So, another arc is over. I thought this one was another decent. The fillers in Yu-Gi-Oh are pretty enjoyable and fit into the main-story, so you can totally watch them. Skipping them shouldn't be a problem either.
Yugi was extremely lucky in his last turn, every card he had left, had a purpose and made him win xD I don't like that he kinda "forced" Leon to continue the match and don't have a revanche soon, this duel wasn't fair at all. But in the end, Yugi had more disadvantages because of Zigfrieds card and he still won, so I guess that's okay.
Zigfrieds revenge was a huge fail, but at least he showed some regret at the end.

Now to the next arc :-)

The strategy of Yugi was amazing. He did everything right to remain with only one card in his deck and still managed to win. A shame that he did't use the egyptian gods, when he summoned the three knights I thought that him would summon a god.

Now is the last arc, I'm really excited to see the past of Pharaoh.

I really enjoyed this arc; it has a nice, reasonable story and interesting duels. I'd say that the KC Grand Prix is my favorite arc in the series, supposing that the final arc does not top it.

Indeed. The filler in Yugioh are definitely among the most enjoyable.

The last few episodes were especially nice. Kaiba vs Sieg was a solid duel and it's always cool to see him trashin his opponents. Also liked the fact that he used Chaos Emperor Dragon.

Yugi vs Leon was neat too, but that magic card pretty damn OP. Yugi still found a way in the end to destroy it. That's the king for ya.

Now it's time for the final arc.

Even if the world saw Yugi as the king of games because he defeated Pegasus, I love how it’s like.. reasserted through this arc just how dang incredible he is. Winning by literally the very last card and facing a forbidden card for the very first time, YGO knows how to keep me on my toes. Just when I think there’s no way it can surprise me more, bam, another entertaining and clever way to win a duel.

I didn’t trust Leon initially but nah, what a truly good kid he was for wanting to end the duel on his own terms, multiple times that he tried. His design is also freakin adorable.

Besides Mai’s obvious cameo appearance, I noticed Alister and Valon in the background. How sweet that they would give us a moment to connect it back to the previous arc. I wish we got to see how Raphael’s doing, too, unless I completely missed it if they did.

Okay, putting aside how ridiculously fun in general Grand Championship was, this was truly an arc that Did It for us Seto Kaiba fans -- announcing his passionate rivalry with Yugi, trash talking others, maniacal laughter, dramatic entrances, shared moments with Joey and the gang, presenting his CEO capabilities, a tiny Seto flashback -- idk I also find it charming they revealed and stressed to us how he really, really wanted to play but chose not to so that he’d remain dedicated to his dream within the company and promise with Mokuba. Work hard, play hard - thanks for showing us where the line is.

I can't believe there's not much left after this! I'm not ready!!

That was a nice conclusion to this arc. Yuugi always finds a way, huh?~ It was cool to see cameos from the Doma fellas and Mai (again). I hope Sieg appreciates his little brother more now.

For the thousands in attendance, and the millions watching at home, and for that one fat ass guy sittin' on the couch playing his video game... Yuugi is the duel king!

Alrighty, the next arc is the last one! I'm ready! :-D

The animation here was neat in terms of character proportions being correct, but there were still some weird inconsistencies with the cards; Card of Sanctity had its old artwork instead of the newer one that we saw in some Doma episodes, plus Multiply in Yugi's hand had both its old anime artwork and OCG/TCG artwork depending on the shot.

I liked how Yugi got rid of Golden Castle of Stromberg by making it so that he couldn't keep up the maintenance cost. It's the sort of thing that Takahashi would've done if he'd actually written this part of the anime. Overall the Grand Prix arc was great, but it would've been so much better if it had been longer so that we could've seen more of the new duelists.
