 At the end of the rebroadcast of Owarimonogatari on Saturday, it was revealed that the second installment of the series will premiere as a two-day special on August 12 and August 13, and run for two hours each on Tokyo MX at 7:00 pm, followed by BS11, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV. Abema TV will also stream the specials.The adaptation will span for seven episodes, covering the Mayoi Hell, Hitagi Rendezvous, and Ougi Dark arcs from the fifth volume of Monogatari Series: Final Season. The main cast and staff will reprise their roles from the first Owarimonogatari TV anime. ClariS will perform the new ending theme song "SHIORI." The first Owarimonogatari anime adaptation covered NisiOisiN's third and fourth volume of Monogatari Series: Final Season. The series premiered in Fall 2015 with a total of 12 episodes, and was directed by Akiyuki Shinbou and Tomoyuki Itamura at studio Shaft. Probably just getting adapted on it's own afterwards. Not like it ends with that either so there's stuff left to adapt no matter what. |

Koyomimonogatari had 12 arcs and was adapted into around 6 episodes, and Kizumonogatari had 1 arc and was adapted into around 8. Just look at Owarimonogatari Volume 1, i.e. the first seven episodes of Owarimonogatari TV, that also had three arcs. There is nothing to be disappointed about, in fact it would be a horrible adaptation if they gave each arc 4 episodes, everyone would hate it. |

| The way the article is worded makes it sound like it will ruin for 2 hours on both August 12th and the 13th? Does that mean there would be one long episode one day and then 6 episodes the other day, sort of like Owari Vol 1? I would certainly like this, though it might be dragging out the source material. In any case, even 2 hours total would be fine. This is just Owari Vol 3, not Zoku-Owari, so based on how much material is actually in Vol 3 this is exactly the amount of time Shaft has given to every book. Also, this could be another Hana/Tsuki situation, where we get one long special in the Summer and the next special this Winter. |
