i haven't yet finished anohana but i also don't care about spoilers and accidentally got spoiled important stuff anyway, what made you cry about anohana, personally i don't think i'll cry, mostly because the characters are annoying, but this was mostly to see what made people cry and if you cried even if you found everyone annoying

I’m on the last episode and haven’t cried yet don’t really know what would make me cry at this point its just some weird love triangle bullshit, came to cry instead cringed

I only cried on the last episode. Overall the anime was quite sad and well executed, but it didn’t hit me as hard as some other drama series. In the last episode I teared up but didn’t break down like I was expecting to. A good experience nonetheless but nothing special.

I cried a couple of times on anohana but I guess I just put it on because I wanted to cry to be fair.But the final episode though,I genuinely couldn't breathe because of how bad I was crying lol.yeah it's stupid and all but again,I just wanna cry dammit:D

i mean its the build up for you to know more of the side characters backstory with memma then it crushes you at the end

Just finished last ep, didnt cry. I came into it with really high expectations though but i am quite a softy for sad movies even when they are really really bad so fuck knows? Something in my food today?

At the last episode when all the Super Peace Busters could see Menma and not just Jinta and they all say found you. It made me cry so much.

I did not cry and actually didn’t even like this anime overall, I agree with you that the characters were weak but just the entire plot, I could barely sit through it

The last episode made me cry because it was so sad and menma was so cute and the was the first anime that made my cry like a bitch.

Seeing everyone cope by running away (hit hard for me, since I always end up trying to run away from my issues and it hit hard)
When Menma shown herself for the last time after she got her wish fulfilled (So she could actually rest in peace)
When that one character witnessed Menma's death and couldn't do anything about it.

Yeah, this anime was truly a tearjerker but a tearjerker I'll forever love.

The show is actually not that sad. Only last episode is very emotional when you see all of those kids overcome their trauma and finaly say goodbye and accept death of Menma.

Idk man, watched it when I was like 10, cried like a bitch back then and I don’t even understand it as a kid lmao. Now I think the song is so engraved in me that it just hit the emotional g-spot every time I hear it.

In all honesty when I started Anohana I was expecting to be crying all the way through you know. But instead it slowly built up the story until the final episode which hits like a truck. The reason for this is because you’ve spent all the time getting to know the story and the characters trying to figure out little plot points until finally all of that goes out the window and the ending just hits you hard.

Nothing made me cry. AnoHana didn't even make me feel the slightest bit sad.
Sure, I usually don't cry when watching even the most saddest anime, but Angel Beats and even Air got me very close to tearing up. Sorry to anyone who's actually somehow a huge fan of this show and doesn't want to hear any dissenting opinions, but I gotta be honest—those two aforementioned shows were better tearjerkers than this anime.

I agree with @marffa's post on this.

It didn't made me cry because I already got spoiled before watching the anime. Though I still enjoyed the show.

I cried the hardest after the episodes where you can see the effect Menma's death has on her family. If you find the characters annoying, I guess it's hard to get invested... but if you've ever had a loved one die, you can appreciate how well executed her mother's grief is.

The last ep oblivious but the side story for why yukiatsu was guilty over the death really hit hard.and I kinda bust down into tears when he was sobbing in front of menma but he couldn’t see her.

The last episode was easily the saddest scene. It wraps up the anime very nicely and takes aspects of every character and completely fleshes the story out.

I haven't had a good cry like this for a while. Really needed it. Last episode tweaked too many emotional chords for me, could barely watch it through my tears.

Have had too much death in my life, is hard to cope with it still sometimes.

I am happy that I got some feelings out from deep down in my dark heart.
