 Reports announced on Friday that seiyuu Fuyumi Shiraishi died on Thursday. Her family found her lying unconscious at her house. It was later confirmed that she died from ischemic heart failure. She was 77 years old. The funeral will be held among family.Shiraishi was born in Beijin, China in 1941 as Fumiko. She graduated from Toho Entertainment school and experienced musical while she was still studying. She was on the Japan Theater Dancing Team. Her first seiyuu job was Nina Belton from Big X in 1964. She also voiced Ivan Whisky from Cyborg 009 (TV), Sapphire from Ribbon no Kishi Pilot, and more. She was also an actress, radio host, and narrator. I didn't even notice that. This stands out then as a more natural age of death compared to several of the latest then. I just automatically assume the person was in their 60s at latest when they die in the anime world. |

| Damn. I actually went out of my way to watch Ashita no Joe instead of reading it. Sachi's voice was rambunctious and loud, but it was unique. I can still hear her voice clearly in my head. May the seiyuu rest in peace. |
