It really depends. Cases like Hirano Aya are well deserved the indignation, but a lot of the fans still do a lot of well-wishing when seiyuus get married. You can't really single them out as much. And Rance, it's not just that. A lot of seiyuu's aren't exactly proud that they've lent their voices to smut since that's when they're usually just starting out. They use an alias so as to not ruin their resumes. |

That being said, I think I prefered Yao Kazuki as Rance from Rance: Sabaku no Guardian from 90s... His voice was always recognizable (since 80s as Judau in Gundam ZZ, till now as Franky in One Piece), and it naturally sounds kinda rough, which fitted Rance's personality. Current Rance's voice actor, whoever he is, isn't bad, but I can't help but think that he forces himself to sound "antiheroish". Yeah, you summed my feelings up. Somehow his VA in this OVA doesn't really have the voice that I envisioned. Kazuki was a lot better, but I still don't think he's the perfect fit. |
