Pretty much a musical episode with a LOT of singing. I mean, if you like the style of this show with cool guys, then it's definitely for you.

I do kinda like the chereography and stylish orchestra though. It also has a dark gothic-like music theme for the performances. Not bad imo.

Seem like watching puzzle, So this is a male idol anime, and Ange or our MC is a big fan of a guy named Gil? Somehow I feel this anime will be Shounen AI, this art makes me sure, lol. Ange meets a panda, no it's a neko who looks like a panda. A truck came it was a band called Eclipse, Lots of female musicians there and yeah the singing was pretty weird, I mean the audience turned into visual prison? So what are they really, are they idols, lol. The moon is red and the band wearing black suits turns into vampires. I thought it would be a fight, they were in a band concert, damn. The scene when they bite their necks to suck blood is very erotic and when Ange saw them, and than Ange being a vampire, maybe. And yeah, this show pretty boring for me so skip....

All I can say about this show is: have you watched Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle before? Because it's the same Bishoujo A-1 Pictures X Aniplex work formula.

The reason why both you and I are here is because of Noriyasu Agematsu of Elements Garden fame with the music.

This Harajuku "Visual Prison" event of fangirls gone wild, the musical battle between groups Eclipse and Lost Eden in the face of MC Ange Yuki, makes me wanna re-watch HypMic for just one episode. One thing I shall give for this show: the gothic vampire themes reeks the Fujoshi bait of injecting feeling hard.

But still, watch this show if you're a fan of Fujoshi baiting, vampires and Elements Garden music.

it's exactly like A1's previous rap anime. I mean Aniplex seems to be using its studio to make music anime with very random content. Famous seiyuu, good music, visual and will sell well. OP is pretty good, that's enough for me.

Well, my old teenage VKei-fujoshi heart is filled : Vampires, Visual Kei, Bishounen, New talent.
it's like they took the most "fantasised" tropes and put them together.

Clearly it's full fanserv and I hoped for more storytelling than musics, but I can't lie saying I enjoyed so much this episode.

Damn if I were still 15yo I would have been obsessed with this show haha.

I am a fan of the J-Rock/Visual Kei scene so I've been interested in Visual Prison since it was announced. Unfortunately, after they dropped the first PV, I could already see that their intention wasn't to actually explore the actual VK scene or anything related to it.

That said... I did enjoy the first episode. Well, I like vampires, I like bishounen and I like the gothic/alternative style they have, so why wouldn't I enjoy it right?

The music is fun too. Their singing style can definitely be compared to the style of Visual Kei bands and that was really nice to see. The instrumental get close too. However, they're more like boybands trying to imitate VK... And I'm okay with that. I mean, I also like boybands, and it's enjoyable, so why not. I do hope this anime somehow makes people more interested in J-rock and Visual Kei though.

I gotta admit that it looks and sounds appealing, it's just not my style of series.

I now get why people view it as Hypmic but with more bishounens lol

My first impressions are "turn off your brain and just enjoy the music" lol. Episode 1 has a lot of confusing part but I'll let it slide since it's still ep 1 (duh). I'm looking forward how they'll gonna flesh out the story.

At this point they should just sing shirtless like Bakumatsu Rock. Maybe female fanbase prefer them to keep their shirt on loosely? I'm not sold on this yet because I prefer more mascular men but it's too early to judge because I haven't see their full body yet. So I'll keep continue to watch this.

Just randomly watched this without knowing what I was getting myself in for.

First things first, why is everyone so horny? I-m not anti-horny or anything, just... confused.
Also, is everyone male or are some of these people actually women. I would like to know for... reasons.

Otherwise, pretty okay. Will at least give it a couple more eps, before debating whether to drop.

I can't remember where I first heard of this anime but it's been on my PTW for a while and I was excited to see it started airing today.

That being said, I went into this completely blind.

I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't whatever the hell I just spent 24 minutes watching. I don't mind the whole fanservice-y vampire bishounen thing (I really liked Diabolik Lovers), but this just seems... very different, in a way. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and continue watching though since I enjoyed the music.

Aa a former bangya who abandoned the Visual Kei scene i feel nothing but cringe watching this. Especially since the “gothic” type visual kei bands never really were my type. But that’s just me personally.
The art is nice animation wise and the songs are okayish
But i feel like this story isn’t very deep and i think they should either focus on a music show OR a vampire show.

The ban members are all guys. In real life it’s common in the visual kei music scene in japan that some guys dress up as girls. Thes are called “onna-gata” which means a female role. The term comes from Kabuki theater.

