Boris living the good life. That's all from me
"I like young-girl sexual creations, Lolicon is just one hobby of my many hobbies," he says.
I ask what his wife, standing nearby, thinks of his "hobby".
"She probably thinks no problem," he replies. "Because she loves young boys sexually interacting with each other."

Fezzan continues to play both sides of the table in this war, but it seems like they are counting on Reinhard reforming the empire so that Fezzan can maintain economic dominance. I wonder what the Earth cult is trying to gain by working with Fezzan?

This episode really surprised me, the narration was great as always, the dialogues and also the soundtrack when they were talking about Oberstein was astonishing. still fighting with the acceptance of the character designs lol. But the design of that man from the Earth Cult was for me better than the OVA's one.

Oh look, a person got Isekai'ed in Die Neue These. Shame it wasn't Truck-kun who hit him though, but his cousin Car-kun. Seriously, religion keeps screwing things up when Mankind has reached the stars.

Ms. Dominique is crazy looking fine =)

The one thing I still barely accept of this adaptation even though I quite like the rest are the character designs. I got used to them, but Rubynski and Dominique looks just as bad as Reuenthal.

While its not obvious now, despite the talk about the alliance leadership beeing rotten, Trunicht is actually the best boy of the show but we will realize this way too late.

Did not really like this episode. Some of the char designs (don't rememver if we saw them in the previous episodes of the previous seasons already) I did not like: The bishop and Kesserling - I liked the old versions from the old OVA a lot more.

But still ... nice to get a full episode focused on Fezzan. And the scheming in the background and stuff. And Oberstein was investigating.

Nice to see the news in German - in Fezzan. Basicalle the empire feels German (with the names of the characters and stuff) and the Fezzan with it's neutral position like Switzerland (where also German is spoken).

Don't remember that much German stuff (or German at all) in the used language outside of this episode - there was a lot.

Pretty good episode, really like that there's finally an episode focusing on Phezzan as a whole, albeit it's gonna take a while for me to get used to Rubinsky's design. 4/5

I guess with the improvement of the graphics, they're able to incorporate more scenes with screens containing paragraphs of text. So I think it makes sense that we're seeing a lot more German that what we did in the OVA. Maybe I.G. has some connections with someone who's fluent in German?

I tried to watch this episode two times already, but it is so boring on it's own.

Great episode. This season has been very interesting for anyone who was eager to see more development of secondary characters and secondary plots (like me).
The episode went by way too fast for me.
It's worrying to see how Yang's fate becomes more and more dangerous... Reinhard seems to have more weapons to fight this, Yang seems to be more vulnerable...

Ah, DNT has finally got to the infamous scene of the earth cult member looking sorely out of place in the waiting room in his goofy outfit as he waits for his secret meeting with Rubinsky. The outfit is slightly more subtle this time around, at least.

It was cool to see a totally Phezzan-centric episode (we do see a few Alliance and Empire scenes, but they are presented based on their connections to the happenings of Phezzan and Rubinsky), which I don’t think ever occurred in the OVA (though many, perhaps all, of the scenes we see here were also adapted in the OVA).

Fezzan, the ultimate slimeballs. Even more so than the rotten Empire nobles. With the nobles you at least can see their rotten core protruding from within. But with Fezzan you don't see the rotten mess until its too late. They're sneaky, the leader a master of subterfuge and manipulation. Rubinsky is playing everyone around him, the Empire, the Alliance, his fellow people there in the dominion, and even those earth cult psychos. Rubinsky just spins web after web moving around these people like pieces on a chess board. The whole episode showcasing just how secretly in control Fezzan is. Rubinsky trying to set them up to all take each other out then having Fezzan step in and control the galaxy. This man is out of his gourd, truly off the deep end of he thinks he can take out Yang and Reinhard so easily. Rubinsky thinks he's got it all figured out but I don't think it will be that easy.

One more greedy politician.

This episode is a simple illustration of how the economy controls and moves politics. Most political decisions have financial/economic incentives, and this episode is a good example of that. Even the most neutral and independent states can start taking sides if it means their economies will receive some damages otherwise.

