Oo, I like the style of the OP song. Somewhat cartoony but definitely appealing, visually.

Once again, we have the two main girls on their mysterious adventure. There's some fan service this episode with the water baths although I didn't find it distracting. I really love the way the music is used for this episode. It balances between the SOL-ish feel and an adventure vibe.

Good episode. I really like the pacing of this and the style of the storytelling. I like that ED theme song too.

the fact that people on MAL don't watch good shows when it has slice-of-life tag on it and on the cover are 2 girls.

The OP is fantastic, I love it. So catchy. xD

Good episode once again.

It's kinda amusing and sad that the girls are only now discovering or rather seeing things for the first time in their world. Fish, books and other things we normally take for granted.

Yuuri with the 'I'm Sokky' was adorable.

The rainbow, fish cooking and laundry was great too. :)

Wow! I honestly wasn't expecting a cheerful and upbeat OP! I love it! Even the ED is catchy. xD

It was cute when they got to take a hot bath. Their relaxed wiiiiiiide faces were so cute, it reminded me of Hidamari Sketch. :D

Yuuri can't read or write, and has bad memory but likes to eat. Chito likes to read books and she also keeps a journal. I lol'd at Yuuri's drawing with the misspelled Sokky sorry. xD That Kappa book. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) R.I.P. D:

I wonder if the two girls noticed the little rainbow on the water. They got to eat roasted fish for the first time too. I guess they don't know about seasonings that could make the fish meat taste better. Farewell, fish bones.

I am pleasantly surprised that the manga is being adapted faithfully. The art style especially for Chito's and Yuuri's faces look exactly the same, but with color. There were also good choices for the background music. Despite the melancholic atmosphere with these two girls being the only young people around with civilization dead, the cheerful OP and ED makes me forget about the gloominess.

I like to follow more of Chito's and Yuuri's adventures. :) This has been super enjoyable so far! :D

OP was pretty fun.

Pretty odd and desolate world... but there're levels to it as well? o_o I wonder how far in the future this takes place.

I wonder why it was abandoned though.

Anyway, it's really kick-back for the most part so I'm really liking the anime so far

And I'm really digging that ED, holy damn

The OP is quite catchy. The girls looked so relaxed taking a bath after not having one for so long. Chito likes to keep a journal. She has several. It's interesting to see the girls learn about new things like fish, books and the ocean. They haven't been exposed to the world. Yuuri's drawing of Chito was funny.

Ok serious question to whoever's read the manga: are we ever going to see any real story about the world itself and how it came to be this way etc or is it going to keep being like these episodes for the whole show? Because I do find the world quite intriguing but I don't really care about iyashikei stuff like this so if it's the latter then I'd probably drop it

They are uncertain of what power plant is, or fish is, or even an ocean? Looks like it took place way ahead in the future.

Chi-chan is a lot smarter than I thought. Best thing is having Yuuri as her partner.

Liking the series so far, and waiting for the next episode.

I love the art. It's very refreshing. Well, not too refreshing as Made in Abyss sort of had the same style.

The dystopian setting is very well represented.

What impresses me the most is the way this show is written and not in the conventional sense as this doesn't have an engrossing plot which ties it all together at least not yet... What impresses me are the dialogues.... They are these profound concepts which the two characters delivery very nonchalantly. Like the part about what memories are and how they had to burn books for heat... Wow.

OP is adorable to the point of hilarity. I like the show, despite the blobiness. I still wish the original artist had chosen a different art style, but the concept and execution is good enough that I can overlook it.

Very good OP and ED *_*, the op is especially cute and the song fits the anime very well.
Last episode was more of a premise than an actual start, this one felt a lot more like an actual adventure. The initial shots in the snowy night was sort of scary considering that only the two of them are on the same "team" and that everyone else is probably hunting for food to survive. So moving, with a tank yes, with lights on made me kind of worried about them being able to survive in this post apocaliptic scenery.
I really love how immersive and eerie the background ambience is.

i can't help but feel the cognitive dissonance as i watch this show lol... the characters are so cute and the "plot" is so easy-going... but the backdrop of the show is so depressing omg. i actually can't decide if i want plot progression/new characters or not because i can't see a way to do it without losing its lighthearted approach...

also i love the art style so much!! it's so cute when they "melt" into their Super chibi modes lol

Like the episode a lot. Somehow different to the previous one, since it was so shiny and bright, kinda hopeful instead the previous so dark and gloomy.

I'm really enjoying this series so far. The characters are good, the music is good, the plot is good, the visuals are ok-good, and the pacing is also good.

Kinda funny 'cause Yuuri makes me cringe so hard and totally reminds me of Nichijou's Yuuko xDDD

It reminds me of Blame! a lot with its never-ending, multi-layered, sprawling industrial setting. I'm guessing it wasn't abandoned but that something like nuclear winter wiped everything out. Also, any OP and ED with dancing I'll watch.

This is cute and all, but i kinda feel... I dont know how to put it. Sad? Worried? when watching this. I mean the world is in ruins, the girls nearly freeze to death at the beginning of the episode and apparently there isn't any plant or animal life whatsoever apart form those two. I have the feeling that this show is going to get depressing soon.

