----------------------------------------
Anyone else see Episode II at MCM Loves Anime? I had a very good experience watching it since it was with other people rather than just myself or one or two friends. This was most Gundam fans I have been with in a single place. I fell so happy to one of the first people in the world outside of Japan to see it.

Anyway, I remember some of the key scenes from the manga pages. Catching all the cameos and foreshadowing.

I hoped it would be longer as in the length of plot it covered. Pretty much what I expected, though. I'm a Char Aznable addict, so really all of this is awesome for me.

They do well showing Char's growing darkness. Char is a sociopath at a young age. I'm quite surprise.

Woah, the second episode was really good. I love how it builds and refines upon the MSG 0079 with these backstories. Some really emotional moments in this one, I think it was quite a lot more intense than the first episode with its drama. They portray Casval's growing twisted mind really nicely and make it rather believable.

And the next one is so so far away. Oh well, enjoy this pic of Sayla and Casval nii-san in the Texas colony. That horse is so derp lmao

Cameo from from Mirai! I wonder why they spelled his alias as Edouard instead of using the usual w. Edit: I answered my own question. It's due to Japanese to English romanization, spelling things exactly as it's sounded. At any rate, I think it's pretty obvious now as to the fate of the real Char, with Casval eventually taking his identity.

Can't quite put my finger on it as to why, but I'm enjoying this far more than the currently airing Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans anime. Maybe it's the character designs, or maybe it's just because I'm an oldie.

It's probably because that's the way Edward generally gets spelled in Spanish. With them supposedly being the children of Don Teabolo (in Spain), it would fit their cover better.

This episode was pretty good. I enjoyed it a good bit. Nice to see them gradually building those prototype zakus .

I loved Mirai ,Amuro , and the purple haired zaibi kid its so nice seeing younger versions of familiar characters from 0079. I believe this is the first time we ever actually see Amuro's father which was interesting. I knew from the second Haru appeared on the screen Amuro was going to be pictured. There are all sorts of nods in this show to 0079 even something as simple as Artesia making eye contact breifly with amuro there.

I wasn't expecting all the western influince haha, from the whole cobwoy themed place they were living and then the singing in English which I thought was really good still.

I feel so bad for Artesia , that's pretty much a cascade of terrible events for her , dad was already dead, mom died, cat died soon after, then her brother really coldly leaving her and not explaining much at all of his reason for doing so.

I was really surprised initially , that there's already a kid name char aznable that looks almost exactly like Casval but of course it makes sense now, I'm guessing something is going to happen to the real Char and Casvals going to take his identity to accomplish his objectives. Especially with the real Char going to the military and whatnot I can already see where that will go ..

It was interesting to see Casval getting so unhinged like that. He's obviously very sharp and very passionate young man . That knight in armor dude vs casval guarding artesia in the beginning was unexpected and fun.

I'm hoping we get even more cameos from 0079 characters in the next two eps. Can't wait!

Pretty good episode overall. I got caught off guard with the knight assassin although he seemed like legit badass when he went for the kill. I also had a smile for reason during that brawl at the Eden bar.

Edouard's portrayal is pretty rough especially in the second half of the episode. I have some mixed feelings about his relationship with his family. Felt bad for their Mother though ;_; and of course Artesia. That cliffhanger has the chills. What a catchy ED theme song though, loved t.

That was pretty good, but it felt short. I guess that's what waiting half a year will do, it's Unicorn all over again. Shame that we won't see the conclusion until a year from now, and that's if we're lucky.

The CG was much less bothersome this time. Those putrid 3D horses were gone, and thank god for that because the horseriding scene with those would have been unbearable. The 3D castle blended in well, and the only time 3D humans were used was for one of the crowd scenes, and it wasn't distracting there. Still seems to have a much smaller budget than Unicorn, but at least they've made it less obvious.

Step up from the previous episode, and the poster for episode 3 is hype as fuck:

In the Vertical Translation of the manga they spell Casval's alias as Éduoard too. Keep in mind that Don Teabolo Mass's residence is in Andalusia, Spain.

I figured they'd end with the shuttle to Munzo and the identity swapping, would've made for a more intense cliffhanger.

I can only hope they follow this up with the full Origin story. Sayla gets a lot more screentime there, particularly towards the end.

Great and intriguing episode. Really puts into perspective so much of 0079 (and beyond) even with little things. Ramba's involvement by way of Dozle, Sayla's character and of course, as the origin goes on, Casval's evolution. Looking forward to the rest!

sidenote: how about that super crazy animation budget during those mecha tests?

I really liked this episode, can't wait for the next one. To see Casval's dark side is so intrigue. Good to see Ramba Ral becoming a boss.

