the author never did that, she has many flaws and she even admitted that what she did are objectively wrong, she admit that she's bias, absolutely sadistic, and really doesn't hold punch for anything

she's literaly shot down a farmer turned bandit knowing well they just desperate have no where to go

Mitsuha have the upper hand most of the part? she own luxury that doesn't exist on that world, she own weapon that didn't exist on that world, she got access to military power that easily take down ancient dragon. why wouldn't i felt superior and cocky if i have that much advantages?
she's a lot more interesting ? subaru you can only boil down to "good guy, nice guy". subaru character is not that interesting, what carries re zero is the world and peolple around it.

Mitsuha is more an interesting character, her goal are more grounded and logic, she's never declare herself as good guy, she's smart and her solution actually makes sense, she has no regard for someone she doesn't like and admitted that she play favoritsm, she pretty much can play everyone and way to play them,she's would do literaly anything for her goal.
she got a lot of weakness too, her over confident sometimes lead her to her demise, she's a weirdo who overthink anything and even get critcize for having too much daydream, she can't do anything so she have to rely on a lot of people, she's tell to much lies so sometimes it catch up and she's get caught for it
