Pony Canyon opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Yuu Saitou's Giji Harem manga on Monday, revealing the lead cast and a teaser visual (pictured).

Nobuhiko Okamoto (Kami no Tou, Ballroom e Youkoso) and Saori Hayami (Spy x Family, RWBY: Hyousetsu Teikoku) are starring as Eiji Kitahama and Rin Nanakura, respectively.

Saitou originally began posting the romantic comedy manga on his Twitter account in June 2018. Gessan serialized the manga from January 2019 to March 2021. Shogakukan published the sixth and final volume in April 2021.

Synopsis
Eiji Kitahama, a second year high school student, just wants to be popular. To help him realize this dream, Rin Nanakura, his junior in the drama club, uses her acting skills to create a harem of loving girls for him. Though the various "girls" all show fondness toward Eiji, the affection of the actress behind them is very real. Rin's colorful acting continuously delights Eiji, but will the starlet herself ever make her way into his heart? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Well that's surprising news.

Adaptation of something that's long finished, wonder if it's a full adaptation, most probably it is.

It was a fun short manga. Though never thought will ever see an adaptation out of it, so pleasantly surprised.

Haha, it finally happened. It wasn't obvious or expected, but for some reason I kept confusing other harem adaptation announcements with this one.

They can make it into a long series of 5-10 minute episodes or just create compilation episodes like with other manga short adaptations.

Yes! I never thought this might get an anime. Awesome!
Although hearing the voice actress on the comic dub, I'm disappointed in her voice.

Tsundere-chan was good I think, but my favorite Cheeky-chan didn't sound great. Hopefully she's directed with better voices.

Pony Canyon is great at adaptions for the most part, even if they're aren't always fully faithful, but that depends on the director, so hopefully he's good.
Sweet to see another good romcom get adapted into an anime. Hopefully it does it justice or exceeds my expectations.

This was a pretty fun manga

Didn't think it'd ever get an anime but I'll take it. Pretty short too so should be easy enough to cover the whole thing

it is not actually a harem. It’s just different personalities of one person (not Dissociative identity disorder by the way).

no, just a girl who training her acting skill by fullfilling the senpai she love joke dream to have harem by acting as multiple girl with different personalities at once.

Why Saori Hayami? I understand she is popular, but she is pretty "one-note" as VA and this role seems to require being flexible. There are way better seiyuu for this like Ayane Sakura or Haruka Tomatsu, for example.

It was a really enjoyable read up to the last couple of chapters when it lost focus. I don't think it's fit for an adaptation though. Manga series like this just don't work as any other medium. Another example is Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei airing this season. It's ok as manga but I could barely power through the first episode because it's just that tedious to watch.

I hope they fixed the last arc of the manga because it was pure garbage compared to the 9/10 of the rest of the chapters.

Hayamin voicing the multi personalities will be amazing.
