The series itself is wasted. I’ve heard that the mangaka was basically rushed to finish his story and it’s clear from reading it. The end product we got was essentially rushed, and the anime just followed suit. It would be great to see where the mangaka would have originally taken his story.

The second season is an embarrassing thing, for me that anime only has one season and it ended there, I don't want to think there is a continuation.

The anime was pretty bad. But after reading the manga, even though its nice, I wouldn't say it had some extraordinary potential. Though it would still have been miles better than what we actually got.

Probably, the adaptation purposefully throws away any potential by rapidly skipping through everything between the first arc and the ending.

Idk who is to blame though. It’s tragic regardless.

Easily the biggest fall from grace in animation history. I don’t know what Cloverworks was thinking wasting time and resources to massacre this project.

this might be an unpopular opinion but I thought this anime would be dark enough to keep Norman gone or atleast something worse happening to him or maybe they'd have to save him? just something more interesting than what we saw

Absolutely. This is the most disappointed I've ever felt when it comes to something anime, or even media related. The first season stayed very true to the manga, but the second was basically a parody. Kinda like that scene in ATLA when they have that play about Aang and the rest of the group.

I can only hope it gets the Fullmetal Alchemist/Toilet bound Hanako treatment.

The manga had raised my expectations ngl,seeing the the anime like this is so weird seriously all those deaths and heartbreaking moments were the sad and good parts in the manga.I saw these characters gain and lose a family especially Emma and Ray only for it to end up like this well basically it was rushed and that was awful :(

I cried after two episodes and having a huge emotional bond to the manga. The manga is so good but they just left out so so many things. Especially *Minervas* comeback was SO underwhelming after I bawled my eyes out in the manga. Potential wasted

@Kiriha_desu Most shows aren't. Point is, it was still miles better and is more than just enjoyable. Wouldn't have a 8.58 rating otherwise.

Yeah, it's just like with Berserk, the original season was great and provoked many people to check the manga which was even better but second season of Promised Neverland and next seasons of Berserk were worthless garbage.

My conspiracy theory is that the anime season 2 was made to be worse on purpose so people would keep saying how manga was better, when in fact, towards the end it wasn't all that good either. I remember a lot of people were disappointed in the manga discussions, me included, but with the season 2 being such a dumpster fire all the hate energy went to the anime instead, leaving the manga shining in comparison.

The manga already had a sharp decline in quality after 100 chapters, but at least the story and lore was compelling enough to keep me until the end. The season 2 butchers the plot and removes almost all the lore. There were some parts of the last half that I wanted to see animated, especially the Day and Night dimension.
.... but OF COURSE they skipped that part, lol.

Is there really no official information about the production of this season? What were they thinking? Goldy Pond should have been the entirety of season 2. Given its popularity online, fans would have loved it. Maybe they were afraid the animation would be too hard for them? It feels like they removed the most dynamic parts of the manga (note that I haven't yet finished season 2).

Everything changes. Even the happy and funny things eventually disappear. How can I still enjoy this place then?
