I understand that this is an anime, and that its entirely fictional. But WHY is everyone a child abuser? Why are the social services so retarded? Why is the orphange like a concentration camp?!

I feel even more sorry for Takano now.. >:(

..except for the end, she pissed me off again...

Eh these two takano episodes were pretty useless. If anything, it shed light on why Takano is doing what she is doing, but it hasnt changed my opinion of her. The childhood abuse was sad, but probably put in there for purposes for the viewer to "pity" her past. Maybe have some viewers be "won" over by her and try to side with her..

Didnt work with me though, after seeing how she was at the end of the Massacre arc...there is no excuses for her actions, shes hands-down the most psychotic character. (even more than Shion!).

2/5 for this recent takano arc, but looking forward to the beginning of the END!

lol @ the people bitching about the Takano-focused episodes XDDDDD Every villain has to have a method to their madness or else they're just boring. These eps just explained why Takano is the way she is, however wrong and messed up she turned out. And they were interesting episodes, Higurashi isn't ALL about psycho paranoid loli killers ;p

Most of Takano's back story is fairly unbelievable such as the ridiculous amount of abuse in her care home (although I guess it would be the late 60s so who knows) and the scientists completely disregarding Dr. Takano's thesis, although I guess that was influenced by the nature of the Hinamizawa syndrome. Anyway, Hanyuu ftw XD

So basically after her troubled childhood and the mockery of her saviour she sent out on what is her eyes is an "honourable" quest to clear his name and prove them all wrong.

In a way honest intentions but right from the start they where a bit twisted and tainted by her dark thoughts.
Her grandfather did not look like the man who wanted fame and glory from his research, and certainly not be called God.

Pretty much what I wanted to say. I totally agree.

OMG I was not originally expecting scary eyed Hanyuu from the OP last time and saw it this time. It scared me!! And her at the end staring down Takano was scary too! Still really interesting, though. And even more interesting that Hanyuu is really a god, and Takano's just a wannabe god. Still, I can kind of feel for her now, especially since there is some method to her madness (I really felt bad for the grandfather), despite how she's blown it way out of proportion - but I guess her childhood was definitely blown out of proportion, so hey, ya gotta have balance somewhere. Any plot that can make me feel both sympathy and hate towards a character (typically a villain), in this case Takano, is an awesome plot in my book. I was happy for her when she finally found a more reliable guardian, and interested when putting the pieces together - as a result of what she went through, her perception became essentially that of a well-intentioned extremist. Oh, and epic confrontation in the end.

Geez, with Season 1 there was a lot of suspense between episodes but in this season I'm basically twice as excited to see the next episode. This is an awesome series. :3

(3 min in) Quick Miyoko, TO THE TARDIS! (Don't ask, I really don't know...)

At the end, Epic face off between Takano and Hanyuu (Except you should have aimed for Takano's Eye with that 10 yen coin Hanyuu. Not her boobs, her eye!).

^ uh no.

it's interesting that all these characters are damaged.
whether they were abused, or were outwardly violent... (is Keiichi the only one?)

I'm glad we get to see Takano's past, I think I can understand a little more why she would want to destroy Hinamizawa.

It's kinda weird because Takano seemed to have good intentions in the beginning. She wanted to fulfill her grandfather's dream, nothing wrong with that. However I don't get how somewhere along the line "I'll fulfill grandpa's dream" became "I'M NOW GOD! AHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHA! AHHH HAHAHAHAHAHA!" (Shoots people left and right)

Ditto! Very intense scene!

So she wants to make her savior, her grandpa, a god.
Noble and psychotic.
Your going to fail Takano. Like YOU said, a human life is heavier then the earth. You just pissed off 7 souls with strong wills and even stronger friendships, PLUS a god.
You may have seen your future exacted 100xs over, but in this world, you will fail.

Yeah, who exactly ever says that?
This world is pulled wherever the money blows, then again, we support the system with our purchases... Irony...
We, as a collective, gotta brake away. Unite, under our common humanity against our oppressors of fate, just like the characters in this anime.

Our strong will can change any fate the 'people in charge' have for us. As long as we band together.

I won't ever forgive her for what she's done.

She has a very sad story though, but I think she's a bit overzealous.

Honestly I fail to see how all that could drive a sane person to become such a heartless bitch. Which leads me to believe that Takano is insane and needs to have her head checked... by Satoshi's baseball bat.

Speaking of Satoshi, I demand to know what exactly happened to him.

Of course, her childhood and that moment with Dr. Takano's thesis doesn't justify Takano's behaviour and killing people and shit, but damn, I like her even more now. That last scene was amazing with her determination. "Bring it on!" - Take that scene out of context and you could easily think Takano would be the protagonist!
Scary Hanyuu was cute and scary though! xD

Did she got... raped? I don't know, that's what I got from bringing her to the toilet and the other men appearing... :/
Also, I guess that we can assume that the other screams were the one of the other girls who escaped. Err, I hope I'm wrong. If there is anything I can't stand, it's rape. Well, the fetish doesn't bother me, but rape put in context, it's something else.

Now everything was made clear and it's time for the showdown. I think we can assume that Hanyuu is the Oyashiro, but I don't understand why she's called Hanyuu. Maybe she's just a young girl that was choosen as some kind of sacrifice and ended up being an entity. I'm curious about that.

The background around Miyo was really interesting. It really put in perspective her obscession for the Hinamizawa cure and her relationship with her ''grandfather''. It look like she admired him so much that she even forgot that she came from another family. Well, that's what we can expect from such a traumatizing childhood. It's also really interesting how Takano-sensei and adult Miyo are drastically different. While both of them were obscessed by the disease, Takano-sensei was a composed man while Miyo is an impulsive woman.

OH SHIT HANYUU'S NOT FUCKING AROUND!

Takano went full on bitch mode at the very end. My ability to like her continues to diminish...

So that was not her true grandfather who took care of her after she left the orphanage.

Good episode. Looks like this is gonna be the REAL beginning to the last arc!

So when did that Hanyuu bit take place? Was it when Takano first moved to Hinamizawa, since they mentioned the clinic opening? Why did Hanyuu go back so far in that case? She seemed to remember everything from the previous arc.

Anyway,it's kind of hard to feel sorry for her knowing what she will do.
Now that we got her backstory out of the way it's time for the final act.
