 Kodansha launched an official website for a TV anime adaptation of Masakuni Igarashi's comedy slice of life manga Senryuu Shoujo (Senryuu Girl) on Thursday. Voice actress Kana Hanazawa (Bakemonogatari) will star as the main character Nanako Yukishiro. The anime series will air in Spring 2019.Synopsis Nanako Yukishiro is a cute, cheerful high school girl with one peculiar trait—instead of verbal communication, she writes senryuu, a type of haiku, to relay her thoughts. Together with ex-delinquent Eiji Busujima, they are budding freshmen of the school's Literature Club. Even though Nanako doesn't talk, with the power of senryuu, the adorable pair has no problem enjoying their fun school-life through the tune of 5-7-5 syllables. Senryuu Shoujo ranked among the top 20 manga in the 4th Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho, a joint award by Kadokawa's Da Vinci literature magazine and streaming platform Niconico, which was announced this past August. | The design on the anime seems so generic compared to the manga. But hey, I'm a verminnwho watch every anime adaptation of manga I read so I'll be on this. Even more when hana kana is doing nanako. also curious at hoe they'll be making it on anime form considering how many jokes exist because of 4 koms format and thst nanako uses poem to talk |
| Nice, it's a very cute manga. Seems studio connect is silver link's partner or maybe even part of silver link(?) (looking from the anime they worked). Hope they will do a good job adapting this. Also more Hanakana is always welcome. |
| A quiet girl who only talks through writing and (as ANN put it) "an intimidating but kind boy" makes it sound as though Azazel from Beelzebub-jou got split into two characters. Just kind of a funny thought, not saying there was actually any influence - not that that would even be a bad thing. (The Beelzebub-jou manga did start over a year earlier.) |

| It's about time. First Senko-san and now this. My favorite mangas keep getting animated left and right. Although Nanako deserves way more attention than Senko-san imo. And her VA is HanaKana? Anybody who's thinking to watch this anime without reading the manga, grab your insulin first because you can actually die from cuteness overload. Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara (from the same author) anime when? |
