I'm a chill guy that loves to watch anime for fun and I've grown to be picky lately. Take that as you may ~
My ranking changed around mid 2015 or so from my original (see below). I've somehow become even more lenient with my rankings, go figure. I still don't give below a 5. Basically:
10- anime fits my mood perfectly and what I had in mind, no major faults that detracted from this
9- anime is a fun watch, great stuff, enjoyed it, something minor was annoying (character, story-related etc...)
8- anime was a good watch and still enjoyable but feels like it somewhat squanders its potential or it was a bit boring or felt like dropping at one time or a multitude of other reasons
6/7- anime was ok, major faults found that were hard to overlook or storyline was terrible or became terrible. I rarely give out 6/7, haven't since mid 2015 and would rather drop than wasting my time and complain later about it.
I don't have a specific favourite genre though romcoms like Toradora and mech anime like Knights of Sidonia etc... are always first in line to be watched lol. I also love anime that are really silly and don't take themselves seriously. My rating system is based on how much I enjoyed something and is very subjective though a rough guide follows:
10- Adored it! Very captivating or Heavy moe or very fun or very gutsy anime
9- Loved it! Great characters and story, missing that something to get a 10.
8- Very Good!
7- Good!
6- Fair! Story needs more work. Decent characters, art and sound.
Read your review of Isekai Izakaya and thought I'd mention that Isekai Shokudou's doors were connected to the same world but just different regions of the other world; there's continuity in both as well as we find that the waitress in Shokudou finds work housekeeping for one of the restaurant clients, but overall the food's more important-so no big deal either way. Though I did find it a little odd that you prefer Izakaya over Shokudou considering that Izakaya doesn't really have a stable income where as Shokudou only being open 1 day of the week allows them a source of revenue for their ingredients. You could say that Izakaya runs on Shinobu's savings since she was rich...but as she ran away from home I just don't find it realistic that they would need to open an eatery right away with her so distraught that she'd need to pray for its success if she wasn't pressed for money before their opening...I'm not really going anywhere with this though, everyone likes what they like. I'm glad you saw both of em though. :)