Though, I have my own reservations about the leader of Fezzan. I suspect that he has ulterior motives, which wouldn't be surprising.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

It's disappointing to not see those usual seasonal addicts in the threads for this series when this is a great story. It amazes me just how much improvement has happened with this new adaptation since it started. Still, Rupert's new design made me laugh. The different approaches here compared to the original OVA series are very interesting as well.

Yang Wen-Li: "Duke Lohengramm has nothing to lose as a result of the emperor's defection. In fact, there's a lot more that he stands to gain from it. One is division in political opinions within the Alliance. Another is the justification of military action against the Alliance, under the pretext of the rescue and return of the emperor. On top of that, by amplifying the hostility toward the Alliance, he can foster greater unity within his own nation."

This is so wrong. Losing the emperor, who he has sworn to protect, should be devastating for Lohengramm. He can't even do that. Enemy agents can come from across the galaxy to the heart of the empire and steal the most valuable person from the capital, and they aren't even caught on their way out. In real-world history, this would be the best time to remove the ruler from power.

Divisin in political opinions in the Alliance? They just managed to snag the emperor. The head of the Goldenbaum family that has been the threat to them for their entire existence. This is the happiest day in Alliance life. And that's right after successfully defending the fortress against the enemy's best efforts.

Lohengramm's record so far:

Positives:
-Promoted lower nobility and commoners (This power base should be the only thing keeping him alive at this point)

Negatives:
-Caused a civil war in the empire
-Lost the most crucial fortress to the arch enemies
-Had his second-in-command killed right next to him because he didn't search prisoners properly
-Had the empire invaded by the enemy for the first time in history, so that they could even occupy planets. Imagine the psychological impact of this.
-Lost 80 percent of the fleet and 1.8 million men in a failed attempt to take back the fortress
-Lost the child emperor from right under his eyes, the basis for his own legitimacy, and failed to stop the kidnappers from leaving imperial territory

In real life, of course, you don't lose 80 percent of a fleet in a battle. The fleet will withdraw when it loses 25%, at which point it will be considered crippled. But in fiction you can get numbers like these, if you estimate that the audience wouldn't consider more realistic numbers impressive.

i dont get how are these things supposed to be "Reinhards records"

- Caused a Civil War - to most people in the Empire, the one who did was Duke Braunschweig an the nobles which gave a huge blow on the nobility an the old regime, the Civil War that Reinhard directly caused was the Civil War in the Alliance which gave a huge boost to the Empire, if anyone other than  Braunschweig was to be blamed it would be the one in power at the time Prime Minister Litchtenlade, not Reinhard
- Lost Iserlhon Fortress - how? Reinhard wasnt in command of that fortress, Reinhard wasnt in command of the Empires army either
- Lost his second in command - to most people in the Empire, that was Chief of Staff Obersteins fault
- Had the empire invaded by the enemy for the first time in history - again How? Reinhard wasnt in command, in fact it was his fleet that turned the allied invasion into a huge victory for the empire, if anything that make him look like a hero
- Lost a battle to Iserlhon - arguably Reinhards first defeat, he is not invincible, that is indeed his loss
- Lost the child emperor from right under his eyes - more like he allowed that to happen, an the people of the Empire dont care about the nobility anymore except for the few, loosing the last direct heir to the Goldenbaum Dinasty was a huge victory for Reinhard who wants that throne but has no right for it an many people are aware of it but at that point in the story they dont care, they see Reinhard as either a hero or, at least, an improvement over the Goldenbaums

as for estimates in battle, those are just estimates not rules, there are exceptions to every battle an we ve had insane commanders in history who dont give a f*ck about numbers an dont care about killing every single soldier in their side just as along as they themselves survive, claiming that "all armies retreat after X% casualties" is fiction

Fezzan is finally making their move. The war's about to shift favours towards one side or will it? Rubinsky has big ambitions but as long as Yang and Reinhard exists he won't be able to do as he pleases.
