A team effort to take down a Shadow..interesting and Shinpei does need as many as allies he can get.

Shinpei also released his rage on Shiori and I honestly can't blame him. Another very tense episode with high stakes.

Continuing from the last episode, we had the trio sharing some more information between each other, and well yes being the only three aware of the current situation around, taking out the Kobayakawa family first takes priority.

Plenty of action with blood spilling all around and Hizuru being in the centre of them, well technically it was Ryuunosuke, her younger brother as we did get to know about Hizuru's double personality later on. Though anyways at least they're done with Shiori's shadow for the time being and it seems like someone is back yet again lol.

Seven episodes in and it’s still going as strong as ever, and moreover even the censorship was little to no this time around.

Really Amazing episode. We got to know who Ryuunosuke was and a few more things about Hizuru, her personality which are SPOILERS.

Damn, Shiori Chan getting beaten up. Well, it was satisfying tho. Her shadow is somehow exceptional. Shinpei trying to prove again that he is the biggest fan of Hizuru.

The cliffhanger tho, Ushio's shadow-chan drooling
over Shinpei's curry 🤤.

Loved this episode, 5/5.

Ep 7 is blast, it's full pack of action to kill that S!Shiori and her family. The scene where Ryunosuke crush every shadow is so satisfying. Unfortunately, not all manga page got animated. We didn't get to see creepy S!Shiori scene where she talking in dinner with her fake family.
I got question tho about how shadow perceive our 3D world. Did they not find strange that there were imprints of the victim in the room ? They seem like didn't try to hide it. (no clear explanation in manga too)

One scene felt off, it's the one where Ryunosuke see glimpse future of him get attacked by shadow. I think it would be better if they finish Nezu talking first then show Ryunosuke scene.

Man, even though Shiori already become shadow she still can make cute expression. I bet if Shinpei don't know her identity he automatically accepts Shiori assuming she was innocent (but actually the devil inside).

Hizuru-sensei quite bashful didn't she?

And last too bad Shinpei came to home only to find out Mio already replaced by Shadow

I bet Ushio is glutton when she eats based on the sound of her stomach growl.

Can't wait for next episode. I hope they didn't cut many dialogues.

Yes, there are more mystery waiting in future episode. Shinpei need to loop many times to prevent bad ending to become reality. Each loop will take a different path from the previous one and of course because of the limitation of his power some action cannot be prevented ( like Mio get copied by shadow). You'll never get bored watching them discover the mystery of this island.
One downside of this anime is they can't fit everything from manga, especially ex-chapter where usually contains notes from Shinpei, Hizuru, or shadow victims.
If you can't wait for anime to airing( remind you that this is 2 cour anime), you can try to read them on mangaplus complete free all chapter.

Another masterful episode. The best piece of media I look forward to every week and with Obi-Wan starting Fridays.. Disney plus got some heat this summer.

I’m a little confused on Hizuru and her brother’s situation, so is it a legit merger of their personalities or is she a little cookoo just uses her brother’s memory to fuel her split personality? Also hoping we get some explanation about her power soon

Mio knife scene was so tense for me lol I was expecting her to run at shinpei.. and then that ushio cliffhanger.. amazing episode they know just how to keep you wanting more.

That ED never gets old. cadoda snapped

Woah! that was a great twist, so 3-dimension shadows also exist and are superior to 2-Dimension. Some reveals are also made like in recent episodes we saw hizuru using phone to record her voice which was for informing her brother who co-exist in her body. i wonder what that shadow meant by memories of them remaining intact and they are reborn.
Shiori's shadow laughing was so creepy tho...

Learning a lot more this ep. I guess we know now why Hizuru/Nagumo is so adept at killing shadows, considering what happened to her and her family 14 years ago. Her brother getting eaten like that is pretty disturbing. I guess that’s where the split personality came into existence, though I wonder if it’s truly a split personality or two souls inhabiting one body? I wonder if that’s the secret Hizuru mentioned. Regardless, she seems to have used her experiences to write her book. It also seems the old man had a similar expedience with his family too. All that aside, the woman doesn’t fuck around when it comes to shadows. Shadow Shiori’s head got done in like a watermelon. Shadow parents got equally obliterated. What a badass.

