[Disc] Prison School: Do you think Hana and Kiyoshi ended up together beyond the ending of the manga?

(WARNING: Long post ahead, please bear with me. I just really want to discuss this with someone to ease out my emotions. It's really hard falling in love or becoming too attached with a fictional character and then seeing her being hurt.) So I just binge read Prison School for 17hrs in a span of 2 days and I've never had this much enjoyment and laughs in a really long time. It is so far the best RomCom-Ecchi manga I've ever read. I'm just a bit disappointed with the rash ending and the lack of resolution in the HANAxKIYOSHI relationship, though I love Hana's gloating in the end that she was right all along about the panties, with her face and hair drenched in piss and still rolling down her lips. Anyway it's obvious that I am team Hana (I fell in love with her right at the start of the pee saga), Chiyo is beautiful and all but quite frankly she is boring. Whereas I am always on the edge of my seat everytime Hana appears (I even read twice all the scenes in which Hana appeared). Her having a nosebleed instead of the guy is also cute, and I'm already tired of angelic characters so I love Hana being an antihero. Even if you remove the character of Chiyo the story will still be able to go on whereas the manga and story will not be the same if you remove the character of Hana. So in that respect for me Hana is more like the main female protagonist and not Chiyo or Mari. So now on to the question. I personally believe that Hana and Kiyoshi did ended up being in a relationship beyond the ending of the manga. Here are my reasons for coming out with such speculation: - It is guaranteed that Chiyo and Kiyo didn't end up together, so the Hana x Kiyo ship is still alive and the bridge to Hana hasn't been burn yet. - Kiyo really wants to have a girlfriend but after what happened in the cavalry and with chiyo, plus the revival of the USC no other girl in the school will ever approach him again aside from Hana. Maybe at first he will be furious with Hana because of what happened in the confession but his final lines implies that he is not angry at her, it's more like he is diappointed with himself. - Kiyoshi himself said that their date is a blast, so why wouldn't he want to gout with Hana again? - For me it's obvious that Kiyo is really in love with Hana but he just haven't realized it yet (or maybe he already realized it but just don't acknowledge it, the guy's dumb when it comes to feelings.) Kiyo's actions, behavior and thoughts shows that he is in love with Hana. Isn't wearing Hana's underwear in a confession with another girl enough proof that he is in love with her? - Kiyo had a lot more intimate moments with Hana that with Chiyo, to the best of my kmemory he only had 3 intimate moments with Chiyo (the sumo date which ended in a failure, the slut Chiyo part and the lap pillow). At first he was just being coerced by Hana into doing things but there came a point that he is already enjoying their escapades. I think he fell in love with Hana after their kissing escapade before the escape. Hana and Kiyo' relationship had a better development than that of Chiyo. - While reading the manga I felt that the author is pushing us into the kind of ending where it will be HANAxKIYO instead of CHIYOxKIYO, considering everything that happened between those trio it does seem like that that is the author's intended ending. Maybe he was really just forced into making a rash ending that's why it turned out that way (or maybe he just wants to troll the readers, or maybe he just really hates us and wants to hurt us bad) - There maybe some Hana fans who wouldn't want Hana and Kiyo to end up together because he is a perverted scum garbage but I believe that "anyone who likes Hana can't be a bad person" - Hana and Kiyo had lots of firsts together: First to see an opposite sex peeing, first to being peed on, first time holding hands, first time to have their private parts stick to a person of opposite sex, first kiss, first french kiss, first time wearing another person's underwear, etc. - Kiyoshi himself said that his date with Hana is a blast and that he feels like he can talk about anything with her. And when Hana ask him if he wants to go out he said that he will do it if Chiyo rejects him. Now that he already realized that his relationship with Chiyo is built upon lies and already over then I think it's just natural for him to now date Hana. That's all, thanks for reading. Please share your thoughts below and have a discussion with me. P.S. where can I petition for a season 2 and 3 of the anime? |

