Welp, Seto is not messing around and he means business this episode.

The disturbance in the sky with that massive hole taking everyone showed how unpredictable events can be in this show. The Kasane scenes looked like something from a sci-fi thriller and seems she was familiar with a certain 'dream'.

Episode seems like a dark sign of the story arc...

Let the rebel games begin...of establishing who is friend or foe.

Yuito and Kasane getting caught up in the fire on the more-or-less factions created within the Others Suppression Force, and those Red Strings triggered from both MCs that mysteriously triggers a black hole to suck people into an unknown abyss.

Good thing that Gemma saw wrong in his alliance, and all that's left is him, Yuito, Tsumugi and Hanabi, to break down what is the real truth behind just blindly joining the OSF in the first place. Growth suppression, personal rehabilitation, it's all just a farce for the new face of its own government, and the latter side is winning in anticipation of retaliation, lead by Major General Karen for his own motive as well.

The shades of dreams will continue to haunt Kasane, and Yuito in knowing the full extensive truth. Reach your hands for the Red Thread of Fate.

Hmm, they are controlling him I know, but I really dislike Nagi, just kill him please 😑

I didn't understand anything, but it entertains hahah. This is getting a bit dark
I just hope Kasane makes it out of there alive, she's the only one worth it

Probably the last episode for me. The story is OK, but none of the characters are interesting or likable. Gemma is such a poorly written character. He betrays his team because he thought Seto might be doing bad things, and then he all of a sudden has a change of heart without much explanation? It would almost make more sense if they simply said he was under mind-control like Nagi.

I think for people who like this genre of anime will enjoy it, but I think I've had enough at this point.

I liked this episode more than the last one. The pacing felt better, so i hope it will be fine in the future.

That guy with invisibility simply peace out from the fight and never to be seen again. Dude probably went home, away from all the bs.

Also I counted, "Are you okay Kasane" was repeated 3 times in this episode.

Idk what it is, but something just feels off about the anime. It could be because I just know everything that’s going to happen from the game, but I don’t usually get that feeling from LN adaptations so I’m not sure. Today’s episode was alright, but still felt slightly underwhelming. Pacing is definitely good for a game adaptation tho.

For someone who hasn't played the game, the story is pretty vague at this point. This episode at least did a good job at explaining what was happening in the major fight earlier but the pacing is very inconsistent for me. Half of the time I do not understand what is happening at all. Things like those red strings, which I have never seen before.

What was this episode.

Is Psynet is like an artificial thing that the governmental pipeline just broke? OR it isn't, The show felt relatively calmed after the rushed third episode, but this doesn't even explain the mystery that this show contains.

And, That ending scene kind of explains The whole "Red string ga tebanasanai de" concept, But It doesn't explain the black hole formation.

I have to say that CGI monster shots were pretty fine. Considering the detail and their sheer number in a shot.

Well, rest in peace Seto. Nagi was brainwashed and probably drugged.
The rest got caught by the blackhole (ig).
Still confused with what's happening atm.

The monsters were pretty nice CGI isn't that bad.
It's getting dark.

At this current point in time, I'm not enjoying this anime. When I watched the early showing of episode 1, I was hoping for a way stuff. It's unfortunate but, I'm hoping that the next eps somehow pull it up.

WTF were those fights. So underwhelming for this show. Nagi juggling his donuts an Kasane + Yuito just holding rocks as shields. No intensity behind it. Felt a bit to rushed in my opinion

Agree with most of this. And even if he was a hundred percent confident Seto was evil how would attacking the whole team like he did make sense? Then we get another tearful sacrifice of a character we barely know. I'm inclined to hold on one more episode cause there might be something interesting here, but it's a mess.

The pacing is still too fast if you ask me but can't really expect too much. I thought they'd just follow Yuito's story but looks like they are mixing both.

Has anyone tried to find those codes that are supposed included with episode?

Yes Nagi, you actually look better on that form. However, that last sequence looks so off, really. He even went missing without even any trace after that, like what? Where's he goes? Seto's flying, but him no? I know the part where he's awake. But, was that really the actual thing that happened there? Okay then. If i can be honest here, the other parts also feels off to me. Its more like i am watching a separate parts that got mixed up into one place. Still, the interesting part finally has been reached. Whatever things happening there, i don't care. Lets just see whats up with those veiled dude that looks alike Yuito....

Blonde heterochromia dude was pretty sus just showing himself out of the fight lmao. I think that episode felt better pacing wise than the last episode, but everything still came out of left field. I wonder what that black hole was about. Did Kasane just wake up in the future? And that was Yuito in the japanese kind of hat and he was older, damn.

So they're just gonna let Gemma get away with what he did? Like "Oops I killed a bunch of people but now I see it was wrong." Tsugumi seems to be the only sane person.

Ah, Gemma explains why he betrayed his own team/Seto. Personality rehabilitation, huh what a nice way to say brainwashing. I agree with other comments saying that they forgave Gemma too fast and only Tsugumi is being logical.

Another fine pickle our cucumber heroes are in this episode! Kasane was the most popular name yelled this episode and Karen is still the worst match for a name. I mean maybe Bill or Fred ..... but Karen? Meanwhile it looks like this is going to save our heroine up in the sky:

Yea, looks like a lot of ppls aren't liking the way they're doing this series.

The Art and Animations aren't that bad, but the pacing and setting is just bad... they explain nothing about "Others" and "Abilities", where did they came from? (even if it's false, they should still have some sort of backstory to deceive the public in the series, but nothing...)

And the story feels kinda rushed or off.

___ ___ ___

And apparently everyone in the OSF knows about the "brainwashing"?..... yet no one did anything about it and just let it happen?... the fuck?

Also... "changing personality" my ass... changing personality doesn't mean you also change or erase memories.

a lot of questions

not a lot of answers

meh

currently still a 6/10, but trending very close to a 5/10 if the next episode is the same "quality"

there are no characters i actually care about at this point, which is a problem

I legit cannot get over how much better the anime conveys the story of the game than the game itself. Like, this is the first game adaptation anime I've ever seen that isn't total trash, but actually BETTER; at least so far! But I have no reason to think it's going to just fall off a cliff when they've been nailing it so great thus far!

So many things are setup and alluded to that just kind of happen out of nowhere in the game, so I can see the buildup. Things like Karen and what he's really up to; it literally comes out of nowhere at this point in the game, but it's been setup since episode 1 here.
Hell, we've even SEEN things like "Baki" in the anime, whereas the game mentions it, but we never see it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, it's super fun and engaging, but the anime just streamlines the narrative so much better, it's shocking. Maybe Kasane's route is better? But so far with Yuito's route, nothing is outright explained that well.

Gemma got a lot of development here, which I enjoyed and I can already see kernals of the others getting more soon. You have to play for 10+ hours just to get development of like 4 characters, and we're only 4 episodes in and we're moving through the cast. Gonna guess Kagero or Tsugumi will probably be next.
Kyoka, in the Yuito route at least, has barely even been seen in the background. And Seto's death was handled just as well; even though he's your commander in the game, he barely does anything, so he got just as much development here as there. It worked!

All in all, this series has been a surprise hit for me and I'm enjoying it! I like it better than the game and I hope it keeps this up! These writers knew how to tell this story a lot better.

Life can be cruel and unfair. At worst it can traumatize and cripple you. The desire for wanting things to return to the way they were can cost everything and changes nothing. The best way is to keep moving forward, struggle on.
Anger can be powerful but can only get you so far. Let people into your life even if some of them leave you in time.

Fight. Like. Hell. For everything and everyone you love. Always.
