THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Even Hyakkimaru caught the attention of Tahomaru now. Good episode considering the continuation of the storytelling and dark journey of the two main leads. We even got some storytelling about the Banmon. While not speaking much, Hyakkimaru shows more and more emotions that makes him more human. The youkai that took on the form a fox is no pushover. |

Let's build the wall and make Asakura clan pay for it. And such a cliffhanger ending, imagine if Dororo is only 1 cour and this is the final episode. Also Hyakkimaru and Taromaru appear together in the same frame makes my heart go dokidoki! Would it be disrespectful to the original author if I ship them? Update: just watch next episode preview... this is very bad family reunion!!! please don't fight I love you both! |

I like how the characters have depth, like when Daigo finally meets Hyakkimaru, he doesn't know what to say to him. He doesn't instantly order the guards to kill him, because somewhere deep down, he knows the dude's his son. You could also see the change in his expression giving that away. This is further illustrated by the fact that his soul wasn't completely red, since he isn't a demon. It was convoluted grey with red streaks, which reveals his somewhat complicated personality, and all the deaths that he has caused. By no means is Daigo a good man, but he certainly isn't evil incarnate either. |

Noooooo! Please don't hurt him! Shit. My anxiety levels are through the roof 😭 I'm praying that Tohomaru helps Hyakkimaru when he finds out the truth. I need this anime to end well cause other wise i'm just cry forever haha |

Damn that cliffhanger. Finally they met, I am so glad that this is a 2 cour show. So as soon as they met the buddha statue cracked a bit. We know that it's because of the buddha that Hyakkimaru stayed alive when he was born, so now that it's started to crack, right after the creator and the created met, does that mean Hyakkimaru is going to.... NOOO! By the way, the soundtrack with all the japanese classical instruments, is such a masterpiece, Got old Naruto vibes, especially since we saw a Kyubii. |

Banmon is an obvious metaphor of Panmunjom, 38th parallel line of Korea. Berlin Wall too. People don't talk about that for some reason. The new anime itself doesn't show the message so directly. Osamu Tezuka portrayed Cold War so many times in his manga. Tezuka liked that kind of allegorical storytelling. In the real history, both Asakura and Togashi were already on the same side when Hyakkimaru arrived Daigo's land. Tezuka should have known it but he focused on the metaphor, I guess. Jukai's ex-boss, Shiba clan, was Asakura's master but Shiba declined in that war. Asakura took over one of Shiba's lands after that. Later, a master of Shiba clan was killed by his subordinates. A branch family of another clan took revenge against the traitor. That guy was the famous demon lord, Nobunaga Oda. |

Daigo’s confusion and inability to take down Hyakkimaru in an instant speaks volumes about his uncertainty and character. Hyakkimaru is, after all, his son and what occurred at the start of the show has surely caused him some headache in one form or another. Moreover, Tohomaru is slowly but surely coming closer to the truth. I didn’t imagine that the insane lady was a midwife during that time, no wonder why she’s afraid but I’m really curious as to how she instantly figured that out. God, what was that thing she dropped though? First impression of mine was a body part that of Hyakkimaru’s but it’s probably not, right? I’m confident that it’s something important but really looking forward to seeing w hat exactly it is. You have got to feel for Hyakkimaru’s mother now though. Damn, I’ll honestly commend her if she doesn’t commit suicide after this but I really hope she gets to meet her son at least. Meanwhile, Dororo and that little boy are in a bit of a pinch. Hopefully, things don’t get too messy there too. Pretty cool fight between the Fox spirit and Hyakkimaru by the way. Breaking free from the lock though, Hyakkimaru’s sure got some brute strength to boot. Lol, Dororo’s aiming deserves praise too, guess she really is the daughter of a great fighter. Short reappearance from the other blind guy too, final bits of him figuring out the current situation(with the demons and all, that is) just makes him all the more mysterious. It’s amazing how he saw through Hyakkimaru there too, “You killed humans too?”. Things are really getting intense now! Thank Lord, it’s 2 cours lol! Had it been 1 cour only, I don’t know if I’d be able to wait for a Season or two. Surely, a cliffhanger to come in next week’s episode too. But well, eagerly looking forward to the next episode! Edit: A huge shoutout to the Soundtracks of this episode by the way, especially that final one during the inevitable confrontation between father and son. Music has been a great feature of this show throughout but this episode was particularly phenomenal! |

