The trailer came out back in September 2020. I've been checking the Production I.G website for any updates, but there's still none. When do you think this season will start airing? Do you expect it to come out in 2021? I'm really excited about this show and the fact that this season will be a long cour! EDIT: The PV came out today (10/8/2021), and you'll find information in the video description about airing dates. Official PV It looks like they'll air the first three episodes with a one-month delay, then air the rest of the episodes weekly. I'm not sure why they're doing that, but it's coming out in March 2022. I'm looking forward to Spring 2022 already. |

I am expecting Fall 2021 (October) start date. That would make it around a year from the announcement which seems to be a norm. Also the Section that does LOGH did Noblesse and in October it would be around a year since that show finished production which is kinda a regular interval between IG's shows done by a Section. Winter 2022 if we don't get any news by the beginning of June I guess. |

If I may ask, how do you know what section in I.G works on which anime? I want to follow more of their updates. To follow which Section does what you need to follow animation producers as each animation producer is usually (not always) in charge of one section. These days it's difficult to track since few animation producers have left the studio in early 2010s and Production IG itself had smaller output during mid 2010s but these days it seems to have reactivated with some new animation producers taking the reins. I don't know if the studio is still organized in this way, so much of this are my assumptions that may or may not be true. IG should have 10 "Sections", I.Gzwei, outsourcing studio called IG Niigata, CG studio called I.G3D. Sections 1 and 2 should be support Sections, meaning they don't handle projects but assist other Sections in their work. Sections 3-10 and I.Gzwei are handling projects. Section that does LOGH Die Neue These is Section X (Section 10). This section is currently lead by animation producer Isobe Maaya. In the past it was lead by animation producer Kuroki Rui, though he still seems somewhat involved with this section since he is credited as "General Animation Producer" for DNT. You can also recognize this section by director Shunsuke Tada who has directed most of its anime, including Die Neue These. Anime made by this section are: Reideen, World Destruction, Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations and Tsubasa: Shunraiki, Bungaku Shoujo series, Prince of Tennis, Vassalord, Pokemon the Origin, Kuroko no Basket, Ao Haru Ride, Noblesse: Awakening, Legend of the Galactic Heroes and Noblesse (not 100% sure about Noblesse tbh since Isobe Maaya isn't the animation producer but some newer guys, but Shunsuke Tada is credited as Chief Direction and the section already did Noblesse OVA so it most likely is Section 10, which also aligns with the schedule I think). Another important section is the one lead by animation producer Keiko Matsushita, I think that's section 4? Not sure. Her credits are: Usagi Drop, Robotics;Notes, Genshiken Nidaime, Haikyuu!!, Haikyuu!! Season 2, Pigtails, Haikyuu!! Season 3, Welcome to the Ballroom, Run with the Wind and Haikyuu!! Season 4. Also one very important section is Section 5. That one was lead by animation producer Kawaguchi Toru. I don't know what the section is doing these days since Kawaguchi doesn't seem to be the one leading it as he has been working as a producer on CG anime produced together with Sola Digital Arts such as Ultraman and Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. But the anime he worked on as animation producer while he lead the section were: xxxHOLiC movie, xxxHOLiC, Sky Crawlers, Shinreigari: Ghost Hound, xxxHOLiC Kei, xxxHOLiC Shunmuki, xxxHOLiC Rou, Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san., Blood-C, Psycho-Pass. After that I am not sure if it was done at Section 5 but he produced Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou and was credited as Supervising Animation Producer for FLCL Alternative. Currently works on SAC_2045 and Ultraman. Wit Studio was also once a section of Production IG, Section 6. It was lead by the animation producer Tetsuya Nakatke who is now director of Wit Studio. Before Wit was formed this section produced: Otogizoushi, Tsubasa Chronicle Movie, Le Chevalier D'Eon, RD Sennou Chousashitsu, Sengoku Basara, Kimi ni Todoke, Guilty Crown, Attack on Titan, Hal -> Wit studio Section 9 is probably the most important section. It was shortly lead by producer Matsuya Yuuichirou and then by Nishimura Tomoyasu took the lead there. This one produced: Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (1st GIG, 2nd GIG and Solid State Society), Seirei no Moribito, Higashi no Eden, Library Wars, Ghost in the Shell Arise, Junketsu no Maria. After that it's impossible to track them, dunno if they did any other projects or if Nishimura Tomoyasu is still working at the company. I assume this section has been busy with upcoming Shika no Ou movie for the past years. Now for other curently active producers I can't even assume at which section they are. The active ones besides the mentioned and their works in recent times are: -Rui Kuroki (he seems to be leading more than one team at the moment since his output has been big in recent times): Shin Chuuka Ichiban! (cooking show done by NAS that IG is providing assisstance for), Psycho-Pass 3 and Pyscho-Pass 3 The First Inspector, Bem Movie: Become Human, Shin Chuuka Ichiban! 2, B: the Beginning Succession and he is also working on upcoming Fate/Grand Order Camelot movie. -Kouchi Bansho: Joker Game, Psycho-Pass Sinners of the System, Chinzei Hachirou Tametomo Music Video. (He seems to be overseeing a section together with Rui Kuroki since they both worked on Psycho-Pass) -Yagi Masako: Tokimeki Resutrant Movie, B: the Beginning, Kabukichou Sherlock. I assume she is handling upcoming anime for Adult Swim Fena The Pirate Princess but won't know until it airs. -Myoukan Yuuko: They are in charge of I.Gzwei which is working on Fafner Beyond. -Shun Fukudome: Mahoujin Guruguru (2017). After it he left and founded a new studio Qzil.la. -Masahi Ohira: Yuukoku no Moriarty |

