Kairi is still pretty badass in this franchise, I'm glad to see he hasn't lost his touch.

Quite an intense episode at this workshop. I also find the battle outside in the rain to be pretty dope with Lord El-Melloi and Kairi teaming up to take care of business. Gray is also quite a badass this episode too.

So Gray is another version of Saber/Artoria?
If i understood this case correctly - owner of the mansion wanted to rule fairies, lured one of them in, and used eyes of the Wills to create new fairies by killing people? And at the end a fairy that killed owner of the mansion took Wills to the land of the dead.

RHONGO....MYNIAD!!

Holy shit, this is great! The build up, animation and OSTs throughout this scene (and this episode overall) are so awesome! Sasuga Troyca.

Good to know more about Gray this episode, even tho a little.

My boy Wills fighting with combat knives are pretty cool too. And of course he would went to the fairy land, especially with that Fairy babe.

I wish Sisigou would have some more screentime later on.

So it's clear Adashino is an idiot... I've never seen someone so confident and prideful be so wrong, so consistently and consecutively, with no sense of shame or regret.

She wasn't trying to be right, she just wanted to get custody of the workshop because of the documents.

She's not an idiot, totally the opposite.

Oh no, it's not that she guessed wrong, it's that she doesn't care about the actual truth. She never even tried to solve the case in the first place.

Her true mission wasn't to investigate the deaths and find the culprit, it was to find the information the father had on Rail Zeppelin, the Mystic Eyes Train, and to frame Wills, the heir to the mansion, so the Policies Department can seize the mansion and acquire that information.

In the end, Adashino revealed that she found the information she needed and no longer cares what happens next.

That's why Waver was so pissed at her. She's an official investigator who manipulated the situation due to an ulterior motive, without a single regard for justice or the truth she's meant to uncover.

Yea, I dunno about if I buy that. Considering none of her solutions would have solved anything, even if they weren't suppose to, and she achieved her goal, that was through luck and the fact that people smarter and more well equiped than her were around. Otherwise she'd be dead.

And that would have gotten her killed on her own. Not caring doesn't make her somehow smart. Sure she would have succeeded in framing him, but she'd have died or let a massive mess run about. Now if you wanna try and tell me she was trying to play or use Waver, I'd think she's even more of an idiot because only a fool would think an intelligent opponent stupid. It just seems she got lucky and was waving it about. Especially considering she waved it about. Now she revealed something bad about her character and ruined potential trust for no reason. Better to be thought of as a fool than a malicious potential enemy.

None of this would have happened if Waver didn't activate the workshop and attracted all the Black Dogs directly to the mansion, in the first place.

If Waver hasn't shown up at all, she'd have gotten the information she needed and either called for backup or just escaped via the underground cave, which she'd surely discover, considering that Wills was coming to the mansion regardless and he knows about the cave.

Everything went to shit precisely because Waver went there. He solved the case and made Adashino's mission that much harder. He complicated everything for her.

Now she revealed something bad about her character and ruined potential trust for no reason. Better to be thought of as a fool than a malicious potential enemy.

Waver already knows her from the Adra Castle case and already knows she can't be trusted. One can only assume she had ulterior motives in letting Waver know as well.

Have you seen the cover for the Rail Zeppelin arc? She's heavily involved ther eas well.

So making herself look like an even worse and less trustworthy person and gloating about it is your idea of a smart person? Good to know.

What I actually think is this is what happens when a normal person tries to write a super smart person. It doesn't work.

Seeing gray use rhongomyniad sent shivers up my spine... THAT PART WAS SO COOL ❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!!!!!

It's a good thing that the anime is taking note of Waver's obsession with seeing Iskander again( of course I can see why and if I were in that position I too would feel the same) because , if left alone it could fester into the worst kind of desperation that will undoubtedly lead to ruin...
Aaaaahhhh but I so want to see them reunite!!!!!!!!

After watching five episodes , I have come to the conclusion I know shit about the clock tower and how magicians in the Nasuverse work, because half of the reasoning and deduction waver used went right past me.agghh/audible sigh, I have to research this don't I? Homework... OH DREADED HOMEWORK, HOW I HATE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

Well on the plus side, I know I'm in for this anime for the long haul, and I honestly can't wait until we get the lord el melloi event/ reines event in fgo❤️👍🤤

Again, Waver knows she's a bad person and never trustworthy and she knows it. He dealt with her before personally and knows what she's about.

