From what I've been told, the manga is amazing and the anime is trash, as well the CG being terrible as well. I want to get into this series but in your opinion how bad is the actual anime really? Is the 1997 version any better? And lastly do you think there will ever be a better adaptation of berserk in the future?

Read the manga and after if you want you can watch the 1997 series and the movie trilogie. DO NOT watch that crappy cgi anime.

The manga is fantastic, for me the 1997 anime was a gateway to that, it’s great. I also enjoyed the 3 Golden Age movies.

The two more recent seasons are trash though unfortunately. The 2nd season is marginally better than the first but still trash, ugly, poorly produced show that doesn’t do the source material justice imo.

The manga is fantastic, for me the 1997 anime was a gateway to that, it’s great. I also enjoyed the 3 Golden Age movies.

You should read the Manga first of all, after that you are free to watch every adaptation
Even though everybody says the adaptation is shit, it's still enjoyable as a Berserk Fan to watch it and the openings are great :)

Don't waste ur time with this. 1997 ver is the best berserk adaptation and its worth your time. However even the 1997 ver leaves out a lot of content and isn't as good as the manga. The manga is the best medium to experience the series. It's a masterpiece, not only in my book, but in the majority of the animanga community. But it may not be for everyone, it is very gory and has a lot of rape scenes. Regardless, I don't think there'll ever be a berserk adaptation as good as the manga. The art of the manga is the greatest art ive ever seen. It cannot be adapted.

I started this series by watching berserk 2016. I dont despise it like many others but its certainly awful and is the worst adaptation of berserk. Watch the 1997 anime first. Its the best adaptation so far. Tgen if you want to get into the series more start the manga from the beginning. If you want to buy it physically then theres a beautiful deluxe edition tome that meausures a whopping 13×9 inches. Its absolutely gorgeous and is an easy reccomendation.
He died doing what he wanted, no matter what, right? I bet he was happy.

I watched the three Films and the Serie berserk 2016. The animation of the serie is awful, but soundtrack and story are nice. I loved it. But it would be a masterpice with better Animation. The Manga is better.

The 1997 series is a very good adaptation. The 2016 series is horrible.