Anyways, probably the most important bit of info in this ep is the fact that once the person’s shadow dies, they can’t be copied ever again. Trick is just getting to the person in time before the shadow kills them. It also seems these shadows are durable bastards. Pinning them into place and capturing them alive is possible, but difficult I guess.

Also, what the hell is Ushio doing back?? Her timeline has changed too it seems. She should have been at the beach until the festival, I guess she’s doing things differently as well. Weird how the old man and Hizuru/Nagumo didn’t catch her… hopefully nothing happened to them.

These eps just get more and more interesting as the show progresses. Really looking forward to next week.

Another episode full of twists, Ushio showing up to dinner being the biggest one.

A few things we learn from this episode:
1) Nagumo has a split personality. She's Ryuunosuke when she kills shadows, but otherwise Hizuru. This is probably beneficial in case she gets copies. Why? Because while they might be the same person, they don't have the same memories.
2) Nagumo has a secret she can't share with anyone, except those who have been copied and whose shadow is dead. (more on this in the next point)
3) If a shadow of someone alive is killed, no more copies of them can be made. Example: a shadow copies Shinpei, then Nagumo kills it. No other shadows of Shinpei can exist.
4) There are 2 types of shadows: 2D and 3D. 2D shadows can be killed with a direct blow to their actual shadow. 3D shadows can't die that easily.
5) Shadows can be captured. They have to be nailed to the ground with 3 nails.
6) Something has changed which led to Ushio showing up earlier than should be.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

I was looking forward to this episode and it didn’t disappoint at all! the animation is amazing in the fight scenes and they really did shiori’s creepy face so well, her voice actress is doing a great job too her voice really stands out. Hizuru and her bro are so badass man she adds a lot for the story by being there and i’ˆ excited to see more of her

The last scene with mio and shinpei adorable tbh i wanna see more of their interactions together it’s heartwarming how shinpei cares for her as his sis (which is kinda sad for mio but hey not everyday u get a hot guy as ur brother lol jk) and yeah welcome back ushio next ep is gonna be fun

Does the anime pacing almost match the manga? Or did they cut some few scenes from the manga(which is unavoidable), or did they rush the anime and cutted a lot from the Manga?

I dont want to read the manga yet cause Im enjoying the thrill and cliffhanger that anime gives every week so if they cutted alot from manga, I might change my mind and read the manga instead...

Holy shit this episode is wild. So the Shadows aren't omnipotent being, they have weaknesses and drawbacks to their abilities. More Hizuru/Ryuunosuke cute scenes.

That Shadow Shiori is so fucking creepy man. The way it moves and laughs just wow.

I was so paranoid of the Shadows that the end scene startled me a little.

So Hizuru has a dual personality situation with her younger brother Ryuunosuke, or something close to it lol, but that’s very cool, I’m interested in learning how that happened. It was also badass seeing him take control and fighting the shadows, the methods used are very cool, sledgehammer and nail gun combo is the way to go, you can even capture shadows that way. But shadow Shiori was definitely a creepy little gremlin so they didn’t talk to her for long before executing her, you hate to see it happen to her and her family but it was obviously too late.

I also liked the method where Ryuunosuke stabbed himself to get Shadow Shiori off him, quick thinking is essential in this show. I also loved the bit where Hizuru took over by punching Ryuunosuke out, you could see the blushing through the bloody nose lol, cute and scary. And man Mio had us in the first half ngl, that definitely looked like a horrific scene until it was revealed she was trying to cut onions lol, I love the fake-out, and it also looks like Ushio is appearing way earlier this time, I wonder what events will come of this.

Also Nezu is a pretty badass old man, I already like the dynamic trio of him combined with Shinpei and Hizuru. And the fact you can be immune to being copied if you’ve been copied once already is also a very interesting tidbit of new info, this show just keeps getting more interesting lol, as a mystery anime does.

