I mean Isekai is hard to fill but seriously this low I know we've all seen worse. Everyone asks for something original but then the original becomes cliche and then we want more original but seriously this series isn't that bad so why did is the score dropping. If you have a good reason please suggest a new type of MC to replace the cliches you don't like.

As a manga reader, I'm giving this show 3/10 because it absolutely butchers what would otherwise be the top 5 isekai series for me. The studio clearly doesn't give two fucks about this show, and there are no excuses for it. Just because source material is good doesn't mean the anime is good. If you want to know how that feels, just ask Berserk fans about Berserk 2016.

The score drops because the manga purists will find every excuse to trash on this adaptation.

Manga reader here.

It's kinda sad tbh. Imo this is one of the best isekai series I've seen. This show is what isekai should be. Popular isekai out there always ended being a fantasy show with isekai aspect only in the beginning which is wasted potential imo. What make isekai great is there's 2 world, most isekai only explore the other world and forget about original world. But in this series, they really explore both world, culture, norm, etc. Both world are developed and there's a problem in each world. Both world also had some similarity and the way they link it is great. The MC isn't a naive good guy or a complete edgelord. The MC and the other cast also had a bunch of small development here and there.

From my perspective, this show doesn't try to be unique and deliver something new. But this show is trying to explore the isekai genre to it's max potential. And I think they succed, the plot is solid, the character is solid and the most important thing, the isekai theme is still strong. Shield hero, reincarnated slime, overlord, etc, most of popular isekai just become a fantasy and throw the original world away. But not in this show.

This is better than most isekai and even a bunch of popular one with higher score and popularity. I never really care bout Mal score tbh but Ik that ofc higher score could attract more people to watch. At this point I don't think the score will rise, just hope this adaptation doesn't affect the manga. The manga is still far from ending and there's a bunch of stuff need to explain, I hope the manga could still going, I don't mind 20+ volume, if it had a proper ending.

I like it - since It is refreshing compared to "annoying characters" isekai like shield hero and Re:Zero (dropped them both).

Edit: And how is the manga differnet?

So far I only see an anime that progresses pretty slow - could have been a bit faster. Usually the manga readers complain if it is adapted too rushed but here it feels fast. I don't know the manga. But any slower and I might have dropped it.

Cause I'm looking forward to the stuff happening after this quest. (When they get send to the real world again and stuff.) Them just traveling ... was less good stuff to endure until the better stuff appears again. Still okay with the nice (and not annoying) chars.

Not sure why it's so low, it's probably one of the more detailed isekai animes I have watched. Maybe the manga ppl are downvoting? I should read the manga after this, this series is pretty interesting. Nice take on isekai. Many unique tropes in this one.

I'm still giving it a go because i saw some potential but so far it's pretty generic. They try to give the characters depth but it falls short.
The setting is quite generic even though there's a few quirks that set it apart.
For MAL metrics a 6 might as well be a 3 but if a 6 means "fine" then it's accurate.
Ok writting, ok voice acting (i confused Makoto Koichi with one of my favorite VAs Yuu Kobayashi, so props to her but her character is underutilized) and mediocre animation and character design.
