Sorry about the vagueness of the question, how have you been, it's been a few months. Uni going ok?
Film school itself was ok, I didn't care for the class I was in very much ( production management) the professor was knowledgeable for the industry of 20 years ago but had little knowledge of the current industry with the new media revolution of the last 10 years, she seemed out of touch to an extent. also frequently late to class and not very helpful when she was their ( I had to teach myself movie maker script and budget) and she never updated our grades online. Took my final last week and now I'm out Until mid January.
In spite of all of that ,I like my classmates for the most part and the school, One of my mates give me the name for a really good professor for TV field production which I'm planning on taking next semester.
Btw saw dancer in the dark a few months ago and liked it quite a bit, I'm not a huge fan of dogma style but I liked the movie overall, also saw von trier's Europa which was also rather good. It would seem he's hit or miss so far both of those were pretty good but nymphomaniac was egregiously horrible.
cant complain mate, starting film school in week. though its being postpone because of the hurricane.
other then that im ok, watching movies as often as i can, the best ive seen this year are lost city of Z, detroit and dunkirk.
so i saw your comment about death note, eh so that bad, well cant say i didnt see it coming. i as get your frustrations their, when i saw GITS 2017 i literally told one of my mates after we walked out of the cinema, fuck the director and writers, and how i hoped the they are blacklisted in hollywood and reduced to filming porn... i was mad.
ive seen both caligula and salo, it takes alot to bother me. thats cool, the only anime ive ever seen with my mom was the secret world of arrietty, in regards to gantz would you recommend the anime or manga?
Roteiro e trama perfeitos comparado a quê?
Oh shiet, didn't see you comment before now - sorry :)
But yeah, I really didn't like it and it was such a jarring watch for me as a long time fan. Nothing I could say about it would be of any worth honestly... :P
Ya lalaland was fine I took Sebastian's level of jazz more as the director using Sebastian as a mouthpiece to express his own feelings on jazz which Damien shezel clearly has a passion for, it was a good movie though by no means warranting of 14 Oscar nominations.
Moonlight was slow and character driven and well acted by most of the cast, I heard they did a good job picking actors who somewhat look-alike for the three actors have to play the main character, and I would argue they didn't do that Great a job in that regard as they all looked alittle to different. That bothered me a little but by no means was in a movie killer, see when you get a chance, certainly worth a watch.
I liked arrival ok, I have some quibbles with the ending specifically the scene with the phone call to the Chinese general. Other than that scene it was solid film, Amy Adams was having a good year, speaking of which I still need to see nocturnal animals.
Rough one pissed me off quite a bit the more I think about it the more irritated it makes me, the entire thing sort of felt like pandering and I hate as an audience member when I feel tender to, the characterization was about as bad as it wasn't force awakens, so these new Star Wars movies or not my Cup of tea, maybe Star Wars episode eight will be better… Maybe. Have you seen rogue one yet/plan to see it?
Hey mate how are you doing? Been awhile, you saw Manchester recently how did you like it? I'll try to see it within the next few weeks, I was luck enough to see moonlight yesterday which in a better world would win the academy award for best pic, though it will probably go to lalaland.