I don't mind to see Artesia more often instead of the original story line, makes the series more complex which I find interesting.

Fantastic episode and enjoyable all the way through. I liked the previous one slightly more because it had more impact, while this one was more of a build up episode that sets the stage for the next one. But it was excellent build up and very intriguing nonetheless. Couldn't ask for anything more from this. Also Amura and Mirai appeared..

Thank god for the 4 min recap it refreshed my memories so well. Poor Sayla such terrible chains of bad luck/tragedy. She's so mature for her age and yet so cute <3

I was actually really confused at the start after seeing a guy called Char Aznable O_o...until I realized how things will go. He'll probably be for taking his identity.

Eduoard's coldness was so friggin cool. Loved seeing how he developed.

Casval is very terrifying indeed. But I like they show the darkness inside him. Only his cute imouto can stop/control him for now.

Why do I have the ominous feeling that the real Char Aznable will become an unfornate victim of Casval nii san's thirst for revenge?

This episode was a step up from the previous one, even though it mostly served as a build up to Casval's transformation into Char Aznable.

Splendid episode. Casval's character development is just so well done. I love how caring he is to Artesia (well, until he left her), also, man what a fiiiiine young lad he is. Such an eye candy, a handsome psychopath.

And nice young Mirai & Amuro cameos. Man, I might pick up the manga if it isn't so pricey in my country + the current economy weakens the currency so I can't really import it either, why am I a poorfag tch.

That was a great episode. I love how they are using everything as possible from 0079 and refining it. And man, I can't stop liking Char more and more.

That was a quite emotional episode too, but I can't help that I laughed so hard when Lucifer died. They really tried hard to make all Sayla relatives to leave her, poor thing.

And one question from Zeta:

Gahh the mobile workers were so cool. That whole scene was directed so well. The angles it was shot from and showing it through a hazy camera conveyed its horrifying power. It feels like an ominous weapon that would change warfare as it should.

Also poor Sayla she's like the bad luck brian of Gundam. I just wanna hold her and tell her its alright she will be a total bad ass in a few years. T.T

Char beating up that scout was so satisfying, felt like these two episodes built up to that really well.

Despite being shorter, the narrative has the great merit of being able to condense enough events and not leave a bad taste in the mouth. But the thing that I liked the film, is the atmosphere that reigned during viewing, much more dark and raw. Well it built the screenplay, which managed to make me eyes widen, when Artemisia meets Char, I was literally with open mouth, I could not ratiocination on that sudden event. So Char and Casval, are two characters in their own right; I'm looking forward to more understand. They are surprised to see, as in the previous film, the various characters who were part of the 0079 series, in a certain way, some of them already knew each child. It is interesting to know in more depth, the characters of the time series of Gundam, we appreciate them, for better or for worse.

Very nice this second ova/film!!!
The most interesting was the Casval/Eduard is not the same person that Char Aznable. I always thought that Casval was Char Aznable, but in this episode we could watch that Char is a young boy, the same physical appearance that Casval, except the colour eyes, brown, of a family of Side 5 with dreams. Meanwhile Casval every minute has a dark heart, hate, resentment and revenge all that he has!!!
Artesia and Casval lose in this episode their mother, but Artesia loses more, Lucifer his cat died and Casval go out!!!

Also is important, the Zeon development of the Mobile Workers, that years later ends in the Mobile Suits!!!!

Was a nice second ova, with a short apparence of a young Mirai.

Artesia really had it bad didn't she. Brutal how it all came crashing down at once. Moving from Earth to a colony, even a good one, would be hard enough. As someone mentioned earlier, I have a feeling the real Char will go down for Casval's revenge quest. That dude hates everyone. Still struggling to see how his Earthnoid hate manifests, but I'm sure it will develop soon enough.

Ramba Ral might be my favorite character in this series. We got a glimpse of Amuro too, so we'll see how that plays out. He's a bit younger than Casval, and is just concerned with Haru. Awesome. Innocence, yeah that will be taken from you in a matter of a decade.

Cool episode.

Was watching the TV adaptation and couldn't resist myself to start watching this instead. Saddened by the deaths of Lucifer and Astraia, from one who has only seen the 0079 movies, now I understand the way Sayla Mass sees things during her time in White Base.

But to be honest, I am going to probably stop watching at episode 3, and try and finish 0079 these weeks. I liked the 3 movies, but it's time that I get to watch the original series before finishing these ovas.

Those 0079 movies are the better version of the story - rewritten dialogs, recreated battle scenes with movie animation quality ect.
The TV series at times come very bizzarre, some missing links too (and when I first watching the movies I though that those are adaption problems but naaah.).
