Now that's a fast anime announcement.

Does anyone know anything much about this series other than the fact that volume 2 comes out at the end of this week?

Started in December 2013...to early to have a anime.

At least the Character Design seems nice.

By somebody who wrote the script for the GJ-BU anime? Might be interesting.

On something we barely have any information on. Not even a proper synopsis.

Incidentally, volume 2, which comes out this Saturday, is currently ranked 38911th out of bunko volumes on amazon.

Yet it's getting an anime adaptation. Hmmm...

Wow that was fast, Pony Canyon must really have a lot of faith in this series, there's only one volume out, seems like it was planned from the start.

Anyways, It does sound intriguing but the covers while have a nice art, don't seem to connect to the sinopsis, what is that loli doing there ?

I knew I have seen the loli before, she looks like AnchoR, no wonder is the same artist.

But that's literally the only way. The sales of this series seem to be of the sort of level where the author buying a copy would have a significant boost on the total sales figure. The sort of level where the publisher would usually turn to the author and tell them to try coming up with something else, unless they were in a pre-fixed contract, in which case they would just try to cut their costs with the series as much as they possibly could. Not invest the vast amounts of money needed to churn out an anime adaptation.

In case you can't tell, I'm really wondering what's going on here.

Probably it would be a:
A) an OVA
B) half-cour or less
C) maybe it will air next year or next next year

Ah, forget it. Normally, I'd atleast find few bits of translation here and there before a novel get an anime adaptation. This one like, has nothing anywhere. Guess I'll just wait for the anime.

Hey, didn't you tell me that you can't tell what LN is going to get an adaptation based on sales? Doesn't this just prove you were right? lol

Edit: Unless you're commenting on the number of Volumes out. In which case, it does seem early...Just a little? lol

I did say that, yes. But when I did I was still talking of series with sales in the low thousands, which would thus still have a pre-existing fanbase to build on. This is more in the category of anime originals when it comes to fanbase, just without benefits like the flexibility that an actual anime original would offer.

And yes, I was commenting on the number of volumes out as well.

Well there ain't much to go on but the art is nice enough so it's going in my 'to watch' list. Very early to announce an adaptation though since it only started in December. I don't expect it to air until autumn/winter 2015 judging from how many LNs there are at the moment unless there is enough content in each volume to stretch it out longer.

Vol 1 has 387 pages, vol 2 has 397. That's pretty chunky for a light novel, but not exceptionally so.

Also just wanted to say that the artwork is by the same artist that did the Sunday Without God LN. Hence, there's a similarity in the artwork. I wonder if the PV will follow that suit. We'll see later I guess.

Unlikely, Enterbrain has too many Famitsu Bunko series that sell better than Psycome (like Hikaru, Hiera-Glaphicos, Altina, Dress na Boku[...]) and would thus be more profitable for them to make an anime of before considering making an adaptation of Psycome.

I do believe a Psycome adaptation is highly likely.
The staff there really loves the award-winning series.

You realize that baka tsuki hardly have 1/1000th of the existing LN in its lists. Especially if you remove all the LN which already have an anime adaptation, the remaining list is short.
The chances of finding it in Baka tsuki (not looking down on baka tsuki btw, they're doing an awesome job, but there's just far too many LN around there for them to be translated) were far lower than the contrary.

Also, in othr words, now that this is getting an anime adaptation, there is more chance than people will start asking for the translation of this novel than before.

Also, probably a 10 episodes anime, similar to Mondaiji series, which also adapted only the volumes 1& 2.

Further investigation (yes I really knew this little about this series) has shown that this light novel is from a label that didn't exist until late last year. Being published by PONY CANYON as it is, can we expect to see more series from this label getting announced for anime adaptations over the coming months and years?

Here are the series they publish, by the way:
http://www.ponicanbooks.jp/reading/
Obviously some of those are adaptations themselves of things that already have anime.

So long as it's not a case of the 1 volume premise that so many LN's have (running through their entire premise in 1 volume and then stretching the plot as thinly as possible for many novels as possible). and doesn't throw away its dignity like so many goddamn light novels out there which include tons of garbage tropes upon garbage tropes to tell its story (Including fanservice galore), i might give it a try. But the premise looks exciting, so that's already a plus for me.

Then again, good premise sometimes doesn't guarantee good executions. Take Mahouka and Black Bullet for example. Both are works brimming with potential yet gimped so badly in executions. Black Bullet ended up being so deaf narratively while Mahouka was flat out bore. The result? I dropped both shows just few days ago.
