it looks like Akane has a softer side too when making that cafe. And the rest of the cast really appreciates her presence at the cafe. Of course, Hayato would also defend her and I'm sure Akane really appreciates him. |

| Oh about time we get some classic cheesy Seo drama. Just doesn’t feel like one of his series without them. Though for what it was? Simple, all of a sudden one of the girls started acting weird and was all about leaving the familia. That girl being Akane does make some sense, I mean the ending of last episode did warrant some kind of event coming this time around. But hey it wouldn't have been that tough to make a guess as well, as Akane complimenting everyone all of a sudden was too strange of an event lol, and I mean that’s how mister alpha figured it out too. Since Hayato knew what was up with Akane, she invited her on a date, just so he could get the reason out of her that way. And look, a coffee is all it took for dude to hit Akane where it can hurt most. We got her story… she some ojou-sama from a super rich family, and now her family wants her to return back to take over the family business, the traditional way. Of course she doesn’t want that, and that’s when the dude jumped to give her a helping hand. Of all the ways to help Akane reason in front of her mother, dude decided to do absolutely nothing lol. That’s good on its own though, as Akane built up the courage to face her mother head on that way, by making a fucking COFFEE and procceding to win over her lmaoooo. A coffee is all it took for her mother to melt lol. This was hilarious, the pay-off. But fine that’s just how things conclude in these series. Best girl is here to stay and going nowhere. Big W. |

| There's nothing in life that can't be solved by brewing coffee lol. Akane's mom even became cool with the traditional harem rom-com harem situation. That's at least how interpret her cheering on her daughter. Really nice best girl focussed episode. Although we had some minor moments before, today we learned how she really is behind the kuudere charm. Akane used indirect confession in the end..it was very effective. |

PS: When Hayato tells Akane's mother his full name and she responds with "Wow, the world is a rag", it may be that the other party to the arranged marriage was Hayato himself or a relative of Hayato ? |

| Akane’s mom ended up being an issue after all, but she is no longer lol. I was also expecting her to be even more of a bitch than she actually was but I was somewhat pleasantly surprised there, but good on Akane for standing up to her and even getting her on her side, tho I think Hayato was a bit too harsh lol, if Akane was a softer type I think she would have broke down right there, that or Asians are used to this, I’ve heard about Asian parenting so this ain’t far off I guess lol, but it ended up working out so I can’t fault Hayato too much. And immediately after that was resolved Akane is going straight for points for Hayato with that pier scene lol. I can definitely see why folks love Akane now, it’s the go getter types that often become favorites in harems so I get it, and I already liked her but this moved her up for sure. I’m not sure if I’d say she’s my favorite yet but I can see her claiming that spot by the end, but if she covers “Playing in the Band” in her band then that’s an instant straight shot to number 1 lol, just play me some dead tunes and I’ll love you forever. |

| Its unlike Akane to both joke around and complement others that openly. Funny that the date turned out to be a research session between them. Didnt think that Akane's family was that big of a deal. But i guess after being granted freedom for that long that they'll come to take her back. Looking at her past the kind of freedom that Akane had now would had been impossible. In the end this was a pretty fun ep that did well to expand upon Akane's character and her background while ensuring that she's able to stay and find her own path at the cafe. Looks like the long awaited beach ep is next up. |

| I did not enjoy this episode very much, for once. Maybe because it's gone a little bit too much according to my expectations? In any case, I feel like I don't have much to comment about: it's not that I hated the episode, it's just that there is nothing special about it imo, I thought it was not as good as the rest of the series. |
| I didn't enjoy this episode either. For all the cheesy drama out there, this episode tried so hard to deliver self-contained plot arc yet it didn't really feel natural at all. It's not good writing to introduce a problem and resolve it right away. Felt like girl of the week checklist. We will get another girl drama the next week. Her strict mother was persuaded way too easily, she didn't even require any assurances and simple coffee was all it took to change her mind. While I liked Hayato's general approach, trying to make Akane stand on her own, he rushed and forced her change on the spot in the end. Compare with Oregairu and Yukino's complicated relationship with her mother. Miles difference. Showing that persuasion didn't work at first would resulted in much bigger payoff later on here. I think the direction of the episode was pretty decent but I guess they can only do so much with subpar source material. The worst thing? While they try to portray MC as ultimate chad, he still chickened out in the end when Akane got close to him at the pier. He basically reverted to classic anime trope harem protag there. |

| Great episode with Akane focus. Hayato gave her the push she needed. Her mom's a great person too, she was just worried for her daughter. Akane blushing was cute and that last scene was really sweet. |

| Akane was already in the lead, but she went ahead and twisted the knife to seal the deal, she is undeniably best girl, objectively and subjectively. My stocks are all in on Akane and I don't think I'll invest in anyone else from this point on lmao. I don't think the mother was super terrible, deciding someone else's life for him/her is bad, but it's great that she accepted Akane's wishes when she saw that Akane actually has her shit together. At the end of the day, she cares for her daughter. Hayato the GOAT. Sometimes all we need is a little push and that's what he did, though I am not sure shouting "quit bitchin," right in front of Akane's mother is just a little push lmao, but goated nonetheless. |

| The boob squeeze drama, oh man...Ami's just not letting it go. With the café doing better than expected day after day, so too is Hayato realizing that Akane is leaving the job sooner or later due to family circumstances, acting out of her usual character. Expecting a boob squeeze from him like Ami, that's out of the joke question, though Hayato asking Akane out on a date, it's different from what the other girls are expecting as he's trying to get as much information out from her in regard to the café, such as her coffee brewing. As to why Hayato didn't want to hear Akane's problems, he is largely fine with it since they're family, with respect if they choose to share or not. The family tragedy with having to concur to a forced family marriage tradition, other than the subpar coffee, the girls are not ready to let her go, though the choice is hers. And since she wants to stay in the café, it's up to Hayato to bail her out. The family confrontation, and Hayato isn't the type to let things go smoothly, and Akane has to face her own music towards her own mother, looking towards her own daughter as the next family heir that has her freelance year wasted doing nothing significant. Like her mother, Hayato could not stand her half-assed replies, and sounds out at the biggest of his lungs, lashing out at her for the attitude that she's giving to both him and her mother, and the only way to prove it is through her making coffee, the culmination of the year in her life. Just by taste alone, she succeeded in convincing her mother to lead her own lifestyle, and the girls' behaviour just don't learn by eavesdropping on the situation. Other than Akane's mother knowing who Hayato's grandmother is, Akane's chapter comes to a close, the best coffee barista girl. |

| Damn that melodrama got solved a lot faster then I expected. Kind of a nothing episode all things considered but I guess that's better then some of the bad episodes this show had before. |
| It's great to see that Hayato and Akane were able to convince Akane's mom to let her (Akane) do what she really wants in life and not come back home to her parents. I'd never thought that Akane's backstory would lead her mom to look down on her. I'm just glad that, with enough practice, Akane has been able to pick up some skills |