I agree with everything you said, only I did like Chiyo and I would've been fine with her ending up with Kiyo (only I would've felt terrible for Hana. Chiyo's ending was perfect. Everything I was cool with, but I was desperate to see what would happen between Kiyoshi and Hana (and see how he'd interact with Chiyo considering his feelings?)(and potentially more antics with the boys in prison and the chairman with Chiyo?). Also lack of wet T-shirt contest was a little sad ngl ): Also GakutoXMitsuko/Slut-senpai?? |

I came in this series for downfall of USC indeed but then again stayed for the plot then for the bromance then for romance and back to the plot. I am not a serious reader cause I am always serious take it easy to not go overboard with Edgy but clever manga like these cause I could never predict what would happen and even if I did predict.. I was most hyped for it. I still have yet to complete it cause I am remaining at 1 chapter the twists were good but I think Kyoushi just yeeted Hanna out after that if Hanna didn't try to pick him at all and probably will go onfor someone else in his life |

The chances that they end up together after the ending are not low, but it is much more plausible to think that kiyoshi ends up in limbo without any girl at all |

Tbh on my opinion they should've shown if hana was in USC anymore . It would've cleared a whole lot . Also Hana might have approached kiyoshi since she is really persistent . |

Yes, I absolutely think they're end up together but sadly we never gonna see that. One thing for sure, Hana Midorikawa is the best waifu ever <3 |

Ultimately, I feel the same way. I truly wanted to see Hana x Kiyo, but it would appear that he burned that bridge regardless. And then that epilogue, was the worst dumpster fire ever IMHO. I feel like the author just wants to tell everyone, in high-school-- you just lie to each other all the time... until you f'ing grow-up... So my guess is the author suffered from issues growing up in high school, don't we all... it's just the ending. I don't think I'll be reading anything more from that mangaka. |

I already post this in chapter 277 discussion. Just want to share my opinion. Chiyo is already fully accepted how peverted Kiyoshi, right? Why did she went insane when see Kiyoshi panties? Isn’t much worse thing happen when he is explaining his relation with Hana? Rather than shocked, I would prefer Chiyo thinks that maybe he just like to wear panties, it doesn’t have to be Hana panties, it could be any woman. So she shove Hana to the side and just grab Kiyoshi panties with desperate looks, put her own panties into Kiyoshi and wait for his reactions. If he still comfortable with Hana panties and put it back on, it’s justifiable for Chiyo to go insane. So there’s two scenario CHIYO ROUTE: If Kiyoshi accepted Chiyo panties, it means he just a pervert that like to wear panties. And since Chiyo already fully accepted Kiyoshi, they would still be dating. Hana would go into depression after that and whine about how unfair it is. In this route, it needs a new character to fiil the U.S.C president. The boys will be put back on jail because how flirty they are with their girl friend. HANA ROUTE: Kiyoshi would try to put Hana panties back on and give Chiyo panties back. He would make it looks like out of kindness because he don’t want Chiyo to go commando. Kiyoshi feels apologetics, but Chiyo with denial looks couldn’t comprehend the situations. Hana with triumph smile looks down to Kiyoshi. Deep down she was happy, but still in denial. To top it off her wins, she start to go down until her eyes meet his and force kiss him passionately. At first he doesn’t know how to respond the kiss because all the situations that has been happened. After a few moments he start to feel the pleasure from Hana lips and start embracing her back. This where Chiyo should go insane and into the man-hating madness. Chiyo will be the new U.S.C president. The best way to describe Hana and Kiyoshi relationship is “more than friends, but less than lover”, since Hana still oblivious with her feelings, and Kiyoshi would embrace any girl. Too bad that any girl happen to be only Hana. LOL. Slowly but sure they’ll eventually both get into that lover relationship. In this route, the boys will be put back on jail because of Chiyo hatred toward men. Sorry for my bad writing skills. But still, I want to full fill my desire for HanaxKiyoshi. |

