| Makima and this chapter as a whole creeps the fuck out of me, the dogs' eyes creepy, i still liker her though, i'm a simp like Denji. It's kind of weird to see the fucking cold blooded control devil assassin, living in an apartment filled with dogs. I don't know if Fujimoto intended for this chapter to be this unsettling, but if he did, this was damn near perfect as were all of the last few chapters as shit started to happen. Denji is fucking broken right now, and people are calling him retarded, fantastic. Chainsaw Man, best ongoing manga of 2020. |

| People saying they don’t know why the chapter is unsettling... Dogs are known to be devoted, loyal creatures that will do anything to please their owners. They are easily controlled. Now for a normal person, it’s not unsettling for them to have a dog. But Makima is NOT a normal person—imo, this chapter was unsettling, not cute, because the number of dogs Makima has just shows how much she loves control. That’s all. She doesn’t love the dogs like normal dog owners do—she loves dogs because of how controllable and obedient they are. I applaud the mangaka for managing to convey creepiness with this situation... that’s some good writing. |