So you gain immunity against shadow sickness? Interesting. Then Hizuru sensei actually had her brother inside of her, but couldn't receive her memory. He's being a badass all along with the help of premonition ability and Hizuru research about how to kill a shadow. Another interesting info. Now when i think about that, its maybe makes a sense why Shinpei can looping. Since it's may his 'special experience' too after having Ushio death in the same manner like Hizuru sensei brother. Well...

Yeah the way they killed the little kid shadow and all her family was a tough experience. As expected they must be interogating her first by nailing it to the street, but too bad the information might be too vague to understand now. If there's no Shinpei, both Hizuru and the old man will fail, and only repeating the first cycle when sensei died around the shrine and the last where the end game reach them.

Since there's a lot of a new information from Shinpei, one problem is pretty much be cleared, and Shinpei prepare to enter a new timeline with all those update. Mio trying to cheer Shinpei up by cooking, and Ushio shadow finally arrived at home after however time she needed walking from the beach to the house. Nice, a glitchy ed!

They cutted a few scene or detail but it’s not really that matter tho, and that's just how anime adptaion works.
The pacing is extremely well, at least for now. The Series Composition of this show, Hiroshi Seko has a very good understanding adout story adptaion, just check out his previous work and you know what to expect

Seeing Ushio at the end almost made me spit out my snack lmao. Really great episode! It's great to see more Hizuru and it's also great to see Ryuunosuke in action. There's definitely more to it than just dual personality, as Nezu said to Shinpei, "close, but not quite."

Shadow Shiori gave me the creeps, I loved it, what a great villain. The last few scenes were definitely not good for the heart with all those fake outs lmao. Can't wait for the next episode.

Hizuru and Nezu, after Shinpei's discovery of the novel's author, opens up her experience, but not too much since the Shadows can copy people, that with Hizuru's secret will be amplified.

Shinpei's time travelling abilities and Hizuru's Shadow eliminating workaround, they have to work very closely to the minute detail to ensure that what goes around, comes around just as planned. But what was sensed certainly was intriguing: Nagumo-sensei a.k.a Hizuru herself has something like a dual-personality when she said that Shinpei met her younger twin brother Ryuunosuke, and Nezu vows to rid Hitogashima of every last cranny and nook of the Shadows.

Hizuru was certainly prepared for when Shadow Shiori escaped with Shinpei and Nezu being Plan B to know of their weakness with securing them using the nail gun. And it certainly did for Shinpei to raise questions with it to answer for Ushio's death, and more...if he's were to be misled in total emotional fury. Hizuru coming clean with her dual personality, and it really shows for some induced comedy.

The Kobayakawas may be done, but Shinpei can still save Mio...her cutting onions that he almost mistook her for a Shadow. Things sure are beginning to look the same...except that Ushio just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. That's creepy though...

Oh you are gonna love this, this mystery is just the tip of the iceberg of the mysteries yet to come, all the information will get together at the end of the anime and till then there will always be a lot of mystery. In short the show is going to be full mystery until the very last episode, yes the very last episode cause in the last or the episode before the last one will tell us how ushio gave Haine's(mother) eye to shinpei.

Great episode! We got to learn more about Hizuru and Ryuunosuke her twin brother who was killed. He died in a similar fashion to Ushio.
Wow, Shiori writhing in pain from being hit was pretty scary looking xD.
She bit into Shinpei's arm...
The old guy captured Shiori's shadow so it couldn't get away.
She confirmed that she was the one who killed Ushio also!
Hizuru killed her shadow by hitting it with her hammer.
Hizuru has dual personalities with her being the writer and Ryuunosuke dealing with stuff that she doesn't like to do such as meetings etc lol.
Shinpei hallucinated that Mio's shadow was waiting for him at home.

USHIO!

Looking forward to the next episode!

Well, we got some more interesting rules for how the Shadows operate this episode, and even if that doesn't help Shinpei in this loop he can definitely use that knowledge for the better in future loops. The Shiori Shadow seems hugely important to everything that's going on as some sort of "abnormal", so Shinpei and co's best bet may be to try and kill Shiori as early as possible into a loop so that she's also dead in the next one. I don't think we've reached that point yet, though, but I'm assuming that he's at least got as far as meeting Hizuru and Nezu for the start of the next loop.