So let me just say ever since Hana wanted to see kiyoshi pee I've been on the Hana team. Now I want to explain what I think happened. I think the author foreshadowed the ending. When Hana told chiyo that she wanted to become like her, because at the end chiyo ends up looking exactly like Hana (in my opinion) so I think that hana possibly really does end up with kiyoshi. Plus there was other little things like when kiyoshi said he'd go out with Hana if chiyo said no. Like that right there is another sign. I truly believe that Hana is also with kiyoshi because there is no way this man would still be alive he tried to kill himself before when he thought chiyo's letter meant "die" so imagine how he would feel if Hana ruined his shot with chiyo, chiyo hated him and he ended up with no one. I think kiyoshi sincerely ended up with Hana cause him having on those panties truly shows how much he cared for her like bruh that scene where he said he's going to have to die just to kiss hana, that was an amazing scene and to me right there sealed their love. But ik this post is years old, but hope this helps some of you make more assumptions cause that really was like a Godfather ending. Might as well have made the pages all black after seeing Hana expose kiyoshi LMFAO jk tho that'd make me more upset. |

I think I also fell in love with Hana. Apparently the end is disappointing. I am now at the moment where the two student councils are facing each other on sports day. Should I stop my reading in the rique of being so disappointed with the ending? I want to keep a good memory of Hana. |

LMAO don't make a petition. I suspect mangaka-kun hated Hana with a passion and was bummed by fans wanting to see HanaxMC-kun. There are whole chapers (like the race) where she's present in the action, but you literally never see her. Mangaka uses angles where you can't see her, closes-up on Mari and Meiko all the time, but Hana's floating in limbo. Ironically, everyone else seems to unanimously agree that Hana's the best character, and the others are more or less boring. I tend to despise both ecchi romance and romcoms, but somehow something about teenage awkward horniness + the absurdity of the comedy made the passages with Hana work extremely well. Manga missed the opportunity to switch to full romcom after THAT scene and instead buried itself in that sports competition bullshit. Generally speaking the writing and drawing turns to complete shit towards the end so it's safe to assume mangaka was totally burnt out of this crap. I suspect he intentionally put it in a dumpster then set it ablaze. |

The ending was straight up rubbish and you can't tell me the writer wasn't expecting hate, at least he could have ended with hana and kiyoshi going out |

