THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
At this point, I think the show pretty much spelt out everything even with the mastermind that came up with the decode. Izumi is such a cunning bastard. Not just weird looking but also a killer as well.

Felt like this entire episode is pushing everything for the finale with all the buildup. I'm not expecting much next episode.

This episode explains rather almost everything, if not all and the main characters finally knows about the evil plan and who is behind it. Next episode gonna be the final "battle" and arrests.

Also glad they stopped the damn weird guy making souls vanish !

Whoa, Izumin's finally snapped and revealed his true identity. Then Ryouko also already telling all she know about what to do next. So the next, Final Episode is about encountering MMG and Odd Eye directly.

Too bad that the first half of this show was bad.
Still this show goes from 1/10 to 5/10 for now.

That is a bonafide science-fiction masterpiece. It is a pity how it had to build up to stop attracting so much hatred, but exactly because of this is lives up to the genre.

Finally, an episode that just went and explained stuff without introducing anything new at this late a stage in the series. Mind you, Izumi being that guy destroying the spirits was surprising, but it does make sense once you think about how they've presented Izumi up to this point.

Still not got the faintest idea how this will end, or if that is a good or bad thing.

I believe by becoming the key Aveline is going to get "erased" like returning to a normal state of existence between astral plane and real plane, since they will have thwart the evil plans and the Odd Eye will stop supporting the correlating existence of 256 ghosts. In short, she is going to do a sacrifice and leave the body of Narusawa Ryoko.
Eeeeei boy though we now have the back from the dead stupid novel writter who possibly has the key, and the time traveling theories in which, I believe, the detective kid is trying to figure out how to return everyone back in their bodies or like stop it all from happening to them in the first place. So complicated.

Great episode, everything sort of makes sense now.

Though it looks like the last episode's gonna be rather rushed, assuming that the show's going to put into action/explain stuff like Nishizono's body, Kusakabe's "time travel", Miyuu's fortune telling abilities, that one albino kid AND the confrontation with the MMG and the Odd Eye, all into one 24 minute episode. (Unless the final ep is gonna be double length or something but its unlikely). Next week's gonna be crazy but nonetheless im still hyped.

Also Gamon growing wings in the preview :o

Info dump episode. To destroy the odd eye, they need the booth key, the gun, the sky sensor and Gamon in astral form. I think this is how they're going to do it. Booth key seems like a trigger to the gun, then the sky sensor will receive a lot of amount of electromagnetic waves, since it has tesla coil, which will be transferred to the gun. Then, release the stored large amount of electromagnetic waves to Gamon in astral form.

Finally Gamon grow his wings and become an Angel xD.

Though I wonder how Aveline will turn herself as the booth key.

Good episode, The show basically explained everything that could be speculated at this point.

Frequency is what separates everything, Scandium and EM waves were used to tune the astral projections in the spirit realm to recognize the real world.

So Izumi is the leader of the those masked guys, That was quite unexpected. He was also the one who killed Gamon's Dad and the professor.

They even explained the mutual recognition thing that I mentioned back when Miyu lost her hair.

Time difference between astral projection and reality is 1 day-1minute. :o

So Gamon is something called an Orphan Receptor, Capable of outputting more than normal EM power because it's amplified by the sky sensor. Aveline is gonna assault Odd Eye to destroy the New World system, I suppose Gamon's powers will prove really useful here when they're boosted with the gun.

Next episode should be quite interesting, Wonder how a bunch of astral projections are gonna take down an entire facility. Or in fact the very facility that allows them to remain in contact with humans.

Now, this was the most stable episode of whole series.

I gave this show 7 at the beginning. Will it change? I think not.

I call those ";" series. Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes and now we have Occultic;Nine (more like Occultic;Nein). If I compare this to its ancestor anime shows, no, it will not be greater than 7. I do not say the show was bad. The thing is, I had hope since it was -you know- the one of ";" series. So, I can at least say, it was worst of ";" shows, but it does not mean "not worth to watch" at all.

The problem is the stylistics of show. Fast-paced, short-turn-taker dialogues... Heavily basing upon "projection" of otaku style (not otaku style, but a projection. we see transilience of otaku traces. like, neet, harem, etc.).

There was not any significant, touching OSTs. Opening and ending might be "okay" to you, but it is "below okay" to me (actually, there was not any great OST on ";" shows).

Now, we will wait for the battle, the climax, the end.

El, psy, congroo.

So many revelations in this episode. Izumi being the creepy masked person from the previous episode, Kusakabe receiving transplants from Ria's brother, and a whole plethora of other information was revealed. I'm just glad everything was finally explained and clarified. I have no idea how the hell this will end but I think it'll be interesting to say the least.