The OP song was very upbeat and catchy. Apart from the 'dabbing' moment, both Yuuri and Chito sure know how to dance. =)

Same goes for the ED song too, which put a smile to my face when the two of them were having a small snowball fight.

As for the episode itself, it was interesting and enjoyable to see the two girls battle their way to get shelter from the blizzard, then thanks to a hot water pipe, they found an old broken pipe and used it for a bath. Creative and impressive, but seeing the two of them sink into the water and their faces melt was cute and amusing. =3

They struck gold when they found that fish and had a nice cooked meal under the clear sky. Once again, I'm intrigued about the setting and how far ahead in the future their world is compared to ours. I still hope that the story will touch on the past and start to explain more about how the human civilisation has almost come to an end someday.

Nice episode overall and I'm looking forward to seeing what the girls will encounter next week. =D

YES, PLEASE. I love how this is so in-character to them.

Had a bit chuckle here and there because of their antics, haha. I hope more people will recognize this series, if they're a fan of iyashikei stuff. Is it wrong I'm so into this the most in this season since the first episode? It has been a long time since I'm attached to an anime character.. Loved the artstyle, it suits the 'cute but depressing' the vibe I'm getting from the show. Leaved us feeling warm and cozy yet still reminded us the sad and depressing situation the characters are currently in. Looking forward to the next episode. If this keep this quality 'til the end, I'll give it a 9 instead of an 8.

And I assume they have pleasured themselves with the fish.

@Ziafung, I really hope that's the case here. I've always been mind-blown by One Piece's world building and would more than love to see other animes like that. Wish they'll have their own genre, even.

I'm gonna be honest here and say that I'm far, far more interested in this world that our characters inhabit rather than the characters themselves: while they aren't too bad at this point (they have a pretty decent rapport at least), I kinda view them as more of a means to an end, that end being learning more about this world and what actually happened to it. I mean, the fact that they don't know about fish or the ocean raises so many questions about their backgrounds, not to mention the whole "upper levels" thing (whatever that means).

I'm not particularly enamoured with either the OP or ED, but both have decent animation in them (barring that dab that I was desperately hoping I had imagined seeing).

Lol they seriously hit that dab in the OP.

This was another good episode, but it would be nice to see more of this world besides just the two girls. I feel like that could be an interesting concept to explore instead of it just being the daily lives of these girls in an apocalyptic setting. But even if that doesn't happen, I'm still fine with this form of presentation.

They do the tension and atmosphere so well. Just look at Yuuri attempting to shoot the pipe for hot water, gave me some goosebumps how they did that scene.

Also that last minute of the episode was AMAZING, dialogue was super nice, especially that ''refreshed from the meat'' line from Yuuri knowing that she didn't know what a fish was. Also that shot with the pillars had me like :O

The setting is one of the vast very very ancient industrial complex-megacities.

The original civilization all but wiped themselves out,the survivors formed a new civilization which lasted for about 100yrs before they started yet another world war and so on,now the girls just wander about.

put in spoiler bcs it's slightly long and possibly boring

btw people it's not just dab: there are moonwalk, saturday night fever's John Travolta's dance, 70's disco dance, and bunch of pop cultures and even beyond that;
the OP references a lot of things from the modern and post-modern world aka. the world that got extinct, which remnants Chito and Yuuri are now exploring.

I enjoyed this episode a lot.
I love girls interactions with each other, they are so different yet it is so enjoyable to watch them.
The situation they find themselves in is so wrong, it is very disturbing, but they can somehow live with it.

I knew from the start that giving the book to Yuu was a bad idea.
I agree with Chi, writing and books are the foundations of the civilisation.
It must have been painful for Chi to use them as a fuel.
Who is Grandpa?

After this episode I feel we will not really get any answers to questions about their world. A lot of clues probably, but not real answers.
I noticed Chi knows a lot of stuff, but the one interested in world and asking questions is Yuu.

I don't mind the episodic character of the story at all.
As read in comments, OP and ED are so catchy. I like both.
Definitely one of the most interesting series airing now.

And great episode, even better than the previous one.

Really had to lol, when Chi and Yuu were building their own bath, that was clever.

The scene itself was so relaxing, one of the best bath scenes I have seen in anime. The situation in which the girls were made it also look extra cozy, have the need to take one too.

That OP really caught me off guard. The girls dancing around all silly-like and having fun is such a stark contrast to the feeling of this post apocalyptic world they actually live in. Unexpected but I like it.

Yuu is such a dunce, throwing one of 4 books into the fire just after being told how important they are. Her apology was cute tho. We also got more information about the world they live in. Really liking this show.

Guys, just to be clear. It was not fanservice because it's their physiological need. In the manga, they only got the chance to a bath twice. This is the first one. And about the architecture: The aesthetic it's kinda "futuristic" and "surreal". It doesn't need to make sense. It's just there.

It's pretty cool how things are happening. It's slow and I love it. The manga is kinda fast. Everything is being really well adapted.