I didn't even think about it as a question, personnally ^^' I mean... The thing between Kiyoshi and Hana started as a revenge that she absolutely wanted because the guy had seen her peeing. And then, it seems to me that she was drawn to him, more and more, so powerfully that she was looking for made up occasions to see him. When and why, we don't really know, but I think the great kiss was kind of a trigger for both of them, even though they didnt understand it consciously. What Im pretty sure is they fell in love with each other. Both of them, even though Kiyoshi was always talking about Chiyo, the thing is... nothing ever really linked them. The only girl he really had a real link with, was Hana. They were hiding things together, sharing things together (and im not talking about escape plans or whatever. Im talking about more profound stuff). He certailnly shared escape plans with Mari and made Ouroboros with her, for example, but they never had a real relationship... He was always the guy following her orders (very annoying, btw... I would have told Mari to go fuck off a million times, if I had been Kiyoshi, given the way she was talking to him... ). Hana & Kiyo are both liers, because while she was hiding behind hate and revenge, he was hiding behind a so called pure love for a girl he never even knew... The only thing he knew from Chiyo was she liked Sumo, and admitted himself that it was boring during the date. She's nice, and cute... Yeah, ok... if the guy falls in love with every girl like that in the academy, he's gonna have quite a few troubles... (and he already has enough of those, imo XD ). But when time of truth approached, Hana realized she was gonna lose him, gonna lose this one and only link they had. When she comes to Chiyo and tells her "I have to tell you the truth about Kiyoshi, so that you dont make any mistakes" thats not what I heard at all ^^' what I heard is "I have to confess my feelings about Kioyshi" which is entirely different ! But Hana is incredibly proud. Not once did she pronouce those words ! But even though Chiyo is kind of useless, she's not dumb either. She finally understood what was going on, and understood that Hana was in love with Kiyoshi. But even then... She loves Kiyoshi, and she doesnt want to lose against Hana's feelings, so even after all those revelations, she confesses back to Kiyo. And thats where Hana, imo, plays his last and best card, makes a crazy bet, sort of... She couldnt know that Kiyoshi was wearing her underwear, but she wanted to wear his that morning. She felt the need to. So the problem is simple: if he loves her, if he had the same needs, he had to do the same thing... Otherwise, it's just over, their ship is gone, and she knows it. She wants to know, right here, right now ! No more lies, no more tricks or runaways. If he doesnt wear her underwear, she'll give up on him... And, well... You know the rest ^^ The thing is... from the moment on Chiyo saw Hana's panties on Kiyoshi... given the fact that Hana was wearing Kiyoshi's because she's in love with him... How do you want her not to think he was wearing those for the exact same reason ? Panties that, just so you remember, Chiyo saw on the futon that famous day... And she now knows they were both hiding nudes while she was clearing the place... Ofc it's weird, ofc its sick, ofc there's something more into it... If it was just about a guy loving to wear panties... Dude, go buy some in a shop ! But no, he's wearing those ones, Hana's ones ! For me, from the moment on Chiyo saw Kiyoshi wearing them, he lost her. Not because of a "guy loving to wear panties is too weird" thing, but because she understood that he was in love with Hana, too. They are acting the same way, lying the same way, running away from their feelings the same way, but the facts are just there, and the facts are not lying. She's just not gonna risk a relationship with a guy who's clearly in love with someone else. Chiyo might be boring, but she's not stupid. Of course, its just my opinion of the events, how I understood the things. But I really loved it. And I think it must be obvious that I was team Hana, so... even though the ending was rushed, which is kind of too bad, at least we had a conclusion ^^ |

I would also add that 4 and a half thousand MAL users have Hana down as a favourite on here (as I type this) versus... 42 for Chiyo, I presume because she was a flashed out, far from perfect but compelling character who had a lot of hilarious moments - the insane kiss scene, mushroom flashbacks, the MC's soliloquy whilst Hana soaked him(!) and others I'm likely forgetting. I'm laughing now as I think about some of it. I like to think the rueful smile in her last panel was triumphant rather than vindictive and it would be difficult to see them NOT together after they have grown together in a rather perverted fashion while Chiyo remained more of an idea. Then again who knows? The author left many threads open and went for an impactful ending and he certainly got that. I don't mind admitting that I didn't anticipate the final pant reveal and people seem to forget how funny (and utterly in keeping) with the rest of the manga that was. 'Bad Chiyo' imitating her sister was another smart move and one that left the series open (although in reality I think it is done). I would suggest those who are agonizing over the lack of a 'neat' ending focus instead on the belly laughs and joy this series gave. Yes the extended cavalry thing was ridiculous but even that was overblown and overdone to the point of actually being funny. It was utterly in keeping and I don't understand how people on here are lowering review scores whilst forgetting the fact that this was probably one of the funniest mangas ever produced, had compelling characters and actually gave them a lot of joy. They after all wouldn't be angry if this wasn't the case. Or as the Chiyo's dad would put it... "...wouldn't be angry if this wasn't the CASE!" |

Most likely kiyoshi committed suicide because he tried to commit suicide before after the shoulder wars race when Hana delivered him that note chiyo told her to give him all ripped up. Honestly kiyoshi woulda been able to keep chiyo if he didn’t lie. As soon as she found out kiyoshi lied about the underwear. It was over At that point she was testing kiyoshi to see if he would tell the truth. And I’m pretty sure she already knew hana was love with kiyoshi so she was trying to break em up. I mean he was golden up until then. SMH |