I hope the full adaption does not go for 96 eps only, since the OG is equal to 130 normal anime eps, so they will have to cut a lot of things, kinda like uprising arc in AOT but for the entire series not just a season. |

Since it's gonna take a long time to produce (to have great art work and CG properly integrated in the final product), my guess is some time next year, maybe Spring or Summer 2022. This is something that I don't want them to rush, and I would prefer to wait an extra few months if it means we get 10/10 art and animation. |

I calculate right now that the earlist that the series will be finished might be 2027, 9 years since it began, appropiate since that is also the same time it took for the original OVA to be made. It could all change of course, This is all if they stick to doing two crours per season and not much of a gap between productions, otherwise we might be seeing 2030 for a finished series. |

They are obviously NOT going to air it this year, I just want to see PV with actual footage... They twitted in January, when they started Voice acting work and explained how they are taking extra safe measures because of Covid. In June, Sound director tweeted that they started sound MIX work. If someone here knows about anime production, maybe they can guess how far are they into production and how much work is left. I know that they started MIXing Seiran 6 months before airing it... |

It looks like production is going well, but they're definitely taking their time. It can't come out in 2021, it would've been announced early on, but I have hope for early 2022 or later in the year. Bill765 said: They are obviously NOT going to air it this year, I just want to see PV with actual footage... They have about 30 screenshots and some new character attaire designs in the logh reddit and discord I saw this because I am a logh server member of its discord and I believe they will set the trailer to air in September of this Year the same month they announced the new season of the new thesis back in 2020. I am also a member of reddits thread channel of logh if you want to see it just type on reddit r/logh thread when you scroll down you can look at some of the latest screen shoots. |

I'm as excited about this as everyone else. It's unlikely to be this year, too late for that, but hopefully the beginning of next year :D |

I haven't seen the original, so I wouldn't know, but I heard this adaptation has been following closely the original. So, it'll probably stop around episode 48 in the original give and take 2 episodes. its not really like that though, Kircheis died in 26 on the original while in this is 24, so its not the same, however, ending at a point similar to that would be pretty much the same as the ending of AOPT s3p1, both structurally and narratively. I hope the full adaption does not go for 96 eps only, since the OG is equal to 130 normal anime eps, so they will have to cut a lot of things, kinda like uprising arc in AOT but for the entire series not just a season. That's not how it works. The original OVA series went for 110 and with many fillers (whole episodes) they adapted all the 10 volumes of the novel. Any higher number for eps would stand for the Gaiden series which is very much a different thing on it's own, just like the 3 movies, from which one is an expansion on the first two episodes. So far, with minor alterations (S1 focused much more on the FPA, than the GE; and in S2 Edwards was killed with a more brutal weapon) to the original OVA series and more loyal to the source material (in almost all of the cases, the cut is exactly there where the book separates to another scene). Although the 24 episodes of Zoku-hen still fall short on the 28 episodes of the same arc (vol. 3-5). Mostly because it's an elongated one and looks like this: Eps. 27-34 - The Imperial siege of Iserlohn Eps. 34-39 - How the remaining nobles capture and abduct the young emperor, Erwin Josef II. Eps. 40 - Historical lesson on the rise of the Empire and the foundation of the FPA. Eps. 41-54 - Operation Ragnarök. The most likely cutting will be on the siege and the operation itself, since there wasn't a single battle yet, that would actually take up 2 episodes while the original series had at least 2 at this point: Astarte, Amritsar. And in this arc, there's the siege for one that goes on a pretty fair while and there will be the battle of Rantemario (which was a full episode long thing), some minor battles on luring out Reinhard (for one episode long and that had 3 or 4 in it), and lastly the peak of the whole operation, the battle of Vermilion, 2 whole episodes long with a slight addition in the next one). Also since Vermilion is the bloodiest battle so far (the first time you can see soldiers' actual blood and viscera and their tormentation and agony), it very much likely to be censored too which also means cut scenes nowadays. So basically it will look like this. Although, some announcement might happen this year (most likely premier date). If they want to squeeze it into the spring season, now is the best time to give a date, although the whole next year is open to them. |

Saw this on my phone from a ANN article earlier: Season premieres as 3 theatrical features on March 4, April 1, May 13 before 24-episode TV airing I wonder how this is going to work out exactly. |

I was not including the gaidens in my 130 eps appraisal of the OVA, but the entire 110 OVA eps have the lenght of 130 normal regular 21 min anime episodes. As the OVA went on the eps were getting longer, and removing the OP/ED if you add up the runtime of all eps and divided by 21, it gives you 130. that is why I see a full run of 96 eps a little short, unless the eps get longer or overall more eps per season. It wont made it a bad adaptation by any means, it will still be good, but why go for so low when they can reach the good spot of 105+ 21 min eps and not cut things. |
