THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- About 1:40 to recap first two seasons. Ogura-chan's character is too skillful for catching the toasts from the toaster. A nice relaxing trip alone to a nice walkway and places full of memories with her mother. Wow, seeing Hikasa-san's character and her friend, too. She also led a girl who got lost. So this is her side of the ep. when main girl got part-time job. The main two's memory talk in one Fall. The outgoing friend doesn't remember about acorn and fall leaves at all. They gave each other something when she moved away and that acorn stick was her gift. She feels guilty for losing the gift main girl gave. She decided to apologize about it, but turns out the main girl forgot about the gift until recently, too. Acorn necklace as new treasure. Oh, this show! I really can't wait for season 3. Apart from the obvious flashbacks, there are lots of continuity nods to enjoy. It certainly brings good memories of the series. One that stood out for me was Kokona passing Hinata and Aoi when she got lost, which parallels the firefly episode. Come to think of it, Hinata's half of the episode was pretty much a parallel to that episode. They reused the frames for most of the flashback scenes, but they didn't for the flashback of Aoi and Hinata's first high school meeting, mostly because they added some extra bits. It's great that we see Hinata's side of the story now, because we've only seen Aoi's side so far. The first is the new scene. The second is from the first season. There are some noticeable differences, but the foreground and mid-ground characters are pretty much the same. I wonder if they traced them, or simply lifted them from the scene and reapplied the lighting. Notably, Aoi's eye reflection swapped sides. I love how the ending theme takes cues from Staccato Days, the ending from the first season and the second ending of the second. It really adds to the continuity of the series. It reminds me of what K-On! did in its movie. What was the one thing on Kaede's mind? |

Actually it's 10/10 material, both parts of the special are really heartwarming and cool with a bit of white sadness. Can't wait for 3rd season. |

Nice stroll with Kokona, really enjoyed this one :) The second part was good too. So what was Kaede up to I wonder? Probably something S3 this summer will have answer to. |

Kokona is such an angel ;_; It was so relaxing watching her taking a walk and reminiscing. Makes me wanna go out and walk around. The second part was cute, I knew Aoi would say that it's a very Hinata thing to do, for misplacing the acorn farewell gift. It's pretty funny though that Aoi did forget about Hinata, and that's way worse than misplacing a gift! Interesting to see how Hinata was actually a bit nervous when she went up to Aoi after not seeing her for so long. |

OMG Kokona's bathtub is so small ;_; I loved this OVA, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. The first part was so heartwarming I was smiling almost all the time. I can't help it, Kokona is such an angel and I felt really happy when her mum told her they could spend next sunday together. The second part was great as well. Just another example of how nice the bond between Aoi and Hinata is. Great OVA, now I'm really really looking forward to the third season! |

First half was pretty lackluster for me, as I mostly like Yama no Susume because of Hinata and Aoi. The second half was cute though, so that made up for it. Forgetting your best friend really is worse than losing a gift :P Am I misremembering the anime or was the animation (especially the facial) worse than before? It wasn't unwatchable or anything, but it was hard not to notice. Hopefully the third season won't have the same problem. |

Ahhh, Kokona kawaii! That first half was reminiscent to her little adventure in season 2. As summer is coming to an end, it was really atmospheric to take in all of the ambience that surrounded Kokona on her little summer stroll. It was particularly heartwarming as even though her mother couldn't join her, she was surrounded with constant reminders of all of the time they've spent together. Enough memories to fill more than a day's worth. As for the second half, it perfectly illustrates the precious bond between Hinata & Aoi. I especially like how it emphasizes how thoughtful & sensitive Hinata can be when thinking about Aoi and that her nonchalant front is really just her way of trying to keep Aoi at ease. 8/10 |

Short mention of past events is nice to recall things that happened.. ;P That's lots of cats.. ;P Even if Kokona didn't have chance to spend more time with mother.. She relieved plenty of moments with her in memories this day.. Kokona dressed as angel is too suiting.. ;P Kokona lives with her mother alone, it seems.. It also seems that maybe Kokona doesn't have friends she meets too much.. Is she alright in school?.. She can be totally fine, really, and that's just the way she prefers to spend her time, really, of course.. So who knows.. Girls are just too sweet sometimes in some shots.. ;P How happy they look, or how funny they are, or other things.. Aoi's and Hinata's friendship is sweet.. ;P "Everything missed you can fill" - very wise words from Aoi.. Applies in general to many things in life.. If you regret about something.. Can you fill it now?.. Just great phrase.. Sometimes we don't actually need that thing now, by the way, which is also easier to realize, if you'd ask yourself, if you want to fill it now.. Great episode, enjoyed it a lot.. ;P |

I was a bit surprised that Kokona didn't call any of the girls to spend time with her, although the girls usually call her to join them. Maybe she wanted to feel as if she was with her mother. The story of Aoi and Hinata's childhood was very touching ☺️! |

It was a wonderful episode, didn't expect it from an ova. Kokona is one of my favs, and the first half was so relaxing. I totally get this. Strolling around without any particular aim alone but not feeling lonely. Her relationship with mother is also so lovely. And how she used to dress up as angel, kappa and fairy, just adorable. I thought the second part would be about Kaede, but oh well. I liked this part too. Treasuring your memories of friendship and all that. And Kokona once again passed by Hinata and Aoi when she got lost as a child. So close, but not yet! At the end there was a smooth transition into autumn. Certainly, this anime in autumn season will look absolutely beautiful. |

I wonder where Kokona's mother work. I mean, she is getting Sunday off? And she said it like it was some kind of an achievement? Not to mention her bastard of a boss can just tell her to change her plans one day before her day off? And instead of just telling him to "excuse himself" she just agrees? Damn, Japanese work culture is hell on earth. |

The first half of the ep is too good. Kokona just strolling through the area accompanied by the creative perspectives as well as fisheye lens shots composition. Second half is such a sweet story that connects back to the first episode of the anime. Fantastic OVA. |
