It's nice to not have to wait for the dub this time, I liked that they brought everyone back last time but this time Ishikawa got recast(the previous guy had an iconic run).

This episode was more heated up than I expected.Which is great.

That Mizukane Suzunka lady is just gorgeous.

And that ED is awesome visually.

That was a great start. I was actually impressed by the visuals for most of this episode. Looks like they spent a lot of time on the backgrounds. Nice action too.

I guess my only gripe would be that they didn't do a recap of season 1... Kinda hard to understand given season 1 aired in early 2020?

Does anyone know why they changed Aramaki's voice cast?

This was... honestly better than anything last season. The setup was great, the scene with Mizukane in the hotel room was fantastic and Kukushkin's plot was also very creative. He turned himself into a service bot. Funniest shit I've ever seen.

I felt bad for not recapping season 1, but wasn't too hard to follow along.

Made me realise this show feels like it copying Japanese cyberpunk themes in a shoddy western fashion, despite being one of the origins of the genre.

Gonna binge watch this.

So GITS's Russian sounds like Polish? Hummm.

Anyway in my headcanon the whole SAC_2045 thing is a spin-off of Appleseed about GITS cosplayers who take their role playing way too seriously.

Music is vastly inferior to other GITS releases (RIP Origa).
Visuals seems to have improved greatly compared to the first season, still not a fan of the style, but that's w/e.
Writing is dumb just like the first season:

  • "You're here to find a lead, not be a detective!" - that's what detectives do, dumbass
  • Pink-haired rookie girl running circles around Batou is peak current year+7 writing (strangely, she is awe-struck by Batou, despite being more competent than him)
  • Transporting an HVT without fully stacked Tachikomas and Jigabachis, WHY (and before somebody says they didn't have time to get there, the pink-haired girl specifically asked the driver to call Tachikomas near the end of the episode).

Actually pretty good episode coming back to Sac 2045.
The Post Human stuff could be really good, just hope this season can deliver on it.

The animation this season is definitely improved over last season.

The story so far is captivating. But FUCK that post-human jump-scare.

NOW THAT IS HOW YOU START THE SECOND SEASON OFF!!

Absolutely loved the car chase and then when Major hopped onto the top of the truck and then jumped onto the moving car to gun the guy down, wow.

As the post human chick is driving against the traffic towards them, it seems like a scene from Matrix Reloaded.

Seriously loving this anime, cause it’s just what you would expect from Ghost In The Shell plus a different flavor with the CGI.
Vandelay Industries, this is George Can’t-Stand-Ya speaking, how may I assist you?

They really went with a polonium assasination? Kamiyama knows his lore (look up Alexander Litvinenko if you don't get this).

I kinda liked this a bit more than the 1st season. Things seem to be improving somewhat.

AWESOME Episode. Waited a few years to see this, it was worth the wait. Great atmosphere, solid plot, cool detective work and PURIN I love her! She gets teamed up with Batou and they go to investigate that Kukushkin guy at the hotel; it's so cute when she hits on Batou an he's like "Yo that's sexual harez-mnt don't ya know" and she's like. "Oh uhm rly?" She's so bubbly and sweet
So they're starting to figure out the whole Post Human thing, at least Motoko gets what's up, and Purin realizes she's been bugged- then the action at the end is fantastic. I was kinda miffed at the 3D models at the start finding them stiff, but car chase is excellent. Loved it. Those guns are nice lol
Ending song is SOLID as fuck. 6 out of 5

If even specops get hacked so easily, especially by the beings they're chasing, they should use airplane mode all the time. They're speaking secrets out loud, anyway. 6.5/10

@RuneRem What Japanese cyberpunk themes? Pretty ninjas except with a robot brain? Cyberpunk started in the '80s or '70s if you count Alien, and Neuromancer / Snow Crash were inspired by the drug-fueled '80s tech boom mostly made in Japan.
