the idea itself of sky pirates is pretty cool, but Mika single-handedly beating them the fuck up and stealing their provision was just his character image boost. frankly, i expected to see some kind of bigger threat coming from them, shame this wasn't the case

What the heck? This episode just ruined a perfectly good action scene. Suddenly, Mika gets a good bag of food and he becomes a child in a candy store, and that moments ruins the pace of the scene. It's such a shame that the pirates were beaten so easily, I expected them to be a bigger threat. Drifting Dragons is not a bad show by any means, but at the same time, it isn't trying to be great, just good enough.

Another exciting episode, Mika was bad ass. Now I'm interested in Mika's past, maybe he was a pirate or something before.

Pirates but they took the wrong prey and anded up becoming the prey themselves.
Which made the episode pretty interesting to watch.
Also the lack of meat was showing this episode.

I was thinking that they might kick the pirates off their pirate ship and then tow it to a city and sell it.

Agree with a lot of the comments that it became just about mika again, and that it sort of ruined a wonderful bit of action. The moments when they fought back as a crew were compelling. I find Mika is one of the least interesting characters. Shame, the first half of the episode was really exciting.

Silly sky pirates, thinking they could deal with the real hunters and above all with the crazy Mika while he is on an empty stomach. Kinda expected a bit more action from the whole crew and some tactics since this is the first threat that isn't some trouble caused while hunting dragons.

I also associate myself with the comments of those who criticize this episode for the wrong choice made mid-episode. An episode that started with excellent premises, but then everything fell apart for a central part in really bad taste, which ruins a narrative that saw an interesting beginning and a very epic ending in its atmosphere. An example of how a very good story can be thrown away. Direction and screenplay that fail in the central part of the story. A wasted opportunity that would have increased a greater consideration in the public towards this anime series and created greater attraction in those who had not yet started this anime, thanks to the positive comments of those who were already watching it. Excuse me for the phrase, but the Japanese are sometimes really good at doing "karakiri".

Absolutely terrible ep...

Whole anime is just meh but this childish "pirate raid" execution was the worst so far.

The team approached an abandoned ship and find out it was a ruse to get them distracted by pirates. Mika dights his way and gets meat from the pirates after boarding them and having a fight woth their men. In the end he managed to replenish their meat store and even spotted a dragon for them to hunt. Ok episode, a lot more on the comedy side this time around but I welcome that development for this series.
