 It was announced via the March issue of Newtype that an idol anime titled Million Doll will air on TV in Summer 2015. The anime features idol group Itorio from Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and idol otaku Suuko, who uses her own blog to promote the idols. Asahi Production will animate the series and will get the cast through public audition. Million Doll is a web manga by Ai, who self-identifies as an idol otaku, that is published through the smartphone application GANMA!. It began serialization in December 2013 and has more than 50 chapters published. | Cast will be chosen through public audition? I've never really heard of any studio doing that sort of selection. I guess this is a chance for some new seiyuu to make their debut. The manga art looks alright and I hope the anime delivers. Not really familiar with Asahi Production's works, but will be looking forward to this. |
