| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This is getting interesting. I really like the way the cast split up to find out their own clues, only for them to come together and at different times. The set up as always has been good, so let's see if the conclusion can live up to it without ruining everything. Formula really showing now, with a "curse" that takes away those who desecrate the old village, and another sealed room murder, and a cop who acts like he knows better than the kids but is proven wrong and probably a lot more of stuff I'm blanking on. Despite attempting to shake it up quite a bit with the locked in the basement episodes, and the headless woman episode, and the Megu robber episode, and the set up for spirited away village, and the groping episode, and the train episode, some being hit or miss, the anime still tends to fall back on some variation of it's formula most of the time making it very predictable and dare I say, boring at times. This is especially noticeable when the conclusions often make use of plot devices and contrivances that devalue the rest of the case. Looking at you Demon's Banquet. |

| The police is indeed annoying but it's a nice change of pace from every other officer just straight up accepting the DDS people, especially when the location is more towards the countryside. |