She didn't gloat, she intentionally let him know about what she was doing in the mansion, most likely to get him interested in the Rail Zeppelin train.

She only revealed a piece of information when it directly benefited her.

I dunno about you, but to me, she seems like she played her cards just right.

Then if she knows it and he know's it, why is she treating him like he doesn't know it? Everything she did would scream "she's treating me like an idiot by offering these stupid solutions and obviously wants something and is setting a trap". If someone knows you're already their enemy, it doesn't seem like a good idea to do stuff to make things worse such as the stuff in this episode.

I dunno what qualifies as gloating to you, but that sure does to me. And great, get someone who's already caused problems for her further involved in her life when he already doesn't like or trust her. Solid plan. Great gamble.

You should know because I said what I think. She seems like an idiot, or more aptly, the result of a normal person trying to write an incredibly smart person. a problem that will show itself more as the series continues to go on. And considering this guy's script writing history, I totally stand by that statement and can't wait to see how he blemishes Fate's name again.

I don't know if we've watched the same show, because it's pretty clear how passive Adashino was. She never investigated, she never offered ideas or solutions. All she did was stand around and accuse Wills in every opportunity she can have. She's acting biased because she does want o frame Wills and there's no point in hiding it in front of Waver. He already knows she's up to something by framing him, he just doesn't know why and probably doesn't even care.

If she doesn't push for the framing of Wills, there's a chance she'll lose the mansion to him and with it the information.
Waver is here to solve the case, so the best course of action is to let him do whatever he wants. In the meantime, better focus on the actual mission and find the information about the train, which is exactly what she did.
If she found it in time Waver sloving the case wouldn't matter. If she didn't, however, all she can do is insist on implicating Wills so she can have the mansion to herself to search it later.

We don't really know why she wants him involved in the train case yet, as that hasn't been revealed at this point, to judge if that was smart on her part or not. All we know that she currently wants him involved and she pushed the right buttons to achieve that.

You once again seem adamant on this point. Don't force a conclusion until you satisfy the argument.

Adashino's objectives are in line with her actions, so far. If you think she acted in a dumb way, explain how she was supposed to act and how exactly would that better achieve her objectives.

Adashino's objectives are in line with her actions, so far. If you think she acted in a dumb way, explain how she was supposed to act and how exactly would that better achieve her objectives.

Assuming I interpret your description of them meeting in the past correctly as well as their relationship, her actions should seem extremely shady and out of character. Oh yes, super passive, trying to get this guy killed at every possible turn with half-assed justifications that are dispersed with a hand wave. And she did offer hypothesis that were discarded because they were obviously wrong. Such as killing blondie to close the gate. A mark of true intelligence is minimal necessary action and a lot of what she did seemed pointless.

You seem to forget you said "I don't know about you" so I answered and reiterated why. It's a logical conclusion. This guy is the idiot who was/is the script writer for Boruto and Apocrypha. It's exactly a satisfied argument. An idiot cannot write a smart person who actually makes smart decisions. Just like a history teacher couldn't write a science textbook. And this guy has literally not written anything good. So where exactly is my conclusion or logic flawed here? Stupid person cannot write smart person because stupid person doesn't understand how smart person thinks. Writer stupid, evidence BORUTO. Ergo, character is stupid and will continue to show stupidity, in addition to the already mentioned stupidity.

Now that there is a fallacy. I don't need to suggest smarter decisions, only identify stupid ones and explain why. Acting out of character, causing unnecessary strife / grief, taking unnecessary risks, relying on people unfriendly or hostile to you all seem like bad ideas. The only reason this all worked out was because luck and writing.

Anyways, this is a ridiculous argument and you're forcing your conclusion just as much. The pot can go bother some other kettle.

I already said my piece about Adashino and why she was biased in her accusations and passive in her investigation, so I won't pursue this further. There doesn't seem to be a point.

I will, however, comment on one thing. All the anime-original content (episodes 1 through 6) were either written by the main creator Makoto Sanda, or under his supervision.

Kodachi Ukyou, the scriptwriter for Apocrypha and Boruto, only works on translating Makoto's text to an anime script and to ease the process of storyboarding.

He did NOT write this story or any story in Case Files.

Not bad, Gray really has some power in her sleeves, right? :)

Kinda liked this story and how Wills went to the land of fairies, pretty bittersweet ending.