She wants to know, right here, right now ! No more lies, no more tricks or runaways. If he doesnt wear her underwear, she'll give up on him...
And, well... You know the rest ^^
The thing is... from the moment on Chiyo saw Hana's panties on Kiyoshi... given the fact that Hana was wearing Kiyoshi's because she's in love with him...
And I think it must be obvious that I was team Hana, so... even though the ending was rushed, which is kind of too bad, at least we had a conclusion ^^
@kappa34 Thank you, I actually needed this conclusion, I know I'm super late to the party, but today I just finished the manga (after reading it for 3 days straight) I'm actually happy that kyo didn't end up with chyo because from the start I liked hana more, but damn the ending left an empty void in me, there was so many thing that author left behind and I hate him for it, but what can I do..? the only thing I can do is search for answers like yours to help fill that void a little... Man I really hate how we readers don't have any control on how some manga finish bad... |

@YeahILikeIt You're welcome ^^ I actually reread the whole manga recently (because... well I wanted to ^^ ) and knowing the whole story and especially the ending while I was reading it, it appeared to me even more clearer that OF COURSE Kiyo and Hana were doomed to end up together. I noticed a few things and hints that we can see along the manga, and that we didnt mention yet, here... Im gonna give them to you: - The reason of the broken hand (or whatever) of Kiyoshi: When Hana understands what happened for real the night they kissed, she says "you tricked me ?! IM GONNA KILL YOU !!" And then she hits him so hard, he's being hurt for real, this time. The first time, I thought she was just being angry because he trapped her, and Hana being proud, she would react violently. But I dont think that's what it was anymore. I think it hurt her (seriously) to discover that during their big first kiss, he actually tricked her to open the door and... well, send Mari and the others to prison ^^'... - After they kissed, when Kiyoshi is locked up with Mari and Meiko, she gets into the prison and demands a private conversation with him. Why ? Because she heard that Kiyo had peed in front of another girl, and she was pretty angry about it. She even tells him "how could you pee in front of another girl before you pee in front of me ?!!" ). - Then, not knowing what to say, Kiyo says he's sorry and she demands that they take pictures of them kissing ( ?!! ). They even take pictures where Kiyo is taking Hana in his arms like a princess (does it seem like a "revenge series of photos" to you ? ^^' ). Again, they do it because SHE asks it, and they do it with HER phone. It's not an accident, or a misunderstanding. BUT, once again, they are both lying on the real reason and fleeing it. - Even better: Later on, we discover that Hana edited those photos with hearts and cuty things like that when Keito searches her phone. If all she's after is revenge against Kiyoshi, then WHY ?!! You could say it's just a card she's keeping secret, but ready, in case she wants to destroy Kiyo in Chiyo's eyes. But I dont think it's the real reason. It's just a manifestation of her true feelings, the ones that she's rejecting with all her heart. - When Keito tries to break the underground council completely, she shows Hana the videotape of Kiyo & Mari doing the Ourouboros. Why ? Because she saw the photos on her phone and understood she was in love with him. She even thought she was actually going out secretly with Kiyoshi. We can see at this specific moment that Hana is hurt and angry just from seeing those images. BUT, what Keito couldnt know was that Mari had already called Hana to tell her the whole story, so we never actually see the moment where Hana discovers Kiyo did... Weird things with Mari. What we see is the moment when Hana discovers the images of that particular scene. Still, worth mentionning, I think ^^ - Hana asks Kiyoshi out after the cavalry thing, when they go out together (on a disguised date...) in the city. Officially, he's following her to carry what she's gonna buy. She even PAYS HIM in order to stay longer with her and eat in a little coffee place with her. Another big fat lie ! She asks him to follow her, but the excuse is "she's gonna buy a lot of stuff so she needs a guy to carry the stuff). Seriously ?! XD After she asks him out, she panics, she tells him she's just kidding and she would never do that (yeah, right... ) and leaves the sub giving a fake excuse, and then falls on her knees on the sub's dock, because she's out of strenght and doesn't even know why she asked him out a few minutes ago. She says it just happened and she can't explain it. And she seems terrified... - During the sport festival, before the cavalry thing, when Hana had to run and stuff while she was wearing his pants, she was losing more and more time because she had to hold on to Kiyoshi's pants that people couldn't see. Kiyoshi suggests multiple times that they switch so she can win the race, but she refuses everytime, until the very end, where she understands she won't win if they don't switch. She tells him at that moment "those pants are MINE ! No one else is ever gonna wear them !". I saw here another hint from the author because what I heard here was "YOU are mine, and no one else but me is ever gonna get you !". - The end. We talked about it a lot, already, but... When Chiyo still confesses back to Kiyo after all that Hana just told her, it seems pretty clear to me that Hana understands that she can't lie anymore. She panics, and refuses the fact that Kiyo & Chiyo just became a thing just in front of her. Annnd that's it for now ^^ I noticed these few details (and probably a few more that I already forgot... ^^' ) and wanted to share them with you in this topic, although it's kinda old, now XD |

