Aww, Nina looks cute in more girly clothes. She should wear them more often!
The shopping trip was cute.

I'm glad they are still giving Rita more screen time this episode. After all the action and drama, an episode like this was needed. Felt kinda bad at the slaves though.

Wait, Mugaro was a girl?
I feel bad for Rita, hoping for clueless Kaisar to propose..She did well to punch him, been waiting 5 episodes for someone to do it.
Charioce is such a close-minded dimwit. Kaisar showed more balls than ever in that final argument, good to seem him stand up for once. Maybe that punch did work.

Kaisar x Rita, ah shit, is this gonna happen? :O She's making him speak out to Charioce basically.

I have no idea whether or not Mugaro is a boy or a girl now =/

Other than that, this was a nice setup episode, we got to see more of Mugaro's power and we pretty much got to see where all 4 factions are standing currently with Azazel and his demons most importantly being the ones ready to make moves

But I must say that my favorite part was definitely seeing Kaisar stand up to the king....The King had a point in regards to wanting humanity to change and be strong enough to not have to subjugate to the gods or demons but Kaisar is 100% right about everything he said

THAT is the Kaisar we've all come to know and love, so I'm glad that he finally grew a pair and remembered who he is in front of the king - I still dislike him

Mugaro was a girl?! I'm shocked.

Kaisar, never change. Also, hair down. He should keep it that way. And I have a feeling that Kaisair is shaping up as a possible future king of man replacing Charioce when this mess is over - hardworking and fearless, but understanding and willing to cooperate and work towards all the three races coexisting in peace.

plot twist: Mugaro is a girl and ''Azazel is such a stupid demon''.
second plot twist: Mugaro is not a girl after all, Nina is the stupid one after all.

aaand in the end ... we see the eyes! He MUST have a connection with Michael.

(also, Mugaro is such a good kid, he is like ''If she's happy with this, so be it''.)

I'm conflicted on Mugaro's gender. Either s/he really is a girl and I was mistaken this whole time, or Nina is just confused.

That scene with Rita and Kaisar was pretty funny, poor Rita thought he was going to make a love confession. I really liked the part where Mugaro used his/her power to free the demon slaves, I hope we learn the mystery about him/her soon. The confrontation between Kaisar and Charioce was also nicely done.

Side note, it took 5 episodes, but I think the OP is finally starting to grow on me.....

Poor Rita. Kaiser is just clueless.

I'm glad that Rita was able to remind Kaisar about what was important to him. She gave him a nice punch as well.

Kaisar and Chiarioce confrontation was great. They both had good points but I'm with Kaisar.

Man that episode felt too short! Characters left and right use different pronouns for Mugaro's gender so I wonder if they'll keep it ambiguous? (Like Hanji from SnK or Crona from Soul Eater) Either way they're super adorable in the outfit Nina picked out for them and I can't wait to see where they story will take us next!

The question about what happened to the higher level demons like Lucifer still remain unanswered. Seriously, Lucifer was touted to be a super freaking powerful demon, it makes no sense for him to have fallen when the humans took over Cocytus. I'm fearing this will remain a plot hole given how the anime is progressing. Sigh~
At least the episodes are good enough that I can let these plot holes slide. And Kaisar really needs to learn how to read the atmosphere, the way he started his rant was almost like he was about to propose to Rita hahahah. Good seeing he finally standing up to the King instead of being a boot licker like in the previous episode, Rita's punch really did work.

It seems like none of the Orlean Knights know what happened to Jeanne, Kaisar included. I bet once they find out, they'll defect en masse.

This cast! So much love given to each of the characters. Kaisar and Rita were priceless.

I am annoyed by Mugaro, I don't like characters with a one-person attachment, especially when they use power based on it. Tho she/he was in the same situation as demons...
Nina's ignorance messes things up too, but she is a wild card and has more agency, so to say.

I didn't get why the black knight was so tense during the king's dinner scene. They added scary music and showed his dead expression, but while Charioce is cruel, we haven't seen him execute his people so far. He even suffers Kaisar.

All in all, it's a slower but still very enjoyable episode.

There're two questions about worldbuilding that bug me though:
1 - Nobody reacts to the detail that Nina comes from a whole willage of human-dragons that can control themselves.
2 - It's bad to see living beings tortured, but as the king says demons have attacked the capital before, gods are kind of assholes too (most of help in the first season was from Michael, but it was because of his love). And the three races united out of extreme necessity, so the fight against Bahamut is kinda irrelevant to the peaceful-time politics. Like, what Charioce does will bite him in the ass, but he has a point and also probably a personal reason. Actually, while he is doomed, his ability to mess up the other races is likely to remind the gods that they should be more attentive to the mortals.

Oh, and could someone remind me what that monument was about?

Anyway, nice episode.

Good to see Kaisar growing some balls and standing up to the King. And speaking of them i found really weird that he decided to let Kaisar alive after that confrontation... Did Chiarioce really expect he wont try to do anything in the future to mess with his "human domination" plans?

This was another great episode. Kinda makes me mad Azazel really plans on using Nina to accomplish his goal. The scene where Rita and Kaiser are having lunch was hilarious. Felt bad for Rita expecting a confession and lol'd when she punched the shit out of Kaiser and he got wet.

Nina was cute as fuck wearing other clothes and I still wondered why no one could notice Mugaro is a dude. Also felt bad for Bacchus as he got kicked out of his own carriage lol. Can't wait for next episode!

