The manga is a reboot of the original series penned by Rui Takatou (Mikarun X, Tetsuman: Tekken Comic). Still even listen to her theme song from the OST and frequent her wallpaper on my PC. Besides that would of prefered if they'd just did an alternate world setting or something not a reboot... Would appreciate it if they either toned down or got rid of it completely the yuri tone, could do without that pointless sh*t and keep it friendly or put in some males for them to interact with like in the OVA if want that vanilla relationship. If they can make it more intense then the original I'm in. The preview image doesn't appeal to me at all compared to the TV series. At least give it some love with the character details, smh. Till then Akari make room for me in your Akari cardboard house I'm not expecting much from this. |

| I remember the old one, there were two versions already, why not a third? Although the way they handled a certain character in one of them did not sit well with me AT ALL and for a far future society really screamed 20th century thoughts about gender and sexuality. If they do keep that one character being a certain way I really hope they do it much better, or else I am not watching. |

| I’m surprised that AIC isn’t credited for "animation production", as the IP is owned by AIC Rights. Even though, AIC doesn't have a animation department anymore, since 2016, as they outsource the actual animation work to other studios. And... the animation looks kinda cheap, but that's to be expected with Seven. |

There were actually plans to produce a new Saber Marionette anime in 2015, titled the "Re:Anime Project", after Hiroshi Negishi's Animation Innovation Content Project (AIC Project) acquired the IP in 2015, with plans for it to air in 2016. As of now, AIC Project's tradename has been changed to Saber Project, and their hasn't been any news since, about the "Re:Anime Project". The only new news about Saber Project, that I'm aware of, is that they established a subsidiary called "Saber Direct", which focuses on merchandise and comics. Quick side note: AIC Project is not related to Anime International Company (AIC), besides licensing the AIC brand from AIC. Reasons for the company name to be changed to Saber Project is unknown, but probably it was to avoid brand confusion. Although, Hiroshi Negishi and Toru Miura are still on good terms. |

| Seriously after watching the first episode of reboot for nostalgic reason, I find that it is a complete trainwreck / snoozefest and terrible character building with all over the place pacing, terribile animation, unlikable/ unrelatable mc. It has nothing that makes a sport anime good. Then I just open the old Battle Athletes Victory ep1 and rewatch again. Holy moly, this is good. My fund memory of the original serie is not only nostalgic. The OP instantly click, and the initial match alone built great tension and characterization. All this terrible reboot does is make me want to rewatch the whole original serie again. Seriously, just go watch the original serie if you missed it. Drop this hot garbage reboot. |

Some people rate down anime just cuz they are not used to the older anime artstyle lolz. Even though the animation is way better than many modern seasonal anime with so much cut corner and zoom in face. |