@Uuhhwyhwhe266 I think what's most likely is that you are just a troll posting to mess around when you're bored... ^^' |

@kappa34 You can think whatever you want, but I'm firm in my theory since it's thematically feasible. Kiyoshi endured relentless harassment for about 100 chapters, with nearly everyone at school explicitly telling him to kill himself (he already tried to neck himself if I remember correctly). Chiyo was the only one who remained supportive of him, but that changed after the barbecue incident, when she also turned against him. Also, Kiyoshi didn't have strong feelings for Hana, when she confessed he mentioned that he sees her as a big sister. Given this complete lack of support and savage bullying, I believe Kiyoshi may have taken his own life. |

@Uuhhwyhwhe266 I give you the fact that he already tried to hang himself before. But I don't agree with the rest at all. Yes, he was treated as shit during the whole manga (especially by Mari... I still don't understand why he never told her to go fuck off, but that's not the point, here, Im getting off topic). Yes Chiyo was the most "nice" towards him when you don't look into it from up close. But the thing is they had no real link. The only moment they shared was during a Sumo fight, and Kiyoshi was so bored, even Chiyo saw that he was just there for her, and not for the fights. She tells him that later on. Concerning Hana, she never confessed to him. The farthest she went was to ask him out, and then withdrew a few seconds afterthat because she was scared. Kiyoshi never considered (and never understood, btw, even in the last chapter) that she could be in love with him for real, and that the way she had been acting for all this time was because of that. The guy thinks so bad of himself that not once did he think "hey maybe she actually likes me ?!". So the truth is, you can't really know what he thinks of Hana. That is... until she uncovers the fact that he's wearing her underwear on the day he's supposed to confess to Chiyo. Don't you think that MAYBE that brings up a few questions ^^' ? He may have told once to Hana that he considered her as a big sister (Im not sure, I dont remember well) but it was more of a way to hide his embarrasment and break the tension always growing up between them. Nothing surprising there. Remember one important thing: Hana and Kiyoshi were almost always lying to each other when it was about their own feelings... so yeah, he told her that. Does it make it true, though ? The real question would be then: Now that he has discovered the real feelings of Hana (because I assume that she can't hide it anymore after what happens during the last chapter) how is he gonna react to them ? Is he gonna have a mindblowing understanding that he never really was in love with Chiyo and start watching Hana as a girl that loved him for several months, now ? Or is he just gonna drown in his own sorrow and understand nothing about what happened that day at the barbecue. Personnally I don't think Hana would let him go that easily. Just like she couldn't accept the fact that she was about to lose him, if Kiyoshi enters deep depression, she's gonna go see him and kick his butt again. Ofc, it's just my own opinion... |