As he said in a previous episode, it's interesting to keep an eye on him and also because he has ties to Azazel -- and Charioce also did say this episode that following the rag demon/Azazel will lead him to the holy child, which is what his end goal seems to be. He probably plans to use Mugaro to bring down the gods.

Aha!
My suspicions were correct...Mugaro is a girl after all! I think.
Or gender neutral maybe. Anyway, Imma go with "she" for now.

She looked so cute in that frilly dress, I hope she keeps wearing that sorta stuff. Same goes for Nina too ^^

And poor little Rita getting a bit excited at the prospect of Kaisar confessing to her. Does that mean she might have feelings for him??...Don't think she stands a chance anyways, y'know since she's a zombified Loli XD
also why can't Kaisar's hair just be wet all the time. it looks so pretty like that

For some strange reason, the King is beginning to remind me of Chrollo from HxH...I dunno, they kind of emit the same aura.

Love Bacchus' little scream at the end when he saw Mugaro's eye lol

Poor Rita. How would "love" even work between them anyway? Rita's a zombie. If they find a spell or a way to "revive" her body, I could see this ship sail. However, at the moment, I really can't.

I'm pretty sure Mugaro is a boy. Everyone else has been calling him a "HE" since the beginning, it's only Nina would has said "she".

It's a classic "trap joke" set up. Character thinks it's a "she" and continues to say "she" until either she walks into a changing room or someone flat out tells her "He's a boy."

I mean either all of the other characters are wrong for referring to Mugaro as a boy or Nina's wrong for referring to Mugaro as a girl....and I love Nina but she's not the sharpest tool in the shed lmao. Seems like an elaborate joke setup to me but we'll see.

I love Mugaro so I'm happy we got to see him relax for a bit and go shopping with Nina, that portion of the episode really warmed my heart. Nina is such a fun character overall, I'm really enjoying her.

Kaisar, Kaisar, Kaisar. He's been growing bit by bit but I'm really ready for him to get a firm resolve and stick to it. His "argument" with Charioce was an incredible scene but Charioce was talking circles around him.

And as much as I dislike Charioce I've got to put some respect on the man's name. He's a compelling character for sure. His downfall will be glorious....when it eventually comes.

I believe Nina is the only one confused about Murago's gender (in the show - clearly a bunch of you are as well). Bacchus's question about Murago's "get up" basically confirms that, for me at least.

Poor Rita. Though I never grieve a punch to the face for Kaisar. He needs them. I do wish he'd get rid of the hair pins and keep his hair down. But then his appearance wouldn't match his personality. I was surprised that he stood up to the king but disappointed that his solution was so naive and impossible. Yes, everyone got along for five minutes to defeat a common enemy at the end of S1 but no one would actually believe that could be sustained. Not that I'm advocating the king's solution either. Though it was funny that I was noting how humans, generally the weakest of sentient races in modern fiction had suddenly "defeated the gods and conquered the demons" and then the king goes and says as much out loud. Can't say he didn't accomplish anything in his reign.

Honestly, I'm liking this season even better than the first!!

A hero will sacrifice the one he loves to save the world. A villain will sacrifice the world for the one he loves. I'll take the villain.

He might want Kaiser to stop him subconsciously. Lol

To be frank, personally I think the King resolution was better in theory. But what makes it not feasible is obtaining and using that absolute power. There's no way to maintain that overwhelming power even if he managed to get it eventually.

Sometimes, you have to fight evil with (greater) evil, poison with poison. An example of this in real life would be how you deal with terrorists. Quite sure the movie, Unthinkable is happening in real life to a certain extend.

Bacchus didn't even know that Maguro's eyes were not the same color, I doubt he would know about his/her gender. He only knows Maguro as Azazel's sidekick.

It seems like Maguro's gender is suppose to be a mystery (for now), as even the official Japanese site only refers to him/her as the "mystery child".

As it was mentioned in this episode, for one, Kaisar is one of the heroes hailed far and wide for fighting off Bahamut. It wouldn't do a favor to Charioce's reputation to openly imprison him, exile him or execute him. In secret though? Yes, like what he apparently did with Jeanne. But this is where reason #2 comes in play. Charioce seems to be fascinated by Kaisar precisely because their views are so clashing - he sees that Kaisar really is a very upstanding, honorable and fearless person, so it gives Kaisar's viewpoint weight that none of the others have in Charioce's eyes, as well as his lowkey respect. I get a feeling that Charioce actually would like Kaisar on his side pretty bad, with a pure and noble person like Kaisar it'd be like the highest acknowledgement to him that his chosen path is right. At the same time, he has a bit of mad dog tendencies with his intention of basically fighting the rest of the world that isn't human, so if he can't have Kaisar's support, he wouldn't mind having his hostility, wishing for a clash not only with words but with swords as well, like "Bring it" and "Try me if you can". That's how I interpret his warning to Kaisar in this episode.

Well, that was certainly another interesting episode, not least because of the Gods getting closer to finding Mugaro and Bacchus being able to tell what he is (seriously, I'm sure Mugaro's a guy, and it really confused me that no one else pointed that out. Then again, Mugaro can't talk to confirm either way, so who knows?).
Other than that, I felt kinda sorry for Rita as she clearly thought Kaisar was confessing to her and really seemed to want that to be the case, but instead he was basically being pathetic and ranting about her. Good thing about that is she was able to give him the punch that motivated him to confront Charioce, with their talk suggesting to me that Charioce thinks himself totally infallible and unstoppable, even though Mugaro and Nina each cause him so many problems, never mind a threat like Bahamut. I can tell that at some point down the line he's going to learn just how wrong he is in the hardest way possible, and so far I would definitely say he deserves as much.
