It looks like Fujima Sakura is featured more prominently this week compared to the other cast. I have a feeling the show dedicates to focus on at least one character each week in weekly format.

The background storytelling about her is important though considering Sakura's connectiion with her grandmother.

A good episode focused on Sakura, her backstory with her grandmother was kinda sad but that's why she's here now I guess

I already liked Sakura a lot but after this episode I think she's my favorite character in the series. Sweet, kind, cheerful and pure. <3
Great episode on the whole.

The scene with Miu's Mom giving her lunch and sending her off was wholesome.

I like that they brought out Sakura's character without having to rely on overly dramatic events like most idol anime. She was an adorable kid and loved her grandmother and I loved the scene where she sees the Sakura tree for the first time.

The scene where she encourages everyone to cheer up and smile was beautiful. The photo shoot montage had a lot of nice shots as well.
Little ominous ending there but since the time limit is still over a year away, I guess we won't revisit her circumstance for a while. Her parents appear to understanding and nice so I don't think it'll turn out to be too big of an issue later but let's see.

One day I'll be able to see the Sakura bloom in person.. Another really great episode, Sakura's backstory was predictable but still really sad. Her grandma was basically her mother so losing her left a big hole in her heart, which hopefully the girls will be able to help with. Looks like a Kono episode next week.

I really hate how slept on this is. The first episode felt a bit off pacing wise so that probably turned some people off, but it's a really interesting story and certainly better than LoveLive!'s first season

Really good episode.
So this episode focused on Sakura. Her backstory was sad since she really loved her grandmother.

The cover and the other pictures were nice.

"The Deadline is one year"...Are we getting those parents again who will make problems for their girl as idol?
Anyway very good episode. We learn more about another girl again. The solo ED is very nice!

We got enough backstory and spotlight on lovely Miu, so it was nice to have more details on the other cast members. If this is the formula for rest of the series, then it's gonna be great.

This week's episode focused on Sakura's backstory, her relationship with her grandmother and with her parents. We get to knwo more on Sakura, and i find that great. Most typical idol anime (that i've seen) won't necessarily focus on characters' backstories, and i find that this is a nice touch to an already great anime.
Looking forward to next week's as always!

holy fuck that english though, sounded really good.

but Sakura was kinda one of the meh characters in this show so far so didn't really care about her backstory too much

That being said though, next ep seems to focus on Miyako. Wonder who the guy is, her brother or her lover/crush or both? Could just be a friend but that would be lame

For starters, Sakura's seiyuu, Sally Amaki (who also voiced Betsy from Kaguya-sama) is a japanese girl born in America (which inspired her character's backstory). She spent her childhood there, that's why her English is really good.

Out of the 11 members, Sally obviously gained the most overseas fans due to not just adapting western culture, but also quite a memer.

I mean, they allowed her to go to a complete another country. It's not like they are some kind of villains due to the promise made. It's kind of unreasonable what she did to go alone there and all and she accepted the condition to be able to do it.

Sally didn't spent her childhood there but more than 18 years on LA before going to Japan to try to be a VA. Also, while she is the most popular here, she's one of the least in Japan for obvious reasons as many of the reasons for why she's liked here won't resonate with japanese people.

Not going to lie Sakura's home looked a lot like the LA area, and I am pretty sure that was very intentional.

Miu's family, most particularly her mom, went from being unsupportive to being awed that her own daughter actually tried to fit out of her own mold.

Whereas Sakura's the main character for this story. Her fluent English doesn't disappoint, given her background.

So that's why, thanks for the information follow-up.

To see Sakura's life mainly influenced by her frail but healthy grandmother is something I didn't expect, quite lovely I'd say. And to see the idol group's next venture to a place that encapsulates memories for said character, lots of emotions run amok.

And finally being able to see her grandmother after so long, moments before her passing, tears of joy and regrets, that the same cherry blossom tree that once budded with life, has withered. Could say that both shared life extensively, quite sad though.

In the end, the venture was somewhat of an unexpected success, a memoir to "Singin' in the Rain".

Surprise, surprise. Good episode.

Jesusf*christ, Miyako's got a love interest. I thought Ayako would be the one to be placed on that plot, hell, even Miu.

This is true, 2 of the most popular nananiji members in Japan are/were Reinyan and Meimei (before she graduated), I always thought Sally was the most popular 🤔

Nice episode for Sakura. She had a very polite, loving grandmother. Sucked to see her pass away.

I dont want Sakura to separate after a year :(

My favorite episode so far, it felt so personal and nostalgic, Sakura was already best girl so this only makes it better, I was getting ready for grandma to have an accident while going to the top of that hill but thankfully she passed away in peace.

Nice, wholesome episode. I'm really glad that they're taking the one-character-per-episode approach. I feel like that's the best way to do short series. Especially when the cast is this big.

This girl who voiced Sakura, Amaki Sally is actually pretty good. I think she can become good seiyuu.