Castlevania featuring Japanese Him and Nightwish.
"We, who hurt each other so terribly, will sit here licking each other's wounds. We damaged goods will each seek the other out in comfort. If you are to die tomorrow, I'm fine with my life ending then as well. But if you want to live for me for one more day,I'll go on living with you today as well. And thus begins a tale of kindred, bound by their scars. Soaked in red and written in black, a story of blood. One of which I'll never speak. Our very own, precious as it is, story of scars. And I have no intention of reciting it to anyone."

Lord have MERCY. I am about to BUST. BARKBARKBARK.

Those VOICES. GOD I creamed to these songs. Guilty Cross, Zankoku Shangri-La, whatever those other guys sang... Jesus I am in love already. I'm down so bad lol

I'm just in love with the music. That's the only reason I'm even watching this. As long as there is lots of good music, I'm okay with any mediocre plot. I'm hoping for many more amazing numbers.

On a real note, my only take away is the music. I like the designs a good little bit and whatever. But I'm just a sucker for music and voices here.

Enjoyed this lots! Usually not my cup of tea but the pacing + music kept me very entertained.
Animation was horrid and so was the CGI, some cool shots were nice but I felt like my file was actually cutting out animation or something.
Hopefully it stays this good, some people have been saying its confusing but all the plot was explained away pretty obviously.
Excited to see Oz form!

a music anime that made it good, i didn't expect it, because of the majority that approaches these kinds of things they put Yaoi among the characters, but in this anime there wasn't that.

But it seems like there's a conflict between these angels against these folks who are somber with the songs.

It gave me a really good laugh and I had to cringe in some scenes that my cheeks started hurting but I definitely enjoyed it.

How their sword handles are their mics, it looked so weird XD

I cracked up when that guy just so randomly started sucking off his blood XD

This anime kinda reminded me of Fairy Ranmaru.

The songs were good, all of them are my favourite VAs.

I died laughing when the girls were crazy fangirling over a group called ECLIPSE and yeah when they started singing, I got confused for a bit when the crowd disappeared except for Ange but anyways, the song is pretty interesting where this lyric "As the sun and the moon passionately embrace you into darkness" gives a gothic feel and afterward, there is another entrance of 4 other characters in a group called LOS EDEN performing and I love the harmony between them singing but got cringe when Saga bite Jack's neck and Jack *moaned* but honestly if vampires were real and someone bites my neck, I would do the same thing in a typical feel of pain lol. Animation wise when both the groups were performing is a combination between slaying and coolness, pretty similar to Zombieland Saga (Revenge perhaps?) but a lot more darkness ambiance and dramatic in a beautiful way. OK lastly when Ange sings "Guilty Cross", his voice is so angelic while Guil is playing the piano, also Guil's voice syncs very well when he joins along singing with Ange and there is this one symbol that I REALLY JUST NOTICED AFTER BOTH ANGE AND GUIL WERE SINGING where Ange's facial appearance: notice that both of his eyes are different; symbolises that he's half-human and a vampire and another thing I learned during this show is that only vampires live in darkness and to a certain extent where they can see the scarlet moon :O. Lastly, I also love the OP and ED as it focuses on the gothic style I'm looking for <3 SO overall, it's a mediocre start and I'm looking forward to the next episode :)

Beautiful pictures, good music, but the story is still at the level of fair use, but enough to follow. This is just the beginning It starts at a good level. Personally, I like the song because the song is very op because it means a lot. Wait to think about the next episode. whether the story is good or bad Although not popular abroad, but at Twitter, Japan, he is very popular. A lot of followers, reaching number 4 from the Twitter anime season Fall 2021.

But the ED. HOLY does it look GOOD! I loooove the visuals, and the song is actually kinda good.

I was thinking about saying something about the audience that fades and no one cares.

The protagonist becomes a half vampire out of nowhere, I didn't understand how vampires in this universe work, the moon chooses and he thought it was a good idea to make a half vampire or one of his parents was a vampire and he didn't know

The songs were good, I'll continue just for the songs and out of curiosity where the anime is going to go(I also have a soft spot for this type of anime, everyone has their guilty pleasure, this is mine)

There we go, that's the music I was waiting for. And 3 tracks, minus the OP, right off the bat, that's a very good sign. Strong visual integration too, pun not intended, especially with Guilty Cross at the beginning. Having the locations in the old MV match his path around town and the singers and lyrics appear beside him was a good touch.

Very blunt when it comes to story, though. I'm all for knowing character motivations, but maybe don't have Saga list them all so matter-of-factly.

Nice fashion design, also, with their stage outfits. Not so much eclipse, but Lost Eden and the protagonists have lots of style. Complementary motifs and designs, but each with enough distinction they could feel functional as part of a group. And the eyecatches too, a very good artstyle on those.
Well I for one already loved Lain.
