Well, it's a one shot. The purpose of it is to show its readers the ideas the author has and if it gains popularity among them, more than likely, the author will decide to try to make a full length manga around the theme. I thought the idea was interesting. Though it kind of has the same idea as Yuuko in xxxholic, where if you want to gain something, you have to trade in something of equal value, in this story, it was your lifespan. |

Pretty good story. I don't really like the characters though. This is probably one of the worser one shots i've read. |

THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Well it has potential for Serialization... Yet it was a bit meh... How come a guy that was a total mess in life, became a prolific genius in the blink of the eye.... SOme people shoul have gotten worried over such thing... Yes the Yankee-looking guys messed with him, but he was wise enough to predict such thing and he was able to brush off the guys si easily... After all the best was Kumi... The Shopkeeper was weird... She was a Cat... Or looked like one with that... um... hairband and her slight eye pupils... But Shopkeeper didn't qualified for my Sexy-nya standards XD.... She was slightly simple and plain... This show us that we have to fight with our own powers... We have to work ourselves to death and get what we want with our own efforts... not with the help of others... The message is good... The way Toshiki, the main charac, paid for his new abilities was interesting... What I still don't like is why the ending had to be like that... I really think that the author should have had the guts to keep him killed... Personal Insolvency? The price of all this? Kumi forgetting the guy... Man I really think that's a bit lame... Well... It was a nice quick read anyway... Signs, Green |

i thought it was getting a little dark for comfort there for a second, but it does teach an important lesson, i wouldn't mind seeing this serialized |

Awesome one shot. I would really like to see this as a series, with the shopkeeper being the main character and dealing with new costumers. Her background should be pretty interesting as well. |

I thought the inept guy would be satisfied with one ability, I was not expecting him to buy that much and actually kill that girl. I liked the ending, the one shot teached an important lesson. |

But how far could it go into a series with only 1 character. Unless it starts to cover short storyies about how those users used their abilities. While the story was pretty good I guess I was not a major fan of the series. Sweet you can buy abilities at the cost of your lifespan but I think it should be really limited by what you can get and the ending.... Should have kept him dead but had to spend the rest of his life following kumi-chan as a ghost not able to change or affect anything. |

Mediocre drawings with crappy backgrounds, a dull story which isn't fleshed out in any way, incredibly predictable ending. 4/10 |

It was a good one shot with an important message. It would be good to become a series but then its a one shot for a reason |

Agreed, it's a good thing that Toshiki learnt his mistake and even chose to give up his life to bring back Kumi-chan back to life. :) |

I like it, it has potential. Love the storyline and art as well. |

It was interesting, although it didn't go anywhere. I think the idea is good though, it could have become like a bunch of individual little stories. |

over all it's good for something so short. well I would trade my life span for one and one thing only, the ability to realize all the good that I do in this world. |

it was interesting but would have been better if they could develop the characters and plot in a series Dx |

This had a really good start but toward the end the quality of the story started to drop and started going downhill. I didn't hate it but I wasnt all that great either. Loved the art though. |

I liked it... but I'm giving it a seven for the ending. Basically the MC got off scot free while some other poor sod lost his life to pay for his actions :/ Not exactly the greatest respect-builder in my opinion. And I really wish we saw more of the shopkeeper... |

That deus ex machina ending with the complete lack of consequences for Toshiki really lacked any kind of impact. Also, trading his lifespan for that kind of superpower to impress Kumi was just a silly choice. Toshiki could have at least gained a more romantic power such as flight in an attempt to swoon her over (which she would be scared by as well). Though, I suppose the author had to give him a deadly power that could accidently kill Kumi. |

a good concept that couldnt have been explored enough considering we are talking about 1 chapter. would be good to see this concept turned into a manga with some entertaining volumes. |

really enjoyed the concept of it, feel like this could’ve easily been better if it was maybe 4 chapters instead of a one shot |

Damn, that was really dark. Unfortunately, power and money is everything for a lot of people. This could have been even better if it was longer. |

Pretty decent story, sort of an extension of the Shinigami Eyes bargaining in Death Note. Ending is a bit of a cop-out, though, I was entirely expecting Toshiki to die at the same time as Kumi. |

Cool concept, but the execution was poorly done to his relationship with Kumi, and the plot of that quickly became boring and predictable, with a basic ending. 4/10. |

the characters arent that good, but its a one-shot so whatever. the premise seemed interesting but the story ended up being pretty uninteresting. hate the moral being shoved in ur face, no subtlety at all in the execution. |
