I definitely got a josei and mature like feeling watching this.

Relationship content wise, it's interesting to see the realism and while I don't think the Yotarou is a professional or anything, his relationship with his master has chemistry. Not bad for the performance either. It made people laugh at least so it had entertainment value.

A guy who cannot do anything long, including yakuza, found his place in Rakugo world. His teacher doesn't tell him anything and cannot do good Rakugo. The lady is kind enough to teach him. His yakuza aniki looks down on what he loves, though. He proved on his show that Rakugo is not just storytelling in front of that yakuza aniki.

I thought this OVA was a nice introduction. I hadn't read the manga. Now I'm really wondering whether the anime TV will just repeat the same thing (which mean the first two episodes). Guess I should head off to read the manga.

Akira Ishida really surprised me, he is so pro!

I chuckle a few time with Youtarou's play. So this is the famous Rakugo culture. :3

Well I've watched the TV series first before watching this and this episode was pretty much the first couple episodes of the series. So I imagine the next episode will be the same.

I still enjoyed this part and still am looking forward for the sequel!

If you go with the directors cut edition of the first episode it literally is the same.
Best to be watched after you watched through episodes 2 through 13 if you were to ask me, since it does take place afterwards.

The dearer you hold a memory the more painful it becomes.