Also, what Kairi said to Gray in the end (あいつにはお嬢ちゃんが必要だ) wasn't made justice in the subs, he basically said that She is the only woman he needs, that's why she blushed suddenly.

So Waletta was the one who died and now Adashino has greater reasons to suspect Wills, but Waver seems to have found the real culprit.
Waver asked for Shishigou's collaboration to resolve the case, something that seemed quite reasonable due to Necromancer's abilities that Shishigou possesses.

Gray surprised Shishigou by eliminating the Black Dog, Gray may seem fragile, but she is too strong and Waver had to reveal Gray's true identity, Arthuria's spear, rhongomyniad.

Reines pouting was so funny, she did not find it pleasant to be used as a catalyst for the ritual that her brother performed, I also loved seeing Reines' mystical eye again.

In the end, Wills's own father was responsible, the workshop turned out to be a building designed to kill and as for Mr. Trevor's death, the fairy that Wills and the others invoked was responsible for his death as punishment for cheating Wills .

The fight against the Black Dogs was incredible, Shishigou is still the badass I remembered of Apocrypha and Wills surprised me with his fighting ability with those combat knifes, but who took the episode was Gray when she released Rhongomyniad and got rid of the Black Dog alpha.
In the end Wills decides to sacrifice himself to close the door to the fairy world, although it seemed more like something he wanted since he met the fairy that captivated him.

The conversation that Adashino has with Waver left me with a lot of curiosity, Adashino found information about Rail Zeppelin, the train where you can get mystical eyes, Adashino made Waver angry when he heard that this was her true objective.

The advice Shishigou gives Gray was wise to say, Waver's regret for what happened in the holy grail war still haunts him and Gray must be close to him, so Waver is safe when he reaches a dangerous point , blushing Gray was so cute.

I liked this anime and I already look forward to seeing Fate / Zero, although some acquaintances who already saw Fate / Zero told me to prepare myself to see suffering.
TROYCA continues to surprise me with the quality of the anime they have made so far, I hope the studio can make another adaptation of this franchise, so far it has left me satisfied.
I am pleased to know more about Gray and his true identity, now it is more than clear why she looks so much like Arthuria, I also like to see Shishigou protect Gray, Shishigou that way (he reminded me when he and Mordred fought together).

That workshop is super dangerous, I knew Wills wasn't the culprit. Adashino should've apologized even a little, after all Wills did give his life to close the gate.

This was enjoyable, both action and the little mystery!

Such a delight to see Rhongomyniad being animated. TROYCA is doing a pretty nice job in the animation aspect if I'm honest.

Nice episode as always. Despite some major complications, the case was successfully solved in the end. Though it was a bit bittersweet to see Wills deciding to sacrifice himself in order to save the others.

Anyways, Rail Zeppelin case already sounds quite interesting. Looking forward to the next episode!

P.S.: Already missing Kairi, by the way. I hope he reappears later on in the series. Even if it's just for fanservice purposes.

Great episode!

So from reading here, these episodes were all original content, if so I can't wait what the adaptation content will be like! Hoping to see more characters from the Fate series from this point forward. Hoping we'll still see a bit more of Kairi Shishigou after this episode.

Since it wasn't quite the biggest, the reveal of Gray being related to King Arthur, was to be expected. I do have to say, that spear, "Rhongomyniad" is a handfull to spell XD

The battle was quite nicely done, I definitely liked the animation of it all, especially the scene of the realease of Rhongomyniad, pretty well done. TROYCA hasn't disappoint me so far, can only say keep it up!

It starts to resemble the "Lord El-Melloi II Pairings Files". First ambiguous yuri hints in the first arc, now elves in this.

So basicly Gray is a Lily version of the "bad" Altria Pendragon (Lancer) from Camelot in FGO?

Also TROYCA is doing some amazing job here!

Lily version? Do you mean Yuri Saber? Or am I misunderstood something?

As you probably now, English sub is laughably bad (fucking Aniplex), so here's correctly translated line about Gray's identity:

"A clan cloned King Arthur" (literally "designed a clone of King Arthur").
Yeah, this shit line about "potrait" or whatever.

Just Aniplex being Aniplex.

Its a thing in fate, Lily "versions" are younger selves/looks of servants.

Nope not "that" Saber, In FGO they are adding "Lily" in the servant name to precise that this is their "kid" version just like those two:
- Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) (Santa Lily) FGO Wiki
- Medusa Lily (Lancer) FGO Wiki

@Swagernator Isn't Gray just a descendant of Saber?
