the principal said "welcome AGAIN(?), lu mingfei". is he suggesting that the mc has attended the college before? i know early on nuono mentioned the mc has many names...

the principal also said "long time no see" to the mc's brother in the drawing (i assume as part of mc's "paper" that was due for the principal?). so the principal knows what/who the brother is

the brother also sent mc a letter with a cell phone to get in touch with him. he also deducted 25% of the mc's life. the mc received 4 wishes, so each one is worth 25% of his life i guess. but also, the "brother" lives in this same world? and can communicate and interact with mc and others in this world?

so many questions that have yet to be answered (dragons in general, his parents, the "brother", his mysterious origin, etc, etc, etc). but i've enjoyed this show. i like the mystery. i like the lore. and i think the mc is pretty decent (loud, scared, clueless, funny, OP but doesn't know it or how to use it), and the side characters all seem complimentary or compelling in their own right

After a good prequel to the series, this just went downhill.
I don't think i really enjoyed any episodes.
Oh! and they conveniently saved the Girl, Yes, they did.
Can't be bothered writing any more, just be warned, or read the mixed review, that say's it all.

The constant freak outs started out funny but got annoying eventually.
The animation is top notch and the opening is a banger.
The characters and plot are ok tho.
6/10.

The whole series was a poor mash-up of action, "magic school", comedy, slice of life, and above all else, melodrama. Bad melodrama at that. If you want to watch a much more fulfilling series, then watch Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation or My Hero Academia for that matter. At least those two series try to add an original spin to what came before them. Long Zu feels like its script was AI generated.

@Vulpine_Hammer Imagine saying all that but then you recommend mushoku tensei that known with that pedoshit and the white knight defending it

@rijallconnie

Is this a troll?

I am unfazed by "pedoshit" claims in fictitious settings. I suppose you are not a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the same reasons? Or any other media where characters that are minors have sexual relationships? Or is it just that the characters of Mushoku Tensei are drawn as children as opposed to being played by adult actors? The fact is, Mushoku Tensei, as I recall, was barely more explicit than any TV-14 teen melodrama.

Perhaps your objection comes down to Rudeus is pushing fifty years old (past life plus new life) by the time he and Eris consummate their relationship? I guess that puts Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel in the same "pedoshit" category. As would any Fantasy setting with long lives races like Elves unless the story imposes strict miscegenation.

We suspend or disbelief in various ways to accommodate fiction. Unless the content is particularly egregious and contextually unsound. And by that, I mean genuinely exploitative. Otherwise, I don't see what the fuss is all about.

Anyway, I stand by my assessment of Long Zu and Mushoku Tensei. But if your truly offended by Mushoku Tensei, you can drop RWBY in its place. I don't think RWBY is anywhere as good over all, as Mushoku Tensei. But, I did enjoy RWBY to the extent that it wasn't an absolute disaster (though it came pretty close) in its attempt to mimic Japanese Anime. After its rough start, I think far more highly of RWBY than I do of Long Zu. It certainly had better pacing.

[Edit]

I removed references to media that didn't not match Mushoku Tensei in terms of rating. I originally referenced Game Of Thrones and Let the Right One In, but they are both intended for mature audiences. They are certainly more contemporary examples and were meant to be hyperbolic at that, having far more explicit content. Some of which, on further reflection, and specifically with respect to Game of Thrones, even I could consider, "genuinely exploitative". I think the Buffyverse stands as a better contrast.

Nah, this was all over the place, and the MC ruins it tbh Insufferable shit who is being manipulated by literally everyone but is too dumb to see when it's so obvious and the constant whining without ever doing anything at all. Every useful thing he's ever done is all borrowed power. You know it's bad when a jackass like Cesar looks good compared to our MC.

I bet his mom doesn't even exist since he's heavily hinted to be a dragon, the letters are probably just faked by the principal who is just using his dumbass to go after the other dragons.

You don't like this show? Fine.

But you could've at least recommended good shows as opposed to what you actually suggested. 🤣

Good grief

Come on, Lu Mingfel! Bros before hoes, dammit! You asspulled some deus-ex-machina just to revive the hoe, you should've at least tried to save your bro! There was hope! Because he clearly had emotions and might've been talk-no-jutsu'ed with enough persistence! He simply was in soul-crushing grief over the gruesome death of his little brother, which was the fault of the principal the scummiest scum who forced him to end up that way, and the proof is that the anger sword didn't respond, meaning Norman wasn't guilty of the anger sin, he was simply in the depths of the blackest despair... damn.

I thought the story was good.
My big concern was that the school didn't care about the potential of the dragons being pacified, staying in human forms. Their immediate response was shoot, kill. Constantine wasn't even attacking. He was wandering around looking for his brother. The headmaster purposely broke the seal, hired the unknowing Norton in, then orchestrated Constantine to be murdered in dragon form for his ashes. Then, enrage Norton and have him transform into a dragon and murder him for his ashes. These ashes must be a big deal, or there is some information we don't have about their nature, as they were killed at least twice previously.

Also curious about the girl on the phone who knew what the brothers looked like.

There are a few dangling plot hooks still present at the end of this. Season 2 should be interesting.