The thing she was holding was a bloody rock. Like a rock that has some blood on it. Like the two "servants"/friends of Tahomaru were indicating, she wasn't all there. But yeah, astonishing how she could tell who Hyakkimaru was on sight. Instinct that one obtains on insanity I suppose. Also yeah, thank god the anime's for 24 episodes, if it had ended here, I would have probably busted out the manga and would later regret it when the second season has no suspense for me. |

I loved the way they showed how we can recognise murder. Hyakki is home! One of the servants has gone crazy. Wonder why she is scared of Tahou as well. I feel like the new kid that we just got introduced to will die. Hope Hyakki and Tahou will get along in the future. I know they will end up fighting, but I hope they become close after that. It would be nice to see Tahou being cared for by his older brother. Plus, the mummy-maru will also be happy if her sons get along. Daddy-maru and Hyakkimaru met much earlier than I thought they would. I am quite excited to watch the next episode now!! |

I totally agree with this! I expected this to happen much, much later in the series. If I didn't know that it was 24 episodes, I would be certain that the end was around the corner. I mean, the drama in this series is about the family feud. It probably will not happen, but I would like for Kyakkimaru's mom to see one him one last time. |

Felt a bit rushed. Also in the original the Daigo started the war and Banmon was controlling it to get more victims. I am curious how the confrontation will go. |

He is taken to his father's house, meets his mother but runs away because he does not want to admit his mother could have deserted him. Tahomaru realizes her mother's coldness is because of the suffering from loosing Hyakkamaru and becomes consumed by Jealousy, confronts Hyakkamaru and gets killed despite Hyakkamaru trying repeatedly to spare him. Tahomaru keeps getting up and attacking until he dies. Banmon burns and the two leave |

Oh boy things have gotten pretty intense! Tahomaru is getting closer to the truth, Hyakkimaru fought a pretty powerful Demon (props to Dororo's rock throwing skills), and Daigo finally finds Hyakkimaru! It's interesting how he hesitated, maybe he's curious as to how Hyakkimaru has survived for so long. Hopefully Dororo can save that kid, and nothing bad happens to her.. I'm interested to see how Tahomaru will handle this situation, also his mother. I feel like she's going to try and stop Daigo. It also makes me nervous that the Buddha statue cracked. I hope that's not what I think it means... either way, I'm sure there's a bloody battle ahead. Also, I feel like it may be forshadowing when the old man noticed Hyakkimaru had to kill humans. Hopefully he won't have to kill his father and brother as well. That may push him over the edge... It's awesome that there are still 13 episodes left. I can't imagine what will happen! |

The impending family drama is now becoming much more compelling than the obligatory demon battles, as Tahomaru is working closer to the mystery while Daigo is actively confronting Hyakkimaru. Interested to see what happens in Part 2, especially with Dororo in some trouble of her own. |

The plot thickens! I kind of thought that the first two-parter was just a tad rushed, but this one seems to have perfect pacing, and I can't wait to see what the characters do next, especially now that the main antagonist has actually put two and two together. Plus I'm glad that the monster at the end of the ED actually gets to show up! Also that OST at the end of the episode is just amazing. I'll have to get it when/if it becomes available to download. This just might be my favorite (non-sequel) show of the season. |

What an episode! I can't believe just how much stuff is happening/about to happen here, the stage is set! Tahomaru is really close to the truth, his meeting with that midwife who lost her mind at Hyakkimaru's birth may finally shed light into his doubts, helping him to connect the pieces. I just don't like the way she phrased it as if Hyakkimaru wanted revenge when he is just fighting to survive without knowing anything, but poor woman. Hyakkimaru's mother also questioned Daigo saying that he doesn't want the best for his people, he just wants to rule over others, to protect his undeserved position. She felt happy that her son was alive no doubt, but also helpless as she watched her husband marching on to kill his firstborn son with his own hands. I still can't believe he took a troop to end his own son. I guess he took the rumors, which are true, seriously and isn't going to underestimate him. I just hope Hyakkimaru will realize soon that they are there to harm him and fight back. Dororo is in danger too, she most certainly fell in the hands of those Asakura men, I don't see her abandoning that boy alone there. I can't believe I have to wait a week. |
