I know most people have said that its American but the show clearly uses the Euro as its form of currency therefore it must be a country in Europe

(The Sub I Watched Did Have Slight Errors Where They Said "Yen" But If You Look At The Notes Itself Its Clearly Euros)

It Cant Be The UK as we use GBP (Great British Pounds)

So Yeah That's It Really, What European Country Do You Think This Is Set In??
My Guess Is France.

(My Apologies In Advance If The Show Did Actually State What Country Its In If That's The Case Then I Missed It)

It's in mainland Europe somewhere, looks a bit like rural Italy.
They definitely had Euros, but the family was trying to pay the 'bribe' in GBP (UK pounds) - so I guess they are brits living in Europe.
As a brit with family living in Europe I can see the characters have outstayed their visas and do not have official license to work etc.

I've found that Nafrece (show on the tablet in ep 3) is a fictional France of a anime called Madlax, and the two protagonist are very similars on the design.

This Madlax in on my PTW sometime ago, maybe it's time to watch.

That's because Yosuke Kuroda wrote both stories. It's more like a Shout Out like Ace Attorney mentioned the name of the country the first Dino Crisis game took place in since they're both Capcom IPs.

Nafrece, it is almost like "france"..
But the blonde girl (Eve) is really "britain" type of girl (from my perspective) but could also a france girl idk..
