the last movie i've watched is an iranian movie called marmoolak it is about a theif who managed to escape from prison and disguised as mullah(a religious scholar )the movie is all about the crazy adventures he will go through during his journey to reach the borders, it is a satire about the iranian society and the religious clergy and it has a bittersweet ending.

Throne of Blood by Kurosawa. Disappointing. I didn't like the over the top acting but I can look past that. The film dragged for too long in many places, but I can look past that as well. What I can't look past is the story... the ending was good, but other than that it was mostly dull. The highlights for me where the cinematography and mise-en-scene. The sets and props were great and there was some really nice shots.

Ouch, that's one of my faves from Kurosawa personally. Agree about the cinematography though, I think that's part of what really makes it stand out and accentuate the storytelling, really gives a sense of physical suffocation to complement the suffocating emotions of the characters. I was quite invested in the whole film, although I suppose it still isn't one of Kurosawa's more popular works (compared to Seven Samurai, Rashomon and the like).

The last movie I watched was "Me Before You".
The ending is kind of obvious, but I guess the main character is just so damn cute, you're rooting for her happyness anyway. It was good, but not great. I like the questions this movie raises about disabilities, living within a body you hate, the consequenses one might draw for himself and respect for life changing decisions.

Equals (2015)
A Sci-Fi that focuses on emotions. (well, I don't consider it as a sci-fi it's more like drama but anyway)
First idea behind it seemed deep but then I thought it looks like written by a high school student who is having a emotional breakdown. But in view of the fact that K Stewart acting that straight in movie, it's pretty nice.
I was watching it at 3 am last night and gauziness of movie made me sleep so I can say I liked it.

Fitzcarraldo (1982)

When thro' the end my eyes glistened with.. @_@

some moments and scenes, It's like I'd seen it long before, probably on tv as a kid or idk, Really vague. it's really staggering experiences to watch, especially the climax when the ship climbed the hill and also when it went thro' the rapid current.

There are some interesting stuff about this movie, but its lenght always put me off. Might have to check out since I like Herzog's work.

Last film I saw was On Dangerous Ground (1951) it's possibly my least favorite Nicholas Ray film. I like the plot, but the movie tried to explore too many characters in an incredibly short lenght.

fitzcarraldo might be a little too long tbh, but it has a lot of great scenes. in particular it has all that "doing all your own stunts" appeal. like he REALLY did everything in that movie

I thought it quiet dragging in the beginning before the trip, but overall I don't have much problem with the length.

Last movie I saw was the new Assassin's Creed movie. It was good, I really enjoyed~
Went to watch it with my brother and it was so hilarious how confused he was after the movie about everything xD You could notice the difference between a person who has played the games/read the books/searched information on internet etc. and a person whose knowledge is limited to the first two games xD

Moonlight - Great Coming of Age story though it did have some flaws especially in the first chapter and how badly
Juan's
off-screen death was handled.

Just watched recently

Christine: stellar's performance from rebecca hall.
Nocturnal animal : one of unique gem from 2016,
disturbing and unsettling, great cast.
doctor strange: caught my interest accidentally bcoz I
heard it have pink floyd's song interstellar overdrive
in it. In the end I (really) enjoyed spectacles been
offered, got lovely cast, but the plot and characters
feel written poorly.

It's been 3 or 4 years since I've been off the film beat now, but I decided to make an exceptoin and caught Logan this weekend and was actually surprised at how good I found it to be (not the biggest fan of the X-men franchise, but this one came highly recommended). Plot-wise it's nothing original, but the performances were stellar all around, and I'm not saying this lightly.

I also loved Mangold's earlier work "Heavy" (1995) with an especially outstanding performance by Pruitt Taylor Vince.

Kind Hearts and Coronets starring Sir Alec Guinness and Joan Greenwood. Very funny movie. Alec Guinness plays nine characters with such panache.

Twisted Nerve starring Hywel Bennett and Hayley Mills. A good psychological thriller. The main character played by Hywel is quite a complex character. It is a really good movie.

Carry on Screaming. One of my favourite Carry On films. Stars a plethora of great actors, to name but a few - Kenneth Williams, Jim Dale, Harry H. Corbett, Fenella Fielding, Jon Pertwee (one of my favourite Dr Who's) and some of the usual Carry On crowd. Fantastic movie, funny as hell and Harry H Corbett excels in his role as Detective Sergeant Sidney Bung.

Det Sgt. Bung: Now then, your name please.
Dr. Watt: Doctor Watt.
Constable Slobotham: Doctor who, sir?
Dr. Watt: Watt. "Who" was my uncle, or was - I haven't seen him in ages!.

Watched 'A Boy and his Dog' last night. A post-apocalyptic/drama/comedy story and an unusual one at that, but it was really good. The boy can communicate telepathically with his dog. And i'm not ashamed to say i cried at the really sad bit.

The French Connection is overrated like most old movies. Nice chase scenes, the whole is without substance and the characters were sadly nonexistent. A good 'document' I guess.

Oshii is probably the only director that loves dogs. He thinks he's a dog himself.

That's right, its slime! It will dissolve your clothing slowly before my eyes!

The Spy Who Loved Me. Right now on the site Letterboxd, a couple dozen people are watching through all the James Bond movies, one week at a time, and we're on the tenth one. I hadn't really seen the old Bonds before this, so it's been really fun and interesting. Roger Moore (RIP) isn't as good to me as Connery or Lazenby, and his movies are a lot more comedic (while the Connery/Lazenby ones were more corny), but this one was pretty darn good. Lots of huge stunts and lots of adventuring and JAWS!

Blade Runner 2049 was absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the best movies of the year.

I also think it's one of the best sequels ever made. It did some things better than the original, although I'm not sure which one I prefer yet. Will have to rewatch both a couple of times to be sure.

I loved how the technology of the world didn't just look like what we think our future will look like, but instead what the future of the original Blade Runner would look like. It really felt like the world had evolved in a natural way.

It was so refreshing to see a sequel of an older movie that wasn't just a nostalgia-fest like the recent Jurassic World or Force Awakens.

I watched Black Mass yesterday and it was pretty enjoyable because I just love gangster flicks like that but within the genre it was pretty average I'd say, if you compare it to for example the Scorsese movies. But it had a lot of actors I really like so that definitely also helped. I'm easy to please in that sense :>
I probably regret this post by now.

Tropical malady (2004) - 6/10

It's probably has one of best, clicked intro i ever seen but still overall the first part is quiet boring lovey dovey story. The 2nd part is where most intriguing things happen but hard to not been affected by. it also has thing to do with my lack of grasp or common understanding with the parable itself, i suppose.
Interesting that, seems nearly region in southeast asia has these typical folkstory where some men/shaman can turn themselves into tiger
