Synopsis

"The hero comes. The hero comes. The hero comes. Chant these words in your mind, and I'll surely come to you..." This mantra is what Makoto Tsukimoto repeats as a source of motivation when he fights through the stress of not only grueling ping pong matches, but also in situations of his life. Makoto doesn't fight alone; he and his friend, Yukata Hoshino, nicknamed Smile and Peco respectively, are two boys who have grown up playing ping pong together nearly every day. Peco, brimming with confidence, aims to be the best table tennis player in the world; Smile, on the other hand, shows little ambition. Nevertheless, the two have always stuck together, with a bond built upon their mutual love for this sport.

Every year, students from all across Japan gather for the inter-high table tennis competition to achieve national and international stardom. Through intense training and competition, only the very best persevere.

From the avant-garde director of Tatami Galaxy, Masaaki Yuasa, Ping Pong The Animation serves a tale of ambition with its fair share of bumps along the way. Whatever the odds, Peco and Smile will face them together.

I might join later cause its been like 2 years since I watched it, not sure tho.

Oshii is probably the only director that loves dogs. He thinks he's a dog himself.

That's right, its slime! It will dissolve your clothing slowly before my eyes!

I think all the characters are awesome but Peco is probably my favorite too, slightly before Kong who is slightly ahead of Smile. Peco's VA is just amazing.

This is just "Tenth's simulwatch" isn't it lmao

But that's fine, needed some sort of push anyways to legit watch this even if just my first thoughts mostly thus far but I'm moving quite fast anyways. Usually Sape is the one being so fast! but it's also a rewatch for her.

I was all caught up in my One Piece re-read so I didn’t find the time to watch pas episode 2 (which I adored), but I’ll reach you in no time!

And yes, 6 is one hell of an episode but it gets even better.

hm I found like 4 different 1080p BD subbed versions on Animebytes and Commie isn't even among them, they only have a 720p BD version on there :>.

Hit me up if you ever want an invite. Commie is super meh, they take HS and make them even worse most of the time imo.

Bakabt has more titles (some obscure ovas I haven't found on AB but know they are on bakabt) I think but AB has more options for each title they have which can be pretty neat. AB also doesn't have stuff where the only available version is an english dub, like a couple of old korean animes or Mighty Orbots. But overall I'd say it's worth it and I have been too lazy to get myself a bakabt account on top of it because there's almost no cases where I'd need it.

I just need to find a common torrent client where both AB and BakaBT works on because a lot of versions are whitelisted so need to go back to the one on my old PC which I have to remember which version that had. And sure AB is pretty much better than BakaBT in every way but I still love using BakaBT just for old times sake, had my account there for far longer than AB so even on my old PC I tend to download mostly from BakaBT anyways unless it didn't have it I'd check AB ofc.

But right now I'm mostly just lazy, no excuse more than that lmao.

I always used to use bakabt without ever making an account but then that didn't work anymore and I still needed a source for my non-seasonal animu so I got myself invited to AB since bakabt was on 'hiatus' back then. Occasionally it sucks because I know something is on bakabt but I can't find it on AB but in terms of layout and handling it's definitely more appealing.

I'm glad I still have both my accounts but as I never usually downloaded too much on AB but they are usually more strict over there right? got several warnings on multiple times with "hit and run" and I can barely never seed anything even if I tried with my internet so I usually use RatioMaster but only did that with BakaBT but maybe should in the future with AB too. Do you actually legit seed Pullman or "fake" seed like me?

I do seed, not even sure what you mean with fake seeding?
But my internet sucks so I can't upload very much data volume but the Yen system on AB makes up for that. And Hit & Runs can easily be avoided, you just have to set the torrents to seeding for a set amount of time per torrent but the majority of the time there won't be any leechers anyway, the torrent program just has to run for it to count as seeding time and for you to get Yen with which to buy upload credit and stuff.

And there is also a lot of Free leech on AB which doesn't impact your ratio. Everything 1080p is freeleech (that is the big one), every few weeks there are 48 hours of freeleech, the anime of the forthnight which changes every 2 weeks is freeleech, before halloween all anime tagged with horror were freeleech, on special occasions like the site anniversary there is freeleech and so on. So as long as you technically seed to avoid hit and runs you don't need to upload a whole lot to keep your ratio decent. I downloaded around 1TB of data so far from AB but officially I only downlaoded 93GB because the rest was all freeleech. My official ratio is around 4.00 right now, but my actual ratio is 0.1 because I download a lot of freeleech and buy a lot of upload volume with Yen.

You can also crossseed a lot, for example all the seasonals. But you don't even need to do that if you're mostly gonna use it for 1080p versions. But there's a lot of options to maintain ratio even with a shitty internet connection like mine as long as you can just have your torrent program running in the background.
I probably regret this post by now.

What I meant with fake seeding was RatioMaster, a program that makes it seem like you are seeding for "x" amount of whatever you put into it. Sometimes they can detect this but most of the time not since I haven't been banned for years even though I just use it on few occasions since it tend to seed out a lot with the settings I input.

But that's good to know. These days I tend to go with a lot of 1080p since got a new PC and even better internet and there is no worry on storage either since got 3TB internal HDD and then a 2TB external HDD if ever want to save some downloaded gems.