Nice episode.

Aveline revealing more information. Everything is coming together.

DAMN Izumi was the guy erasing astral bodies.
Gamon with that nice punch.

Objective is to stop Odd Eye. Lets see how this works out.
1 ep to go.

so since time passes faster in astral form, that means if they get back to their dead bodies fast enough they can come back to life?
i guess that's how nishizono got her body back and the reason moritsuka says he doesn't have much time.

did they ever explain how nishizono's doujin predicted the future?
we also dont know exactly why asuna couldnt read yuuta's memories.

this show is slowly redeeming itself from the failure first 4 episodes it was, i'm pretty sure if it weren't from that it could be around 7 - 8 of rating right now (blame a-1 pictures), right now it gets even more interesting and cutting ties with plotholes, Ryotits is useful now, (not really she actually was the entire show acting as Radia) the whole character cast become less cringey... btw, BOOM HEADSHOT WITH THAT PUNCH XD

Yea, that's the shame of having only 12 episodes and so much info to cram in. A lot of really fun and cool elements but not enough time to properly tell the story.
I couldn't think of anything cool to put here.

Well then a lot of things have been cleared up
Gamotan is an Orphan Receptor, meaning he can be supercharged with electromagnetic force, more so than other astral bodies.
Seems like Moritsuka (or maybe all the 256 first generation bodies) are under a time constraint of some sort? Probably having to do with how long they have left to get back into their real bodies before it's too late. Wondering how they'll explain that
I actually liked this ep a lot. Asuna's "Wha-" when Gamotan called her Asunyan was cute af. So was Aveline's reaction

its all revealed, the mystery with the astral body and also the ghost thats been staying with ria all this time. It really feels like the ending of this anime already

all that's left is to destroy the organization and then peace will be returned. I wonder what will happen after they destroy odd eye, will all the astral bodies disappear or will they be able to continue living but just can't be seen, in other words just become normal ghosts again?

Well the only thing i am looking forward to is gamon being a hero

This is basically chaos head 2.0, chosen one, friend has been guiding the mc and knows everything, another friend is the villain and now to destroy the org behind it all.

Aveline taking over ryotas is sad, poor original roytas :'(
Manager Izumi was the murderer all along but gamotan the chosen one saves the day XD
Ari

Aria finally gets with her brother sort of and shun figures out the time difference between kiryuu's out of body future experience.
So not much time might have passed in the real world and all this is actually just still in the real world.

The items are gone and now aveline wants to use herself as the key or something.

This episode was more enjoyable than the ones before, but I'm still not convinced that this is a good, or even average show (and this makes me very sad because I came to like Sarai a lot)

Also I'm getting tired of all the explanations and this intertwined story. I don't really care anymore how this is ending, I'm just glad that is is going to end soon.
Aaaargh I'm frustrated, I really want to like the anime but it's just not going to happen :(

I enjoyed this episode, but I don't think I understood half what they were talking about, and I certainly don't want to watch it all over again to find out. No clue what the odd eye is; I don't remember them mentioning it before.

I'm going to put this down as the fault of the show, since I have no problem following technical stuff in other anime, such as the Gundam franchise.

I'm surprised the people on this board are able to follow everything so easily.

So Izumi is the masked guy who was eliminating the ghosts in the previous episode. I'm surprised that's it's him, but either way, Gamon took him out with some help from Aveline/Ryoka.

However, just like with Myu's hair a few episodes back, the boot key disappeared, so Aveline is preparing herself to be the key that will help them destroy the Odd Eye. Does that mean that Aveline will disappear and Ryoka herself remains unaffected?

Overall, this episode was really good and it explained a lot of loose ends as well.

That ending card though...wat... O__O

That ending card for people who want to see it:

An interesting clear-up. Everything's coming together for the final. Kinda annoyed that the Ria Sub-Plot is just... a sub-plot and it literally came to an end this episode. It's as if she wasn't a neccessary character as the Devil guy's 'time-rewinding' is just used as evidence for when Aveline says that time is experienced faster by Ghosts. And what happened to that Doujin Manga Author?

Hopefully Moritsuka will meet up with the main characters next episode also.

Hopefully the final will be good.

A-1, please don't try being Shaft, you suck at doing that.

But at least we got all the answers now, no matter how bad main plotline with evil organization is.
Heck, I'm saying it all over again but this would be kinda okay-ish show if made into two-cours.
Sadly, this adaptation is a flop, better forget it fast (not that I believe that source matterial is anything close to being good but literally anything could be better that this mess).

This anime is basically "boobs". Everything else, being it plot, pacing, character exposition or overall coherence, even its direction simply doesn't work.
