| A crossover anime film that brings together the Cyborg 009 and Devilman series has been announced, according to a recent newspaper report from Sankei Sports. The film will feature both franchise's titular characters and involves them in an epic battle. It is expected to premiere in October for a limited period of two weeks. Both Cyborg 009 and Devilman have recently been announced to get new adaptations based on their original franchise. | You motherf*cker. Look, Cyborg 009 and Devilman are my favourite retro franchises ever. I appreciate the fact that Go Nagai wants to pay homage to his original boss, Shotaro Ishinomori, the King of Manga. But from what I understand, there won't be two actual separate anime for Cyborg 009 and Devilman. Cyborg 009 got plenty of material in recent years, and the 2001 series was great. On the flipside, Devilman never got the proper anime treatment. The 2004 movie was awful and butchered the source material to bits. I sincerely hoped that the new Devilman anime would actually adapt the manga. In fact, I was certain that they would do it, but noooo. I'm depressed now. |

It has never been fully adapted into anime. The Cyborg 009 2001 reboot anime is fine on its own on the other hand.
